Destiny Reading

Hello All!

In the discussion area on the "Multiple Moving Lines" page, SupaNatural brought up the subject of destiny readings and, in fact, described his own based on hexagram 50.

I found this interesting enough to cast for myself and I was hoping that I could get some added insight into the hexagrams that emerged for me. I came up with 48/32.

I would love to hear from SupaNatural himself on this but I certainly will value the thoughts of any other I Ching reader who wishes to share their insight with me.

Ah Dharma, what a reading!

(and what a question. It takes some courage to ask that one... I suspect that not everyone who asks for a ?destiny reading? receives exactly that. The answer will be commensurate with our understanding of the question, as always - though stretching us just a little
wink.gif
)

Supanatural has answered you in the general area because of password problem. But that is now sorted, so once I'm sure all is OK I'll move that message over here, unless he does so first.

If you haven?t already, I?d suggest taking some big empty pages in your journal, and writing out all the hexagrams for this reading, all the contexts and changes as well as the primary and relating. Something like an over-sized tarot spread. You will probably be walking around in this reading and discovering it for a few years yet.

The character for #48 looks like a noughts and crosses grid; the original character had a dot in the central square. That dot was the well: the rest of the character denotes a grid of fields. Each of the eight outer plots was cultivated by a single family, using water from the well; they also all came together to cultivate the central plot (for the quasi-feudal lord who owned the land). I mention all this because it creates a different conception of the well: it?s not only a source of water, but also a meeting place and something shared.

The nuclear hexagram of the Well is hexagram 38, Polarity. Somehow, at the centre of this marvellous image is hidden a profound and irresolvable tension. I think the source of this actually comes out in the Judgement. People uproot themselves and change their lives utterly; time passes, generations file past - and there is nothing lost or gained; the well is a well. The Source is unchanging, limitless, universal. But the human side of things is all tied up in short well-ropes and broken water-jars, so that the Judgement ends with a large question-mark over whether we manage to reach the water at all. I think this is the tension of the Well, between unchanging source and changeable, imperfect human beings. It also seems to be a central idea of the reading. (I?m restraining myself from saying ?and so this means that you are here to?? because I know you know how to interpret an image! And this one is yours to interpret.)

The wise disciple of the Well seems to understand about the tension. She ?encourages the toiling people to help one another.? The Well is a place for people to meet. But the Contrast (Zagua) actually says that it?s not just a matter of meeting by chance, but of flowing together, perfect communication - perhaps because they share in the nature of the underground water, and it links them. This sounds like the subtle penetration Supanatural was talking about. The Well follows from a period of total isolation, #47 - cramped, oppressed, ?confined reaching upward, necessarily turning round to go inward.? Turning inward means reaching the Well: there is always inner movement and freedom. It reminds me of that basic myth pattern of the oppressed hero who goes down into a dark place to find the source of life.

The result when the hero emerges into the world is Change - which comes next in the I Ching. Contact with the source that never changes can mean radical change - such as moving the city (ego?) - in the world above. There is a huge story behind these few hexagrams - oppressed, turning inward; bringing back the water; causing revolution that throws out the old; establishing the new (Supanatural?s hexagram!). But there is a difference in the I Ching - the Well is not just a private quest, but a shared resource, designed to make the water accessible to everyone.

Over to the complement: 21, Biting Through. This is the mirror image of the Well, the way to understand what it isn?t as well as to build up a larger picture of the whole. There?s a picture in 21 of jaws biting together, meeting an obstacle. They keep on gnawing and biting through until they crush it, and are united. This means confronting an obstacle, tackling whatever is negative directly, persisting, dealing with it firmly - taking the bull by the horns. Unity comes when the resistance is broken through. The Well is the other side of the coin: the waters are already one, and they never went away. Coming together is a natural property of water: you don?t have to force it to flow, but you do have to care for and renovate the well. Create the opportunity for unity, keep the way open to the clear source, and the rest follows. A less direct approach, as Supanatural says, and also a different focus when confronted with problems.

