Last week I was approached by the Big Boss with a still unofficial offer of a position entailing increased responsibilities.

I asked the Yi: how will this new proposal turn out?
Received 50.6 changing into 32.

The cauldron to Duration... sounds very promising to me. Would appreciate any further insight! :bows:

Hello everyone,

I have just finished reading Da Liu's book over I Ching numerology and am trying to apply the Plum Blossom Method to some of my readings. This one, with only one moving line, serves the purpose.

Now, looking at the trigrams composing the two Hexes casted, their respective inner hexes, and their mutual relationships, the picture is less univoquely encouraging than it would appear: the prophetic hex announces bad luck (Fire exhausting Wood) as well as the relationship between its inner trigrams and the subject's one (Metal destroying Wood). There should be an improvement with the resulting hex (double Wood) although once again this is conflicting with the inner trigrams' element (Metal). On top of all this, the fan yao of 50.6, 32.6, says "Restlessness as an enduring condition brings misfortune" adding an alarming "Greatly lacking in merit"...

Obviously I am a total beginner in the Yi and in this method, so my application of the rules tends to be mechanical and the interpretation of the text very litteral... Can anyone help me out?

I always thought that the Plum Blossom method was very similar to Horary astrology, in that you took the time of the question or event and set up your hexes accordingly. Therefore, you cannot use the Plum method in retrospect unless you have the original time. or has this now been changed?

The method requires the use of the date and hour to cast a reading, but you can use its principles to interpret any other reading as long as it does have one changing line only. The rules (trigram's elements & relationship between them) stand anyway.

So a little update after 4 years... Indeed it was a very good opportunity, with enduring results but also lots of challenges and difficulties.
