I asked "what effect does playing computer games has on my body health and spirit " and got hexagram 8 (no changing lines) and hidden hexagram 23
what does this mean ?
Really im asking this as some kind of test to yi jing - expected something that says it is a dangour to health or some bad hexagram - and 8 doesnt seem to be the case
hexgram 23 seems more like a fitting reply - but it is not the main hexgram - so not sure how i interpret this - cause 8 seems pretty positive
i understand you do read the hidden hexgram too thoguh

And advice to the superior man isHOLDING TOGETHER brings good fortune.
Inquire of the oracle once again
Whether you possess sublimity, constancy, and perseverance;
Then there is no blame.
Those who are uncertain gradually join.
Whoever come too late
Meets with misfortune.
Thus the kings of antiquity
Bestowed the different states as fiefs
And cultivated friendly relations
With the feudal lords.
Yes! This idea of "testing" the Yijing to "prove" that it works seems doomed to me. If you start with that intention in mind, then the Yijing is quite likely to respond to that intention as your question. It knows you aren't really asking about computer games, you're asking for reassurance, evidence, that it works. I made a joke the other day about asking the Yi what you had for breakfast, and you didn't respond well. Well, if you ask it what's in the glass in front of you to test it, it's not necessarily going to give you Water above Water. It's much more likely to give advice about how to use the Yi so that you learn to trust it -- such as through regular use over an extended period, asking questions that are genuinely meaningful to you.Hi Yarrowstalk
I was belatedly drawn to this post mostly because of the other posts you have made about needing to prove the I Ching works and building up trust in your own ability to read. You certainly have posed the question around your playing computer games however hidden away inside you has been this desire to 'really look for ways to test the yi jing'. What lies underneath when we ask a question can sometimes have a stronger calling than what is on the surface and Yi at times answers the deeper issue that is troubling you.
Wilhelm translates the Judgement of hex 8
And advice to the superior man is
So Hex 8 holds advice for you that says you can enquire of the oracle time after time. There is no fault in that whatever your reasons or in whatever way you chose to approach the oracle. "Those who are uncertain gradually join" however, if you leave the prevarication for too long then you are met with misfortune - you miss the boat!!
The noble one is best advised to understand the different factions in his state, and to focus on cultivating 'friendly relations' with the leader. The tenants of a fief is not the leaders that need to be followed or befriended.
Currently your situation is unchanging and has a stability to it. Misfortune only really comes about at 8.6 where correct ways of leadership have not been properly embraced.
Your 'hidden message' is answered in 'hidden hexagram' Hex 23. This nuclear hexagram of Hex 8 can be seen as what is driving the situation (from underneath and inside) around your query and unrest. In Hex 23 the forces of disintegration are at hand, slowly dismantling the old order of things.
In the end this divination may be a reply about computer games.....or it may not be. It is your divination and so it is your responsibility to make appropriate meaning for you.
Good Luck
however, if you leave the prevarication for too long then you are met with misfortune - you miss the boat!!