Speaking of problems?
?The makers of the Yi had anxiety and sorrow, and so?
The Well is the earth of te? abides in place yet also moves ? discriminates what is right??
The Well is one of 9 hexagrams in this section of the Great Treatise - which seems fitting to me, since I know this hexagram as a resource when I?ve hit rock bottom. (Only go a little further in, said the oracle, and you will find the source?) The Well is the field of te, what nurtures it and makes its manifestation possible. You can stay in one place and also change; you can use it to tell what is right - morality also comes back to this source.

?

And then all this meets with the response of Enduring. The ideogram here is a wonderful sign of a heart, and a boat between two shores. The boat travels, the journey continues, and the heart is constant. This hexagram responds especially to the Well?s theme of change and permanence. It is the hexagram of perseverance, and in practical human terms as often as not means ?keep going, don?t change now, don?t give up?. The Image says as much: the wise disciple works with what is established, doesn?t keep changing direction. This fits with the work of the Well, which is unmoving for generations, and has to be maintained continuously.

But persevering isn?t only a matter of pressing on doggedly. This hexagram has one of the most insightful, revealing Commentaries (tuanzhuan) in the whole I Ching (I think).
?? Persevering success, no mistake.
Harvest in constancy.
Lasting in your tao.
The tao of heaven and earth.
Persevering lasting and not reaching a final end.
Harvest in having a direction to go.
Each end therefore has a new beginning.
The sun and moon have heaven, and so there can be lasting light.
The four seasons transform and change, and so there can be lasting accomplishment.
The sage lasts in her tao, and accomplishes change under heaven.
Contemplating the place where you persevere,
You see into the purposes of heaven and earth and the ten thousand things.?
So persevering is a matter of lasting in your tao - and every illustrative example for this is one of change. Changes make things that last; tao that lasts makes changes. It is good to have a sense of purpose, a direction to go, not because this is going to be a conclusive goal, but because every end means beginning. Things move on through cycles, not teleology. Lasting in your own tao, you encompass the cycle.

32 is the complement of 42, Increase. That is one part of the cycle, the rising wave of blessings, alternating with Decrease. From that perspective, it is right to adapt to the moment, live in the present and not to try to capture it by establishing permanent structures. This is a larger one - and I think it resolves 48?s inner tension between natural (and spiritual) permanence and human changeability. Conversely, #48 gives you a fair idea of the nature of your own tao and your ?place? - it is also what you are drawn to join with, through the impulse of Hexagram 31. Once joined - married, the oracle says - to what you belong with, this lasts!

(This is a lovely reading!)

The core - nuclear hexagram - of 32 is Hexagram 43, Deciding, which seems to me to show it in action. Lasting in your tao might mean speaking out clearly and at personal risk - though absolutely without aggression - to oust whatever is indecisive or lacking in purpose. But I suspect you knew that already
wink.gif

Um, you know those 9 hexagrams singled out in the Great Treatise? This is another of them.
?Persevering: solid, long-lasting te. Varied and not oppressive [or ?not wearied?]. In accord with undivided te.? It is what lasts over time, it is mingled and varied, yet absolutely indivisible.

Responding to the Well with Perseverance, creating a well that endures, the changing lines come as no surprise at all. You tile the well, keeping it in good repair for all. And there is clear, cold water to drink.

The step of change (result of changing just that line) for line 4 is #28, Great Excess. There is great strain, though ultimately in a spirit of fearless independence? a threat of breakdown under the (smothering?) weight of your own driving energy. But bring this to the reality of the Well, and the answer is simply maintenance, and nothing is wrong. And the step for line 5 is 46, Pushing Upward. This line is the well?s answer to positive ambition: it meets the honest desire to grow and progress with clear water. (And, of course, you respond to the source with growth.) Simple.

Last and maybe least, maybe not (I?m still working out how these fit in) - the patterns of change. If you look at each line place in your answer, and imagine an energy acting on it to make certain lines change? then you end up with Hexagram 45, showing the points of change with yang lines. The energy that makes Well become Persevering and vice versa (causality runs in more than one direction in the I Ching!) is Gathering Together. The king approaches the temple, and there is a great gathering of purpose. People share a vision, and dedicate substantial sacrifices to it. Or within an individual, many goals and ideals are focussed in one place. There is (as with 28) a risk that this could be too much all at once - especially, too much emotion - it calls for vigilance.

