What is the potential I will buy a house by the end of the year?

Hexagram 26 Unchanging - This looks to me like I will, at the very least, be in process of buying a house.

Hi Becalm

Every time I get a Hex Un I always think of a message like this:
"Hex's message regarding Image and Judgment" ok, message received, I have to do this!... I'm not acting- I need to get involved!"

Buying a house is a long term investment, which involves a lot of resources and where you need to manage those resources well... almost like the hex26 theme of raising livestock.

Cheers,

I don't see 26uc here as a prediction - it all depends on how much capital you have stored and if there isn't enough you may have to borrow ie 'not eat at home'. If you don't have enough supplies you can't just eat food from your own stash.

Thank you both for giving your interpretation and ideas - it was a curious response to get - Why not just respond with Hex 60 if it's a no go....

I see how you could think that about 60 - limits/limitation - but I don't think 60 means that. Maybe 12 would be more like a no go, Blocked or Stagnation.

60 is limiting / articulating / measuring. It's the paired hexagram of 59, dispersing / scattering / flooding.
Paired means upside down, seen from the other end: :|::||(59) ||::|:(60)

Imagine a flood wiping all the boundaries away - 60 channels the water so it's not spilling all over.

It's also about agreements among people - what measures or agreements can everyone live with? Like laws work best when there's a decent consensus for them.

---

Didn't you post a thread recently about inheriting some money? If that comes through would it be enough, and is a house what you want to spend it on? I could see either side of that - a house is a stable place to live, which would be wonderful for you. It's also a good investment. On the other hand it might be less wonderful if your every penny ends up in it, between buying it in the first place, mortgage payments, repairs etc.

Another thing, noticing the sequence from 25 - are you (finally) in a position to settle down? I haven't been keeping up very well with your threads - whatever it is that's kept you moving around so much for years, is it over? I wonder if that's a question 26 is asking you.

Here's the Sequence text and Hilary's commentary:

Great Taming follows from Hexagram 25, Without Entanglement:

'Being Without Entanglement, hence capable of Taming, and so Great Taming follows.’

To be fully engaged with present opportunity, you must first be fully disentangled from the past. If you’re entangled, circumstances control you; you’re not Taming anything. You need to be free from all the things that are not yours to work on before you can make the most of those that are – you disengage in order to re-engage wholeheartedly.

The bit about circumstances controlling you seems a lot like what you've been going through all this time. So have you arrived at 26, or like Trojina said is 26 where you'll have to get to in order to do this?

Thanks for your insight Liselle - good question!!
I'm in the same circumstances as I've been all this years having to base my decisions re work and where to live around finances but the difference is I no longer do the Fight/Flight nor do I live in perpetual fear and anxiety.
I became increasingly unwell in recent months until most days I could barely function, twist of fate saw me at a a naturopath who has helped me with my health immensely but it's slow progress and I don't expect to feel even close to 100% for at least another 2 months.
Will the inheritance be enough to buy a house or will it be enough to buy just a bag of lollies??? - I still don't know hence my question really......so I'm trying to work out a plan of action, but not knowing the amount I'm to receive leaves me in a state of just Waiting and wondering what next!!

Hexagram 26 Unchanging - This looks to me like I will, at the very least, be in process of buying a house.
Your potential is what this reading looks to be addressing rather than your buying a house. You look to have an idea to buy a house, however this calls for you to get many things into place to help with making it happen, The hexagram calls on you to get out there in some way ( crossing a river) - if the house is what you most want then go for it. Take the small steps you can when you can to make it happen. The hexagram advises you to make use of your past experiences and your new ways of approaching life in order to position yourself best for this future.

If buying a house is the goal for this year then take steps to make it so. Of course there are many unknowns but if you start taking positive action towards this rather than expecting it to come to you on a plate (not eat at home) then the potential for your house dream to materialise will be greater. Plans are there to be made and then adapted, changed or dropped. Part of sitting with unknowing is the wondering and what ifs, however if wondering is all you do then all you have worked towards is producing a mountain of what ifs.

So yes, you are in the process of buying a house just thinking about it puts you on that path.

...... or it may be nothing like that at all.

Good Luck.

Hexagram 26 Unchanging.

Your question was about "potential" - so I would take that as primarily asking about what resources you might have at your disposal by the end of the year, and only secondarily perhaps the housing market and your own situation.

26 Great Accumulating unchanging.
Judgement - Legge: Great Accumulating means being firm and correct. If its subject doesn't enjoy his family revenues at the expense of public service, there will be good fortune.
The Image is raising big livestock/cattle. "The noble one knows many former words and deeds and proceedings, in order to accumulate his virtue. "

> I take this reading to say it is not just the financial resources that are important here, but your knowledge and understanding of handling money and whatever it is you are buying into. For example real estate market and home values, what are the best progams and bank rates available, pitfalls in home ownership like underground oil tanks, how old are the appliances, natural gas is 3 times cheaper now for heating, septic or well systems, condo boards ayatollahs and bad neighbors and hoods, etc.

Or maybe it's saying - buy a ranch!
You will have some resources I think. But the Yi says read up so you can multiply your wealth.

The version I was reading talks about making plans, channeling that potential, and how a pot boils faster with the lid on.

One other thing that just occurred to me, still maybe about the 25-26 sequence, is have you found a workplace you think will be good? You've had such trouble with awful workplaces, which is what you say has kept you moving. If work goes south again but you've bought a house, then what?

(I mean - I hope the answer is you have. As I said I haven't been keeping up very well with threads.)

Thanks psychonaut613 - I noticed that this Hexagram is also called Taming the Potential - interesting because I asked what is the Potential I'll by a house and 'channeling that potential' makes perfect sense at this point.

This is also a good question Liselle - I've just left a toxic workplace (yes again) and going through some very deep healing through the use of spagyrics so I'm just sitting with everything at the moment.
I believe with everything that's going on in the World and me personally they'll be a vast improvement in my life but it's just an unknown at present......here's hoping the right place and job comes to me by the end of the year.
