In the complexity of a difficult situation, with the hope/idea of positive change I asked as follows;

"What am I supposed to do about all of this?"

asnwer: 21.4 27

21.4

"Arrows of Steel"- The obstacle in your path is resistant to all your efforts. It is proving to be as resilient as it is annoying. Examine your obstacle more carefully. It has a weakness which you may not have perceived. When you have seen what you must do, you must use stronger tactics against this vulnerable place. Persistance is recommended.

Weaknesses can't be found, as 21.4 implies.... I feel blocked in this situation.

Next question: "What can I do?"

16.2.4 7

2 "Firm as Stone"- Approval can be used as a form of flattery. One who seeks approval often opens oneself up to manipulation and negative external forces. A change in this line suggests that a firmness of resolve will win the day. Be wary of placing too high a value on the approvals of others. Instead, value inner resolve.

4 The changes to line 4 indicate: "Do Not Doubt"- This is the only unbroken line in the hexagram of "Approval". It represents one whose approval is sought after. A change in this line represents a potential loss of confidence, or a movement away from this status as the "giver of approvals". The message here is to remain confident. Your original path is true.

16 approval I don't understand. .2 could imply, just hang in there, .4 seems to imply that something good might come out all of this? 7, army, build up my forces?

Could someone help and elaborate on this? As I am desperate for some sort of positive response from these lines. :weep:

Yes, 21.4 invites you to think about what you can do about the situation, so the next question is correct.

In my opinion 16.2.4 tells you that you should not let others come close to you. 16.4: you let the others come close, 16.2: stop it. 7 represents the army, the will, it can be a fight or sadness, a depressive state. What you need is discipline, to be rigorous.

'Others' can be people or things, you didn't describe your situation.

Yes, thank you taoscopy! And its both , people, and a situation. Too many details too describe the situation. But earlier on, after writing my post, i did tell someone to f*ck off, pardon my language, but it paints the picture doesnt it?

Interresting though that 7 can represent a fight, sadness or depresive state, cause the person i told to F off was indeed someone who neglects good friendships even when its slapped in her face. As much so that she doesnt realize that she has been hurting a good friend to. And as the situation implies, there is no escaping it, we are bound to "stick together" due to obligations and cicumstances, unless i won the lottery lol

As a follow up question, and purely out curiousity, i asked "what could she be contemplating about me", after telling her to F off.

18.4.6 32

From what i can gather (cause im on my phone). 16 speaks of decay, but is this reffered to our relarionship or our situation? 4, fixing fathers mistake and 6, kings daughter married.... She feels bad, regretful for miss behaving or? This one's cryptic for me.

The oracle generally does not answer such questions like "What does X think about me?", so ask them at your own risk. I'll take this as a denial to answer.

But sometimes the oracle does reply to such questions, hence why i asked what she could be contemplating instead of "thinking". The background thought to that question was to understand the situation better as communication is so non existant with her, even approaching her about it will under put her head in the sand as she is so stubborn about it. So, i do feel the lines mean something, although to cryptic for me to understand.

I know how it feels, I fall for it myself often too. Specially when I get 9.3, I can't refrain from asking in which direction the other is going....even that is borderline, do it for fun if you want a casual conversation with the Yi but don't rely on the answer.

I can go into the details if you want:

With Richard Wilhelm's comments.

18: The image of DECAY.
Thus the superior man stirs up the people
And strengthens their spirit.

18.4:

Tolerating what has been spoiled by the father.
In continuing one sees humiliation.

This represents your position. The alternate text says something like "He goes but finds nothing yet."

18.6:

He does not serve kings and princes,
Sets himself higher goals.

This represents the oracle, the oracle does not work for you but has higher goals.

The outcome is 32, this situation is going to last. 18.4 is a warning, it means that if you insist the Yi will deliberately mislead you.

Yi deliberately mislead you? ^^ Sounds more like a human to me lol.

Alright, makes sense now "not serve kings and princes". That clicks as Yi mislead me into thinking something else. Whimsical Yi he is ^^ Thank you so much taoscopy! :bows:

Yes it can happen. The Yi is not a tool like a watch or a computer, but a spiritual teacher and can disicipline us whenever necessary.

The Yi also regularly ignores my questions to talk about something else. The first time it happened to me, I got 56.6 because I had forgotten a pot on the fire. It was totally unrelated to my question but the Yi wanted to warn me about this pot.