The other side of this is the complement of 45: 26, Great Taming, with the changes marked by yin, responsive lines. Gathering acts on the situation to create the connections and movement within it; Great Taming creates the space within which this is possible, the field for action. This is the successful farmer, controlling, taming and nurturing natural forces, rearing great animals that can be sacrificed (at a Gathering, maybe) and eaten. These are the resources that make it possible to move on from the familiar and cross great rivers.

What are you meant to do with either of these patterns? Another thing I?m working on! Usually this can be worked out from the perspective of the question, but of course this one is somewhat broader than most. I don?t think you have to identify with either pattern, or take them as advice. This is the ?how? and ?where? for your own work - you may find yourself working with either energy, as your own position changes.

?

I?d be very interested to hear what you make of all this!

Hello SupaNatural & Hilary,

I will begin by thanking you both, oh! so very much, for the sharing of your time and of your satisfyingly, deep insights. I imagine that I had a pretty good idea of what I was asking when I cast the coins on this, and by the looks of things (your respective interpretations) I did indeed. I don't think, though, that it required much *courage* to ask the question --I sincerely wished to know, in order that I may succeed in my efforts to honor my contract with Life. However, it did take some time before I decided to share it with the board.
happy.gif

I'm glad I did, though, and I sincerely hope that in doing so, it will make others not only aware that such a thing can be done but that the monetary investment of a private reading of this nature makes it evident that the true value far surpasses the actual expense. Besides, this sharing seems rather fitting to #48 The Well.
wink.gif

I'm continually amazed at the richness of the hexagrams and the plethora of information that can be gleaned from one or two hexagrams. It seems as though a hexagram is a tightly rolled up scroll containing considerable information and it is in the 'unfolding' that all the details and illustrations are released. Brilliant, me thinks!

When these hexagrams came up I immediately had an intuitive understanding of their significance. Indeed, the events and experiences of my life over the years has made all this quite evident to me. There is no doubt, at least not since I was quite young, that my intuitive knowledge about people and situations is, in their accuracy, my calling. Initially, the tricky part was in trying to figure out what to do with such knowledge, who to share it with, how and when. I've mastered a good deal of it, but I've still a long way to go before I feel a sense of true accomplishment.

This facet of my person was, back then, very disconcerting and overwhelming. I struggled within my relationships from the sheer weight of knowing more about others than they could ever possibly know about me. This was unbalancing because I had yet to learn to distinguish what was 'really' me versus what I was picking up from other people. Thankfully, I've pretty much figured out this part of my puzzle at this stage of my life.

The other side of living (death) has always been my closest companion (for various reasons which I will not get into at this time) and therefore, I have always made every effort necessary towards understanding my purpose and fulfilling it. In that sense, I know that my time here, and everyone else's for that matter, is very limited. As a result, I am not easily disposed to indulging others in their ignorance, and often my impatience doesn't allow me to suffer fools gladly ....and there's the rub. So sharing my insights (or the truth as I perceive it) has often met with reactions ranging from stubborn resistance to outright rejection. It makes no difference sometimes how kindly or indirectly the message is delivered either, in the attempt to render a subject matter easier to receive --sometimes the messenger *still* has to dodge a bullet.

This has been my dilemma all my life --trying to find an easy way to impart my 'knowing' without getting sidetracked by the other person's internal ego-design to remain in the dark. You are both so very right about my effectiveness relying greatly on 'subtly' (which oftentimes feels like some special art of 'manipulation' that I find most unappealing.) Still, I understand what you mean, but it's in putting it into practice where I sometimes realize too late that I've wasted time and energy doing it one way when another would have sufficed. But I live and I learn --I really have no other choice.
happy.gif

I don't wish to give the impression that I *never* get it right, though, because I do. My 'successes' sometimes depend on the stage of growth of the person I'm dealing with and sometimes they depend largely on my own continuing patience. And so I am learning to be more patient and less concerned with 'how' much time I have but I've also learned that sometimes, the direct and *less* subtle approach is in fact the most effective remedy under the circumstances. That too is another thing that I must learn to juggle along with everything else.

