31 with changing lines1, 3, 4, 5 to 24

Hi there,
Just new to this, and having difficulty with the interpretation. The question being 'what are his feelings for me?' About a man I met 3 months ago and who is a teacher in the organisation I am doing night-classes in. We are both adults, and I have to say I have never felt like this about any man before, i.e completely swept off my feet. I have a different teacher this term, which is just as well, since I doubt I could have held myself together if I had been in his class this term. He is a lot younger than me, and a different nationality also. And he seemed interested in me. So hexagram 31, with those changing lines into 24. Any ideas? I would appreciate some help with this, thank you.

Seems a very positive reading re his feelings for you - you've definitely had an influence on him. However the hex as a whole represents an influence which hasn't penetrated deeply enough to arouse feelings of commitment ie an effort to pursue the influence into an actual relationship - not to say that it won't... I think the reading suggests the attraction could and should lead in that direction!

Physically I'd say it definitely suggests you attract him - but at the beginning stages it is important that this aspect is held in check - ie getting to know each other on a deeper level first ie befriending - before acting on the physical attraction - as a basis for a lasting relationship (as we all know is the age old wisdom sometimes difficult to follow when you're in the flush of a new romance, perhaps naively thinking it's so special rushing in will be fine - I think it rarely is

Anwyay then changing to 24 seems to have a dual meaning and I'm not sure whether it suggests return to yourself - away from him - or that the influence will return.. if you have a different teacher does that mean you won't have an opportunity to see him? If so perhaps a return to self... but if you do expect to see him about, I reckon you're being urged to continue getting to know him - acting on the initial attraction and developing it slowly.

I've read that when 4 lines change you are, as well as reading those, to read the 2 unchanging in the 2nd hex taking the lower line as the ruler.
So 24.2 talks of 'self-mastery' and being in the 'company of good men' and 'putting aside pride' to follow these good men' influences.
24.6 also seems to be encouraging finding the right moment for return.

So I think the Yi is encouraging that you and he act on the attraction, and that perhaps his feelings are that he is attracted, but perhaps because of fear of rejection or shyness etc, he is hesitating. But joining seems the right thing for you to do from this reading, so I hope he asks you out soon or something - acts on his feelings! Perhaps you should give him a nudge in the right direction But of course, no rushing in...

Thanks so much for your reply - it seems to me that the things you say are where it's at - maybe I should mention also that I had the choice of continuing in his class or skipping to the next level, and so opted for a different class, mostly so I could re-group and get a sense of normalcy back ( plus I can survive on 4 hours sleep a night for only so long - and 3 months was getting to the upper limit for me on that one!!) Chances are I'll see him around, just got to do some work on my nerves now...

(since I live in US, I need to do time conversion to interpret the result) Also, what were you thinking when you tossed the coin, and what question did you ask exactly (I need the exact wording)

Thank you for your reply. Here in NZ, we are a day ahead of the US. The date I threw the coins was yesterday, Sat 16 May, at between 3.30 and 3.50 in the afternoon. The exact question I asked was "what are his feelings for me?"
The time here now is 8.35pm on Sunday night 17th May. It'll show up as something different once I post this, but maybe that will help with time conversions etc. Thanks for reading my post!

I'll be a bit honest with you. From the reading, I know that you really fall for this guy, but maybe I suggest you to double think a bit. First of all, when you receive four lines changing, it already suggest you that things may not end up as you expected, it also means that things are constantly changing. As far as I see what his feeling for you is that he so far only see himself as a teacher, and he does have a good feeling toward you, however it is not strong enough. What you did not know is that this guy is probably seeing other girls and even possibly seeing her regularly. Or it simply means he currently do have sexual relationship with other women. As far as the reading tells me, he may accept you as nice date, but he will not be serious with you. In fact, the reading tells me even though he has feeling with you, but you guys eventually won't work out. Even if you try really hard to maintain it, it won't last through this winter. The relationship will end up giving you heartbreak and suck out all of your energy. However, if you don't mind that, and you just want to enjoy a passionate time with him or casual relationship. Then, go for it as long as you know the consequences.

Hi chiahsieh, thank you for your interpretation, some of it seems spot on, like em ching's also was, and has given me things to think about. Which beats falling flat on my face! I'll see how things go along, and keep you posted. Although at the moment I think I'll just keep my head down. Maybe he signifies a wake-up call to me, i.e maybe I can actually start to look at the romantic side of life again, who knows?

Hi Kiwigal, sorry about the direct comment and pouring cold water on your head, but it's a little bit of harsh love from my part. Please do keep me updated. From the reading I know that you are a great gal, and maybe you will have some better luck by making more friends. In fact you might be able to meet your next relationship through friends. I suggest you to go out more to restaurants, bars, , gym, etc whatever you find passion in. Basically, the more you keep yourself entertained and relaxed. the better chance you have. Places such as classes, work place makes you uptight, and it's not good for you to meet future bf. The key is just to be yourself, don't be uptight, you will attract the right guy.

There may have been attraction but doesn't mean it goes anywhere. the 24 suggests return to ones self, to ones own centre. some of the lines in 3 show you being thrown off balance, off centre, like 31.3.4. Also if he was your teacher did you get to know him personally that he 'swept you off your feet' or was it just in the class..if just in class i have the sense this is just a strong infatuation, it doesn't look like anything stable to me..but I could be wrong. In 31.3.4 i don't reckon being 'swept' is really a good place to be, hence the return in 24

Thanks for your reply, and I have to agree, 'swept' is a bit of a stink place to be, and I'm gradually becoming more thankful that I chose to go into another class this term so I could get myself back together! Not that this other class is that much chop, it's more difficult because I skipped a grade to get into it, and I am now on the other end of the stick - last term things sailed along and I enjoyed learning; this term it's turning to custard. And so the world goes round I guess. Having just thrown a 45 to 29, changing lines 2 & 4, in response to my new question 'all things considered, would it be more positive for me to learn ____ somewhere else?' I think I'm being told to deal with my emotional issues and not let them put me off my learning.
