Greetings all:bows:
I have to ask about this, cos, honestly, no idea how to interpret. Wanted to know what to concentrate on, where to put my energy in for the best - happiest choice for me.
What is to become my main source of joy at incoming time (next few months, kind of)
32.3,4<7
I will be looking for happiness in the wrong place?! Giving my energy in a barren place for me? Certainly was not happy with this answer, so I asked what that empty field is - hex 5.5<11
Kinda opposite in meaning....I could use your help, thank you:)

I think these are very clear answers. They tell you to stop constantly looking to the future for joy. It undermines your character (32.3) and actually gets you nowhere anyway (32.4)

You then asked what the empty field is.....you ask in effect "what is it i am not succeeding in finding in this field ?" and you got 5.5 ! What a perfect answer.

All you need to do my dear is enjoy the present as best you can.....just pass the time, don't worry, don't fret, don't keep looking ahead all the time its bad for you. Enjoy what there is to enjoy RIGHT NOW there is no other time. However even in waiting you can be confident that what is meant for you will find its way to you...that means you really are free to just enjoy those pleasures you can enjoy. You aren't being asked to do anything else.

There is a warning here IMO with 32.3 that if you keep on looking for future joy you will fritter away the more durable aspects of your character...and in 32.4 waste time pursuing what really is not profitable for you anyway.

Even if you think your lifeis horrible you need to try to find the things you enjoy and really enjoy them.....that will help you so much more than always looking into the future to see whats coming

in practical terms I think 5.5 can be pleasurable pursuits (apart from eating and drinking) I do like to get 5.5. It is interesting to explore how you might enjoy yourself in various situations.

I last got 5.5 when unable to face a huge task of clearing up my flat. So when i got 5.5 i did the task in a more enjoyable way...more leisurely, bringing some artistic pleasure in by rearranging things, making things look nice, playing, having fun alongside the drudgery.

So in practical terms this might be you help yourself by going back to some creative pursuits....or just allowing yourself lots of time to do the things you actually like doing....whatever that is

Joy is only experienced from within in the present moment, so to ask about a main source of a coming joy is really looking in the wrong place, as Trojan just posted. The I Ching makes a distinction between joys and pleasures. Joys are from within and pleasures come from external things.

Thank you both. In a hurry, will read it slowly latter on...
Sometimes its hard to put a question in right words but the essence was on asking where to put most of my energy on, and where to moderate....too many things that shouldn`t be are uncertain, so wasting too much energy only at one place - work for now, that only could turn out to be temporary as everything that came with it, and having nothing left to counter balance I see traces of happening again.
So I thought I might get an answer that will narrow the field where it would be the most rewarding for me to put what energy I have and it is not that much now - what will be the most nourishing maybe and not turn out to be a major waste of time, if I am making myself any clearer...?

I think so..I think I understand. And I still think the answer asks you to put your energy into nourishing yourself, giving time to what feeds you what makes you feel good, either big or small things. Overall it appears you may be in a kind of a limbo, things are uncertain, but Yi is counselling IMO, that amongst all that uncertainty you really take care to enjoy your life. As hex 5 is a waiting time....who knows what the future brings the reason it is so important to rest and recuperate yourself is so that you are ready and refreshed when time to act comes. You really don't need to be wasting time in trying to figure things out, you may have become too anxious, too hard working, too serious about it all. Practise acting as if none of it really mattered apart from your experience right now, this moment.

Probably none of it really matters half as much as we think it does. You don't need to be scrutinising and agonising over choices or directions or anything.

If Yi tells you to chill take the opportunity to chill

I wish I had a button for that...:brickwall:
And you have never been an Aquarius, have you?:mischief:
I am so overly sensitive and it increases with age, to my astonishment. I hate that. But since I have reached my top of "too muchness", the amplitude has to go down a bit.
I have been getting hex 5 and 49 lately but not fully understanding, because they both implied waiting, even my last thread about 47.2 is about waiting, or most likely, inertia.
So my first thought was, since I asked WHAT that empty field IS, that I was told not to wait surrounded by small obtainable pleasures (meat and drink) but to be aware of them as passing less important ones and not let myself go in that way....so had to check.
Wilhelm gives me an idea of existing danger in that sense, also on steady pacing myself - shaken as I am.
Even in the midst of danger there come intervals of peace when things go relatively well. If we possess enough inner strength, we shall take advantage of these intervals to fortify ourselves for renewed struggle. We must know how to enjoy the moment without being deflected from the goal, for perseverance is needed to remain victorious. This is true in public life as well; it is not possible to achieve everything all at once.
So now I take that this is a calmer period for me to recuperate my strength, in ways you have suggested.

So thank you both again.