I am, and have always been, a constant source (hexgram 32) to others but it's getting others to see that they can indeed return that is not always in my control (at least as I see it now.) Sometimes I see myself like a specialized surgeon of the psyche and believe you me, I have not wanted to do this and, in fact, have felt this to be an imposition and intrusion from Life. So in my own way, I too resisted, the same way others resist my own *intrusions* now.

Cutting into others is a metaphor and an activity I would sooner leave to others who can remain unmoved. However much I would like to avoid it, it seems to be part of my path. And so, I try to administer as much 'medication' as possible to soften the experience for my 'patients', but perhaps I need to take into account the lower threshold for pain that others may suffer from and adjust the medication to their needs. In the end, I still must deal with the patients who are unwilling to deal with the pain of the healing process --a time when medication would actually be counterproductive-- without blaming the doctor for what they are feeling as a result of the surgery. (you do understand my descriptions as metaphorical and symbolic, right?)
happy.gif

Finally, the story of Tehuti is a wonderfully concise way to emphasize the utmost importance of understanding what we are doing and why. You, SupaNatural, have done an expert job of defining my destiny as an excellent teacher is wont to do --with the student in mind. I once again thank you greatly!
happy.gif
Hilary, you have done a masterful job as only you can do (don't think I didn't notice the great lengths you went to!) -- I appreciate the gift in your giving. There is so much here that, I agree with you, it will take a lifetime of chewing on.
happy.gif

I am following my path with my abundant courage and with my eye focused in the deepness of the Well. As surely as the sun will rise again tomorrow, I realize that my efforts at re-lining and maintaining The Well is a continuing process of my journey. Knowing *that* makes all the stumbling along the way understandable and that is, afterall, how the interpretations began...with the story of Tehuti and why he came to earth.
happy.gif

Thank you both....with love,
Dharma

Greetings To All...

Dharma, I'm sorry for my late response to your request, please forgive me. I really haven't ventured out this far, until just now. I'm posting here, because I haven't received a password yet.

The purpose of a destiny reading is to gain insight into why you're here on earth. The destiny reading will unify and give meaning to all of your experiences in life. All of your readings tie into your destiny reading. May I start with a short story?

Tehuti looked down at heru and said let me give you a destiny reading, and tell you why you came to earth. Heru replied I know why I came to earth. Tehuti said, listen my son, you've been battling Set to a draw. So, you are actually losing. Heru said how am I losing? Tehuti says, because you have not realised the purpose of your war. If you're battling Set, and you've lost focus of your war, you're actually losing. The purpose of your war is to put Ausar (Unity) back on the throne. Sets purpose is to keep you from realising that, so Set is actually winning the war, even though he hasn't gained any ground. Heru said Ahhaaaa. Tehuti said the reason you've come to earth is to put truth, justice, and righteousness back on the throne. tehuti said, if you're not focused on your purpose in life than you have lost twice. heru said, you mean to tell me, that if I invest money in a buisness, and I lose my money, but I don't realise that the lost was there to teach me something, I've lost twice? Tehuti said, I think you've answered your question my son. Tehuti said, if you don't realise that all of your experiences in life are there to teach you a lesson, and you focus on the losing, you lose twice, because first you'll lose your money, and 2nd you'll lose your health and vitality worrying about the lost, and losing your health and vitality will make you unable to fulfil your destiny.

