Good morning everyone!
I have recently started seeing a man who is a bit older than me, and while our connection seems to be really unique, he is also quite the dreamer, which is romantic (as I am one too) but in my 23 years I've learned can be bad news for anything lasting. Then again, I'm also young enough to be proven wrong!

I asked the question of what to expect and got 46.1.3 changing to 19, a reference to being welcomed to advance, but also about advancing into an empty city. Though the resulting hexagram is seemingly auspicious, the third line kinda gives me the "this is too good to be true" vibe. He was previously divorced (I don't know much about it yet) so this also seems fitting in some ways with the whole ghost-town concept. Perhaps he's appearing to want a connection but is actually emotionally unavailable for anything long term? Or perhaps I'm too easily discouraged...

Additionally, I had asked what was in his heart/what his intentions were, and recieved 50.5 changing to 44. My assumption is that this is merely an affair in his eyes? The inferior element could also be my doubt...

Line one is auspicious but that "empty city" in line 3 can turn out to be disappointing in the end. That is because we see nothing that makes us hesitate in the empty city, and so we may let down our guard when that is inadvisable.

Well, gold knobs and a jade handle on a cauldron are considered auspicious. Hexagram 50 is about the nourishment of a new regime. It seems that he has high-minded aspirations. Your assumption that this is merely an affair in his eyes is not borne out by this reading.

I agree with Ginnie - his intentions are blameless but I wonder whether the Yi actually tells us what's in another's heart or just in ours. According to my I Ching - by Jou Tsung Hwa, line 1 says - Ascending that meets with confidence brings the greatest good luck. So be confident. I've been told that line 1 among moving lines is the most important. Since 2 lines are moving, you could just look at the whole. The 'window of the hexagram' which alludes to the image of the hexagram shows:
1. Rain falls from the clouds. This means sharing the benefits that someone else produces.
2.A carpenter prepares to saw. This means one should get rid of bad habits, then one can achieve good.
3.A person polishes a brass mirror. This means to clarify one's thinking so one can see things clearly.
4. A mirror is on a frame. This means to exercise self control to keep yourself from being drawn into imorral actions.

Best of luck!
