A while ago I dreamed my 9-year old daughter would get stabbed to death with a knife

It felt so real, I actually did go to the school to express my concern the violence was getting out of control (without mentioning the dream -- there had been some other incidents already).

the teacher brushed me off completely.

then my daughter fell ill with a severe stomach inflammation after witnessing another act of violence (resulting in her best friend's knee being crushed).

i scheduled another appointment with the teacher. he was very defensive. i noticed his hands were shaking violently. later i learned a kid had snatched a large knife from his desk that day and threatened to kill another kid. the teacher had jumped on the kid and prevented the worst. i also learned it was not the first time this happened. 6 months before the same kid had snatched the same knife and threatened to kill himself (10 years old).

from the way the teacher and the principal reacted i realized their only concern was about getting sued and they would do anything to suppress information and bully the victims.

so, i got my daughter transferred to another school. she is recovering now (the stomach inflammation actually prevented her from being present during the knife attack, which I had dreamed about before, only with her as a victim)

now that she is safe again, i ask myself whether i should just let it all go or report the information to the police, so they can decide whether to investigate or not.


1) What if I report the knife incident to the police?

23.1.3.4 > 30

(for any other reading, I might not have decided to post, but HEX 23 is the KNIFE hexagram! -- Clarity's knife or Clarity about the knife?)

What do I still need to clarify about the knife incident?

Posting about it led to a healing synchronicity related to Hex 30.2. Very strange.

I'll share this here.

Not sure whether I still feel the need to report it to the police. Any thoughts?

Presumably you'd report to the police to 'tip them off', that is like using beaters, directing them towards the school. They'd be shepherded that way but it may not mean that they'd do anything though there's a good chance it would have some effect. The same chance as when the king users beaters on 3 sides and lets the ones in front go. The beaters 'round up' the game just as police potentially round up criminals - or do what they can, they won't get all of them. They might easily say to you for example 'Thank you for the information there is only so much we can do' which is standard but it's still worth it if it potentially saves one child's injury isn't it? Yi leaves it up to you to weigh that chance.

That's pretty much how I felt regarding the initial reading about reporting to the police. Just share the information and leave it to them to investigate.

My daughter's other best friend who stayed in the old school followed her as class president. she came by very agitated the other day, because a kid had dropped unconscious in her class and she felt it was her responsibility to call the teacher for help (same one). he brushed her off and said the kid was just pretending. turned out the kid had an epileptic seizure. i mean, this is what the girl told me. it doesn't have to be 100% true. just sort of seems in line with the teacher's behavior so far.

he marked down my daughter's grades when we dared criticize him for keeping a knife in his unlocked desk. he's in his last year. i don't feel any need to get back at him or anything. I'm just glad my daughter is recovering. She lost 25% of her weight and could hardly eat for 3 months. And her other friend has an injured knee and PTSD now from the incident. the kid with the knife was transferred to another school. but the kids who crushed the other girl's knee are still in the same class. It just feels like maybe I should report it to prevent anything to happen to other kids. there seems to be a culture of irresponsibility at the school. my daughter was nearly killed by a basketball hoop that was not secured in 2nd grade. the school already showed a similar pattern back then and only agreed to talk to us after they realized we wouldn't budge. they convinced us they would take measures to prevent anything like that from happening again. And we found our peace with it back then. My daughter got away with a severe concussion, because she rolled over after the first hit just before the metal bar would have crushed her head. We figured it was an accident that should have been prevented, but let it go, because my daughter was fine again and wanted to stay in the school.

I wouldn't want to be in the teacher's shoes now. It must be incredibly hard to deal with such degrees of violence in 4th graders. but you can't just turn away and give up like that. then its better to quit or call in sick.


As to 30.2.

It was just one of those moments when I felt an eerie rapport with the Yi, as if it were a real person answering my question face to face. I asked about further "clarity" and it responds with hex 30.2 "clarity".

There was a synchronicity, a coinciding of the words "plants made of sunlight" (which I was copying from Hilary's commentary) and the words "healing plants" spoken by an ancestor of an indigenous poet in the documentary randomly running in the background (I wasn't paying attention and hadn't chosen to watch this documentary).

So, instead of just answering my question about further "clarity" regarding the knife incident, the Yi gave me the energy of clarity, the golden light of 30.2. It felt kind of like the Yi was saying: "don't worry, it's all cleared now." (because since that second incident my sense of security has been totally shaken and I am constantly worried about my daughter)

Might be pure nonsense. But it made sense to me in that moment.

And even if the healing part is pure fantasy. It did introduce me to a poet I hadn't heard of before and will never forget now ...

I Ching aside, I hope you inform the police and also the superintendent of the district. Put your concerns in writing and follow up with an in person visit. If you get brushed off then go to the next person higher up. My experience has been that the higher up the authority is the more they want things done right where as the lower flunkies are just trying to keep everything quiet.