Dharma the secret of the 48th Hexagram is tied up in the 50th Hexagram, the Ting. Those who are the keepers of the Ting, the Cauldron, the vessel through which superior men are nourished, have the oral tradition, that is the secret of the Well. The Well is the secret on how to manipulate people. So it had to be a secret knowledge. The Well is Fraud's Id. The Well is, the water of the Well, the symbolism of going down. If you look into a Well it is dark all the way down there. You send that bucket down with a rope, pick up that water and draw it back up. It is the Id. So the symbol of the well is Kan over Sun. Sun corresponds to the gentle, which really isn't so gentle. it is the Subtle power. You affect others through this subtle power. You have been doing this all of your life I bet? the more subtler the power, the more powerful it is. The H bomb is more subtler than TNT, but lord can it devastate. Kan is an excellent communicator. A person with this Hexagram has the ability to communicate to others both outwardly, and subtly. Both ways of communication have a devastating impact on others. the challenge here is to be able to dig down in your well (Pshyche) and to put things in order. the repairs that you are making are not in vain, you are fixing the well, for the service of others. You have come into this lifetime to prepare yourself for the service of others. Others will rely on you, and draw from your talents. others may misread you at first, but you are a good well (source). You have the ability to be a great leader, because of your powers of subtle influence. The compliment of the 48th Hexagram is the 21st Hexagram. The 21st Hexagram is oracular sanction to use punitive measures to correct others. in the Community that I was taught in, when the 21st Hexagram was on the tray, for those who would not yeild, we would work ritual against that person. I know you may think it's cruel, but it's no different than when an adult has warned a child, and the child will not yeild to the warnings, than the adult takes the belt out, and wacks the child, it's the same thing. In the 21st hexagram we take drastic measures against our self or others. The 48th Hexagram uses a more subtle approach. you have the ability to affect others, and influence them subtly, and others will view you as a source to draw from, as long as the Well is relined correctly. The Danger of this Hexagram is to becareful of the thoughts you may be nurturing here. These thoughts, when energized have the ability to reach out and strike others without physically touching them. That's why the well (Psyche) must be cleaned. That's why emotions must be supervised, espically here. Subtle power, and Hatred is a dangerous mix. The more pure the Well becomes, the more others will draw from you.

48 into 32 Your goal is to become a constant (32) source that others can draw from. I can go on and on, but this is a nice beginning.

I hope this helps you. Feedback please.

Destiny reading. Since Supa began talking about a destiny reading, the idea intrigued me, but with no small apprehension. I didn?t rush headlong into throwing such a reading for two reasons. One, I felt that my heart and mind needed preparation to look at such a potentially terrifying view of my life. Second, I didn?t want to misunderstand the Ching?s answer as being a ?destiny? reading, when it may in fact, it might be an answer to something less far reaching.

I arose to do the reading at 2am this morning. Focusing on the intensity of my question, I threw #45, lines in the 4th, 5th and 6th place. This ominously changed to (would you believe) #23.

I left the computer for a short while to contemplate the meaning. Cleaning up the mess left by others, wheeling out the trash can to the front of the house for weekly pickup, taking the dog out and feeding the cat. These things helped me to tune in and focus on the reading. There was a clear picture which appeared in my mind. This happened without dissecting my reading into comprehendible pieces, but was much more intuitive. Its was as though small pieces of my life softly gathered together around that which I?ve held to since my earliest memory as a young child, the compelling vision of God. Gathering others in the name of my Ruler, just fit the question.

As I read through each change line, I didn?t need to think about it very much, I just nodded and knew intuitively that, indeed, this has been the story of my 56 year old life. The sad sense of not being accepted into the folds of religion and culture, even family. The burning in the pit of my stomach to awaken others at the speed and intensity of my own awakening. This too, was a disappointment, as I found others to either be gathering around an institution, or sleeping unaware and unconcerned. I?m a sad and alone individual for these reasons.

How, especially after our discussions, am I to interpreter #23? I just got through saying in a post, that if I receive this hexagram now, I wouldn?t expect the demise of my body. But this is a destiny reading, after all, and not to be applied to anything else. I?m moving to a new place tomorrow and pondered, that may be what its relating to. But I?ve dismissed that. The question was clear, and the answer must apply.

I read the image once again. Thus those above can ensure their position only by giving generously to those below. I remember our discussions on it here. Those meanings and yet another came to mind. My spirit must continue to feed my earthly life. This all is transitory. I must stay focused on that fact and not become sidetracked into a compromise with the spirit, or in Christian vernacular, I must not grieve the spirit.

