Hi all,

very upset right now.
Was out with an old friend at a cigar bar who I hadn't seen in a year, catching up with him after a very difficult time in his life.

Anyways, after I left, I realized that I no longer had on me a Venus talisman necklace (this is not a mass made one, but one made at an auspicious astrological time by a ceremonial magician as based on the writings of the the renaissance era magician/astrologer Henry Agrippa, and further charged by me through an astrologically timed ritual).

I went back to the cigar bar and searched thoroughly for it, but couldn't find.

Ever since I purchased and further charged it, my love life and social life have blossomed (for example, I am dating a beautiful woman who works in the cosmetics industry, a very venus influenced industry), and interesting venusian related occurrences have happened (such as finding myself waiting in line at the airport with someone I later found out was an international editor for vogue, and receiving from my godmother a book by Vougue and the Metropolitan Museum about the costume and fashion collection that she got at a talk given by that same editor… doesn't really do me much good, but very interesting… getting a good deal of work peripherally related to interior design, which is something that astrologically speaking is related to Venus)

This talisman was working, both in ways that directly benefited my life, as well as in direct ways related to the things it is connected with which, while not necessarily benefiting me, make life more interesting.
This upsets me immensely, to the point of anger (which is of course not very venusian at all). I can always get another one, and I will, but the charging process is time consuming and difficult, and the talismans are not cheap (not ridiculously expensive, but not at all cheap).

The exact question I asked of the iching was:

What happened with my necklace/talisman?

I got:
hexagram 9 Gentle restraint

changing lines
2 : He allows himself to be drawn into returning. Good fortune.

3 : The spokes burst out of the wagon wheels. Man and wife roll their eyes.

6 : The rain comes, there is rest. This is due to the lasting effect of character. Perseverance brings the woman into danger. The moon is nearly full. If the superior man persists, misfortune comes.

changing to hexagram 3 Difficulty at the begining

I am flummoxed… I mean, I obviously I lost it, and because it is a spiritualy animated object I don't think my losing it is a random occurrence, it happened for a reason of some sort, whether for good or bad I don't know.

I am hardly anything beyond an untalented amateur at reading the icing, and this answer seems to be a bit ambiguous, so any insight from those in the know would be appreciated, thanks

If you changed clothes before going out, check those clothes, the places that you put them, and especially the area where you put your shoes. If you drove, check the foot space in your vehicle and the crevices in the seats.

thanks Pocossin,

I checked and it wasn't in any of the places unfortunately. However, I was with family visiting, and I mentioned that I had lost a necklace, and my mother immediately offered to buy me a replacement as an early birthday gift, so whatever the reason it was lost/disappeared, everything sort of worked out.

Sorry you haven't found it. It could turn up in the future.

If there is a "spiritual" force of reasoning behind the loss, and the reading was just explaining what had happened in its own language (something I find it does often), then maybe it was symbolically saying it was time for the training wheels to come off, time to stop placing power in the small object and to recognize it in yourself. But I still think the reading as a whole was speaking very practically, including 3, as a new but difficult and perhaps chaotic or confusing beginning.

Personally, I have found talisman to be effective to empower my belief, until I realize that belief is in myself and the universe I'm part of, and not in a particular object of attachment and dependency, whether it be a certain cross, dragon or other object of my affection. Wind blowing over the heavens make the clouds gather and grow dense, but has not the power to make it rain. Here rain can symbolize the talisman object itself or the effect you attribute to this small object.

Good luck with your newly made connections. You must be doing something right.

That is a very good point. It is cosmic influence/correspondence that we aim to gain through talismans.

Long overdue reply. Pocossin, you were correct, I found it in a bag in which my shoes were. Could have sworn I checked after reading what you wrote, but I did not find it until I returned home and properly unpacked.

As for what Soooo wrote: I fully disagree, what you are saying is pretty much equal to "why use the iching for divination, when you can just make up your system of divination involving bologna slices".
