FAQ about board bugs?

I am getting all the notorious bugs that are affecting the forum software:

-when I post a reply it tells me it can't post a duplicate (it's actually already posted and tries to post twice)
-when I click edit post I get a spinning circle and have to start a new tab

and so on.

If this cannot be fixed soon, may I suggest that a READ ME be posted at the top of each forum for new users? I am sure they would be very confused and discouraged otherwise.

1. There already is a sticky at the top of Shared Readings click here

2. The only person who needs to see this message is Hilary the site owner. She is highly unlikely to see your request here, it's hit and miss whether she does or doesn't so you either need to send her a PM or if you are in CC you can [MENTION=252]hilary[/MENTION] which tags her. If you aren't in CC you can't tag her so you'd need to send her a message. I've tagged her so she will see this post.

Gotcha, good points, thanks. I see in the Shared Readings sticky there is a reference to the edit bug but not the duplicate bug. Well now that you've tagged her hopefully she'll see this. :)

The duplicate thing has been going for 15 years at least, one just gets used to it as part of the furniture.

My latest issue is I have trouble seeing my PMs since hovering over 'Community' to get to places often just doesn't work so I have to go to my profile.

But there is going to be a mass - can't think of the word, what wilderbeest do, what do you call it 'emigration' ? there's a mass emigration to some new host or something like that in the pipeline. In the process some of us will be washed away downstream I imagine.

Migration to new and improved forum software is in the pipeline: we're just waiting for VaultWiki, the software behind WikiWing, to be available for the new software. Currently it's in its first beta iteration, so they're getting there.

If hovering over 'Community' doesn’t give you the menu, that would be because the page hasn't finished loading. Slow internet at your end, or ambient slowness at Clarity's. New and improved software should be faster, too...