I?ve come to gather around my highest idea and ideal, and to lead others to gather. I?ve come to this life to gather myself and all its living parts. And after the gathering, I?ll split apart from this existence. The good fruit which I?ve gathered will continue on with me. The rest will simply be left behind.

This is my destiny reading and my own intuitive interpretation. If any are inclined or led to comment, I welcome your thoughts and insights.

Thanks to all here.

Greetings To All...

Dharma, I would like to share this with you. I was at work today, and I was sitting in my cubicle playing a lecture tape on the Tree Of Life Meditation system. I have a plant on my desk that was given to me by a lovely associate that works in another group. At the beginning of the tape, there is a libation chant. The chant was done by a Chief Diviner that I was very close with. When the Chant kicked in, I was staring at the plant, and I immediatley went into a trance. While I was in trance, I saw your person absorbing all kinds of things from your enviroment. I kept hearing the word Osmosis. When the Chant ended, I 'd realised that this had to do with your Incarnation objective (Destiny Reading). The reason that the Well has to be cleaned all the time, is because you also absorb things from your enviroment, and sometimes you think that they come from you. You absorb helpful as well as harmful things. Not only do you affect others, but you are also affected a great deal by subliminal forces in your enviroment. I saw an Image of you as the well, and not so clean people, taking from you, and leaving there germs behind. I hope this helps you to understand why the well must be cleaned, repaired, ETC... If you don't already have one, you may want to get a Cat's Eye Gem. It could be a ring, or a stone to wear around your neck. This should help to quiet the voices. I hope this helps you.

Thank you SupaNatural,

I have been aware of this tendency --to absorb my surroundings-- for some time now. It's pretty hard *not* being aware of it by this point.

As a result, I have learned to clean my aura regularly everyday in different ways. As long as I don't have too many people 'bombarding' me at the same time, in general I'm okay.

Speaking on this board, with all the different voices and intentions, has a certain power that I've had to adjust to. I will look into picking up a Cat's Eye gem --one can never have 'too' much help.

Greetings To All...

Candid, I thank you for sharing your reading with us all. I want to share this with everybody, some of you may all ready know it. Every single thing that can be said about the world, can be said about ourselves. All natural occurences that occur in the world, occur within Man/Woman. When we receive these readings, we're actually looking at what first must be addressed within ourselves, before it's manifested in the world.

When I was a very young man, I'd always been attracted to spiritual things. I've been active members to more than a few religious organizations. I was always put in positions to teach other members, but at the same time, I always ran into obstructions in these positions. I was a member of a group, where I learned to read, write and to speak, arabic, as well as Hebrew. I was very learned in biblical scholarship. I came across a passage, that talked about Thumim and Urim in the Bible, but I never really understood what these passages were speaking about. Eventually, I also left this orginization. I took a Job, where I ran into Man who had a similar background in spirituality as I, and he passed on a lecture tape. I listened to the tape, and was very impressed with the speaker. I did some research and I finally found a location where classes where being held. I attended the classes, and when I first heard the word oracle, I saw stars and heard a loud whistling in my ear. I began to attend all the classes and workshops that I could, both before and after work. My very first reading, was my Destiny reading. (Sun) within, and (Li) without. Before I was able to manifest these principles outwardly in my life, I had to first unify these two principles within my person. The subtle preception of truth in all things. I was taught that "Truth" is not synonomous with the word "Fact". "Truth" is the natural realationships between things, and how these things relate to the whole. Thats a whole other story that we can maybe deal with at another time.

But, I had to unify these forces, principles, Charkaras, psychic centers, or urges, within myself first. The ability to subtly precieve the interrelationships, and interdependence of all things within first, before I could begin to teach and to give readings to others. If I fail to unify these two forces within my person first, I'll once again begin to run into obstructions in these areas of my life. What I'm saying is, when we ask the Yi King these questions, and the answer that is given, does not become the manifested reality, it's often because of the failure to address the principles, Deities, or urges within, first. All things begin within. Things move first from the unseen to the seen. That's why the original rituals, rites, or internal work was so important to the Yi King. The reading was the prophecy, and the rites where the internal focus to fulfill that prophesy.

