Candid...

I dont' do the "I AM". Heaven's no! That makes it about the person and makes it much more permanent than temporary. Emotions are temporary...they pass through you...as long as you let them. I stop at "I feel" where emotions are concerned. The difference may seem minor, but it's not.

Further, the "I want" "I feel" "I think" etc. language is the foremost part of any assertiveness training. That's it in nutshell really.

Here's a little more detail on what I'm trying to explain.

Anger:

Read Tashi's message right after I posted to the 'does God have intention' thread.
It is a joy to meet a being which dedicates itself to life.

when i met my young lama friend in india, he was on his hands and knees in the dirt laughing and talking with the crawling ants. near him was a very old woman whose legs had given out and couldnt walk. he had climbed the himalayas on foot for pilgrimmage, (was thought to be by nearly the whole town as 'simple'), she had come to bodh gaya to cut her long long hair and offer it. they have nothing, no country, only a borrowed roof over their head, barely the next meal. but they have a stable vision of the interconnectedness of all life, and are amongst the happiest strongest fiercest people i have ever met. i wish i could be with them. it is a shame one can only carry such people in one's heart, as being with them is endless joy.

the sad truth is that lifestyles like this are being obliterated, . in our own western culture states of mind like this are endangered by cultural malaise. so much destruction going on. how much time? before people cannot even enjoy the free breath they were born to take, which connects them to the endless sky?

(more notes to self..bodhidharma said that the path of free ones is always surrounded by threat of extinction and great danger. one time i asked the i ching about the bodhisattva path, and recieved 29. no change. endless danger. this is samsara. this can also be liberation. i guess the the trick is to work with that and remember that. no doubt. despite the obstacles, perhaps even all the better for them. i guess just get used to dirty air. additional note to tash: and dont go over the edge when you embrace it! o.k)

(ok now, im laffing a little... secret charm for you in my pocket.)

hey hilary this new longer edit button is incredible. boy i cant thank you enough. more time to correct my mistakes, wow!
