Hi all!

I asked 'What to expect for the next month in my new job?' and got 41.1 to 4;

Backdrop: I just graduated and now I have gotten a dreamjob. Now that I have it I am unable to relax and unsure of my place between my co-workers. They are all impressive personalities. I have lots of freedom in my job and I love it. At the same time I completely unexperienced in my job and looking for guidance. I haven't gotten any feedback about my functioning yet and I am sooo freaking out about everything it's just terrible. The surviver inside of me can't believe that I can be this lucky in life, and I worry I am sabotaging myself with my stress and inner insecurity.

Seems to reflect my current state in wanting to give to much to quickly with the relating 4th hex I see myself as the student, the beginner.

Other insights would be really helpful. :brickwall:

I've copied a few of my experiences from WikiWing

Numerous experiences with this line have described for me someone who is brushing something off, dealing with it quickly, giving it less attention, less importance. As advice I feel it must be to deal with whatever has arisen with minimum fuss and move on quickly to the next task. Give it your attention, then move on. When seen as a description of what others are doing it can appear brusque. (Trojina)

I was wondering whether to get rid of an old shoe cupboard that wasn't much use anymore. I am always cautious about getting rid of things. I wondered if I gave it away might I regret it . I asked Yi and received this line. Immediately it was clear I needed to stop the inner discussion, end the business and swiftly remove it. This line can show far to much energy wasted in endless inner debate as well as outer. I got rid of it immediately and have had no regrets since. A very clear answer from Yi. With this line one is tempted to think there is more to know(fan yao 4.1) more to deliberate over, but there isn't.(Trojina)

Relating my sense of the line to what you say

At the same time I completely unexperienced in my job and looking for guidance. I haven't gotten any feedback about my functioning yet and I am sooo freaking out about everything it's just terrible
.

Reduce the stress by a 'just do it' frame of mind. You may be looking for drawbacks or problems where there aren't any. I'd say keep your mind 100% on what you are doing rather than have your mind half on how you are being evaluated....and you know what, I think 'they' are all too busy to sort of pay attention to evaluating you, maybe they just want you to get on with it as you see fit ?

Do things and go on to the next task, don't wait for evaluation. I suspect the less 'fuss' you make about things (not saying you are fussing) the more efficient they think you are. Looks like you are there to get things done !

Sorry for the late reaction Trojan :) But often times I find that waiting a little with responding helps me to get a deeper insight in the reading.

Give it your attention, then move on.

We had a massive heatwave the last two weeks here in Belgium and my attention was drawn from work towards hanging with friends, evenings by the water and also a favourite festival helped me get my mind of my otherwise way to busy brain. These diversions helped me to let go of the stress. I feel less stressed out and more relaxed now.

Just stumbled on this old post of mine.

I quit that job 8 months after I started it, not the big dreamjob after all. The impressive personalities of my co-workers became my reason to leave that workplace as it felt toxic to me. I had some difficulty with making that decision because of my own high expectations of the job and my possible career development with it.

But after the decision was made I certainly brought my business there swiftly to an end. I never looked back, moved on towards my current job, were I am quite happy to be.