Even though the 50th hexagram may appear favorable, both trigrams, move in opposite directions, making it a little difficult to fulfill. It takes a lot of internal work, which helped me to understand why I've been a member of so many different orginizations. I was unable to percieve the interrelationship between all of the various spiritual orginizations, and their practices, thus I thought they were different religions. Now I know that these so called different paths, are integrable parts of a whole. It wasn't until I went through rites of passages, and multiple initiations, that I now feel comfortable in any orginization, or enviroment that I may find myself in. I hope this helps at least one person here.

Hi Supa.

Yes! I understand the feeling of being on the outside. Its interesting to me that others here have expressed that same trend in their formative years. I think part of that is due to our wandering natures. Its true that none of us get to stay here, we're just traveling through. That state of mind doesn't allow one to reside for very long in strictly established dogma, even if that dogma has been created by us.

Such insatiable curiosity creates inevitable conflicts in world, which holds to the view of conformity to the status quo. The irony of this is that, even in the most eclectic or "alternative" of belief systems, there forms the mores. The system comes together through great effort, and then turns into its opposite. Its at that point, I believe, when we pick up anchor and sale onward.

Thanks for your response.

We are truly inspired and heavenly protected. We are born with a natural and inherent sense of direction that is known by different names --intuition, inner guidance/wisdom and higher knowledge. We are each blessed with special talents uniquely our own. Our main purpose is to spiritualize our physical experience --to bring Heaven to Earth.

A snapshot of the stars at the moment of our birth is one of the many maps available to us for insight to the part we are here to play (as above, so below). On the downside, the Star in reverse reflects our ego that may blind us to our own acres of diamonds making us pessimistic, lacking in confidence and leaving us completely unaware of our spiritual riches.

Present Conditions= 6 of Pentacles
Each one of us deals with our personal and collective karma, repaying our debts and cashing in on our past investments. We receive what is rightfully ours from our past efforts and we invest in our future with every choice we make now. Wasteful spending of our time here, selfishness, carelessness, dishonesty and a continual dependancy on others to get us through, incurs bad debts that will eventually come home to roost. If not in this lifetime, then in another.

Challenge= 2 of Swords
Often we are uncertain which way to go. We feel a sense of stalemate and we suspend any action indefinitely. We are prone to suppressing our feelings and going nowhere fast. We cannot see clearly which path to choose, uncertain whether to follow our heads or our hearts so we keep a tight rein on our emotions and take a passive stance to life in response. Too often we use our intellectual defenses to avoid facing our feelings and only when the tension gets to be too great do emotions break through to the surface. Our tendency to war, strife and violence is proof of this.

Basis of Matter= 10 of Cups
We come from a world of giving, receiving and love. A world of bliss and tranquility where ALL are united in perfect harmony. Fulfillment and contentment is our truest nature and it has been disrupted since leaving our original home to enter this dimension. Joy, our most natural state, is what we strive to recapture in our efforts to make this a Heaven on Earth.

Immediate Past= 2 of Wands
Prior to our rebirth, there is a lack of activity and an inability to realize our potentials. There is a sense of futility because nothing seems to be happening. The chemical dimension of Earth allows us to fulfill our need to experience ourselves and our ideas in a detailed, step-by-step fashion that our natural home cannot offer, so we prepare for rebirth.

In the early, initial stages of our venture, we have great faith in our pending journey. We prepare and make solid plans for our lifetime ahead. We proceed with foresight and a well-thought out travel/relocation plan (the blueprint for our Destiny is a prearrangement).

Crowning Ideal= 3 of Swords
However, this is a vibrationally heavy world dominated by pain and turbulent emotions. We are easily prone to narcissistic injury, irritability, and conflict with ourselves and each other as a result. We fall into the illusion of separation where all neurotic behavior is born.

