Bizarre, Unusual and Just Wondering

I've had two unusual experiences in the past week and I am curious to find out what gave rise to them. The first time it happened was last Thursday when I received Kathyd's e-mail. At the time, nothing seemed out of the ordinary to me. When I read Kathyd's e-mail, it was as if I were literally reading it for the SECOND time. I knew without a shadow of a doubt what was written before I read it. I felt bad that she'd been waiting perhaps for a week now for someone to help her and so I offered her a Tarot reading since Hilary seemed quite busy at the time.

It never occured to me to question why the same letter would be submitted a second time. In anycase, I made the offer and only realised the situation was a bit *weird* when Kathyd herself responded back and thanked me for responding *so* quickly. On second inspection, the page in question clearly has only ONE letter requesting help from Kathyd.

I mentioned it to a close friend over the weekend but neither of us could really explain it so I kind of chalked it up to some sort of strange deja vu thing and let it go at that. However, I've just had it happen to me yet again.

Sorting through my bills this morning, I came across a note/reminder I had written to myself about checking to make sure that a certain company did indeed credit my credit card an amount that was due to me. I immediately and clearly recalled having seen the credit applied to my monthly statement a number of days ago. I promptly trashed the note but when I searched for the statement in question I curiously could not find it. About 1/2 hour ago, I opened my regular snail-mailbox to find the monthly credit card statement I had been looking for, waiting for me. This was the statement I very CLEARLY recalled having seen before yet it only arrived today.

Out of curiosity, I asked the I Ching what this was and got Hex 47 unchanging. Any ideas on this?

I'm a bit of a Trekkie (Star Trek fan) so I know there has to be a term and explanation for these types of occurances and I was hoping there was someone reading this who has had this sort of thing happen to them and/or if they can tell me what this is, how it occurs and why. Anyone familiar with any websites that could help me make sense of this??

Dear Dharma,

Sorry to be such a wet blanket... but there is a boring explanation for your first deja vu, I'm afraid, namely that Kathy posted her message before on a different page (I've since deleted the duplicate from there).

But as for the rest - no, I don't know. I do know much the same thing happened to me once, with - of all things - a German listening comprehension in school. As the teacher dictated the questions, I already knew the passage she was going to read - word for word - and pointed out that we'd done this one before. Insisted, in fact, much to the irritation of the rest of the class who knew perfectly well we hadn't. The teacher had actually only chosen the passage and written the questions the night before.

Maybe the real question we should be asking is why this doesn't happen all the time. In my case I have a shrewd idea - only when my intellectual self can be fooled into thinking there's a legitimate 'excuse' for the knowledge can it get through!

Thanks Hilary for the explanation!

I'm not disappointed and I don't think that the evidence is boring at all. I believe that all our experiences, however bizarre they may appear to be initially, can be brought 'down-to-earth' and explained logically anyhow.

There may be some things that are for now seemingly unexplainable only because we don't have the technology to validate them but that is not the case with Kathy, which has been clarified to my satisfaction.

Thank you for clearing that one up for me. However, my second experience needs more investigation.....
