Hello all - how have you been!? I haven't been coming here for a while, I mean I come all the time, I just haven't been posting. So, perhaps it's a bit rude to come back asking for help without first having helped others? if so, not to worry, just skim past.
Anyway, the reason I am posting this is that I've wanted for a while to have a question to post to this forum but most of the castings I receive were easy for me to interpret or there were ample examples in the Archives. Today, I got this one 57.2.4.5 > 56 and there was not a single entry for this particular combo and in addition to that I find myself unable to really read it, so I thought - Yay, an excuse to come mingle with the online clarity folks!
(btw, much thanks to everyone contributing to the unchanging hexagrams threads, I've found them very useful and hope to be able to contribute something useful at some point)
I always get a bit worried when I get hex 57 as I inevitably end up breaking the couch into pieces and losing all firm correctness, so I was pleasantly surprised that this time I didn't get that line!
I suppose you want to know the question? It was really about someone from work, not really a friend, but not really a colleague either, just someone I've known for a couple of years now who I chat to fairly regularly but equally regularly they take offense at something I said and things go frosty for a bit and then go back to how they were etc etc.
So, recently we had another defrosting/frosting and today I had no opportunity to chat to them but we did see eachother couple of times in passing and I wondered, what was their attitude towards me now (and this is what I asked of Yi). It may be that the reading is about how I feel about them, it certainly fits, but I'd like your thoughts too.
57.2 would indicate a circumstance of someone who is gently probing an issue they seem unsure about
57.4 - very positive line indicating a success of an endeavor - I find this confusing if it's talking about me because of the three fold game - It seems weird to have achieved a goal with aplomb when there was no goal in the first place?
57.5 so things are going to be all right, in spite of a wobbly beginning. Perhaps three days later, we'll be back to how we were?
Resulting 56 is a bit confusing but perhaps not in the context of situation where people are not sure how to behave with one another - 56 is all about a traveler making his way unobtrusively in the foreign lands - this is me my whole life, so that part fits. Although overall hex 57 > 56, when I look at it that way, I get a bit confused and cannot make out what it wants to say.
So, to summarise - I'm struggling with 57.4 (even though it's positive!) and overall 57 > 56 as well as wondering if I've interpreted the rest of it correctly.
I hope you'll come and offer your 2 cents/pence/whathaveyou