In this world, because we are born, we must also meet death and all the sorrow and grief that that brings. In the chemical region, our heavy emotional thought processes develop into illnesses and bodily pain so that we may learn how our thoughts translate into form. Thoughts of joy and trust in the Universe will naturally give birth to wholeness while those of heavier vibration will create mutations and distortions of various degrees.

Next Turn of Events= 4 of Pentacles
We are material creatures of comfort always seeking to secure and hold on to our possessions. We continue to be overcautious, rigidly holding to deeply ingrained beliefs and blindly maintaining the status quo. We fear trusting and letting go. Thus our material interests block our emotional growth making us prone to greed and unwarranted fear of poverty.

The physical form inclines us to timidity and suspicion. The ego-body, left to it's own devices, lacks a natural sense of initiative and frequently suffers from the dis-ease of "I-can't-get-no-satisfaction". Excessively defensive, we need to re-directed ourselves and that can only happen when we are CONSCIOUS of what we are doing.

Inner World/Attitude= The Magician
Truly, we are Magicians at our very cores. We have the power to transform ourselves and our outer world experience through sheer will-power. We have a natural ability to harness creative forces. By making decisions, using divination, and our trial and error learning, we reveal ourselves to be self-determining entities. Our propensity to invent things and our modern technology are living proof of this.

By focusing our attention, we realize our potential. By manipulating the forces of nature, we can achieve your goals. However, the Magician contains within him the seeds of impotence and reluctance to take chances, or he sets unrealistic goals or makes mistakes and does not learn from them. Abuse of our talents and/or our inhibitions keep us out of touch with our feminine intuitive side which makes us excessively focus on manipulating the external world.

Outer Environment= Knight of Pentacles
Our outer world (the illusions and the paradigms) have us completely enthralled. We are so attentive to the enjoyment of simple pleasures and reproducing ourselves. Our species advances slowly yet steadily. Time truly heals all our wounds. But again, our focus is on the tangible results which makes us unaware how the outer world is really created and built from our mental constructs. In that sense, though we work hard indeed to survive we are often uninspired and too conservative to glimpse our true spiritual nature.

Illusions= 7 of Pentacles
We get overwhelmed with all the choices that the physical world provides us with. We reflect on our worldly accomplishments as our gauge for whether we are doing well. We assess and plan our time here as a choice between risk and security. We may prematurely cease our efforts because we believe that the risk to our security is too high.

We must still learn how to reassess and reevaluate our individual and collective progresses by judging the rewards we get using a DIFFERENT standard than we have thus far been doing. Also, we fail to make the connection that our health is directly affected by anxiety, hopelessness, self-pity and our unwillingness to see matters through to completion.

Probable Outcome= 8 of Pentacles
Earth is indeed our school where we learn and self-improve. By acquiring skills and applying our effort we each have the potential to become teachers --able to pass on our knowledge to others. Dedication and perserverance to making this a Heaven on Earth is ALL of mankind's purpose. Finding the type of work that is truly absorbing where our hearts are completely in it, and where our time and effort pays off --that is our INDIVIDUAL purpose.

To do our homework right and to be a good worker means learning in what ways we delude ourselves --how we cut corners, not really living up to our potential. It means learning how we misuse our skills --offering up poor quality to ourselves and to others through con games, unethical treatment and just plain thoughtlessness and incompetence. It means learning in what ways we are our worst enemies --how we belittle, berate and self-criticize at every turn and how our second-rate efforts leave us in unrewarding work situations indefinitely.

Long-term Influence= King of Pentacles
Throughout our history, we have learned materialistic discipline and control but we are still learning how to be more thorough, content, and gentle in achieving our goals. The flip side of responsibility, caring and common-sense are the worst traits we have seen mankind exhibit over time. Amongst them, superficiality, insensitivity, crudeness, paranoia, self-indulgence. Only when we see the MIGHT behind kindliness and calmness will we experience the beauty contained within true power --Mother Nature is the perfect model. She ultimately reflects the roots to which we must return.

Greetings To All...

Louise, I don't believe that the Method is more important than the Message. I firmly believe that it's not what you throw, it's the Insight that you bring to it.
I hope This Helps
