Contact colleagues?

I wondered whether or not to contact colleagues -
after I stopped being a member of that team (school) about 5 years ago.
The social contacts had been ok there, actually there had been a farewell party
for me when I left. And there had been mutual promises not to lose contacts.
Not much of that kind has actually happened over the past years...
My question: Should I contact my ex-colleagues?

It describes the static non involved relationship between you and them right now. It also makes me wonder what really went on between you all as this is not exactly a cast of pure sweetness and light.

So 12, no deep communion with people but also 13, communion with people.

So line 1 looks like if you contact them you may find old issues resurfacing. And then line 3, who feels shame ? And is this a sequence of events, you bring up old issues and then one of you feels shame about it ?

FWIW I tend to find 12.3 actually describes the shame of others but it could be them feeling shame, it might be you but why ? I guess there could be shame for letting the link drop between you and yet that's not really enough to feel shame about, just losing touch. Might there be any old grudges held ?

You have 36 yang pattern and 6 yin pattern and I am wondering again if what brings you to ask this is some old wounds, old unresolved issues or grudges with your colleagues.


In your post it doesn't sound like you had issues with them but this is a slightly dark reading IMO. But you have 13 also, community, fellowship with men and that may bode well for reuniting.

Think about this though, think about where it feels somehow dark and hard for you and why it may feel that way. Consider your own feelings well here. I don't want to put you off, after all what's the worse that can happen but on the other hand there's some stress around this and I can't tell if it's just in you or if the history you have with these people is a little complicated ?

I see the hex 12 lines as referring to the friendships coming to a standstill once you left the school. Harmony in "the wilds" could mean being able to create friendships outside of the school environment.
I don't see these hexagrams as saying whether you "should" re-connect with your old co-workers but they do seem to me to suggest the friendships came to a Standstill because people simply weren't putting energy into them anymore so perhaps you are being guided to consider if there's really enough enthusiasm here to make reactivating these connections worth it.

Personally I always enjoy hearing from an old friend even if it's just for a phone chat.

Thanks a lot -
after reading your comments I spent hours reflecting my feelings (past and present) -
and also "shame" that may have been involved. Actually, there hadn't been any real, serious conflicts,
but different views concerning the ways of teaching - especially between the head and me.
I'm soon going to be 70, and - typical at that age? - the past has been catching up with me over the past months, I even feel somewhat haunted at times...
Well, I've finally decided not to contact all of them but one colleague who I got along with well over the years. That might be a good step. But after reflecting your views I also feel that I should invest more into my present social life - apart from past connexions.
