I tossed the stick
and then she looked at me, as though to say...
come on, you really expect me to fetch that?
and then she
ever so eloquently
leapt ore the dune
and like a dove she flew back again
and dropped the stick at my head
as I laid in the sand

thank You Chushel

A sub-title of this image is “ephemeral and eternal”
54 is not a wonderful place to be, you are afterall, the second wife , but the key here , I think is to assent or consent (?) (I don’t know if it’s the right translation of a Greek word I have in mind. Its not exactly compromise or accept, its more powerful and more from within.)

I’m curious, what you see in that image, if you want to share of course

Maria:
I don't know how well I can speak about my experience of this but I'll give it a try.

Wilhelm says about this Hex: "describes the Great Meaning of Heaven and Earth"
That part does not seem to often enter into the way this Hex is usually seen, but it has always struck me with a sense of wonder.
Your image captures the Presence {" ephemeral and eternal" } of those words.
It unites for me a " Sensing " of those Forces at work{ in this hex.}
Movement of clouds and waves -- the vast expanses of both. The beautiful, carefully wrought and transitory sandcastle. The two figures--
{ separate but connected -- with the thought of--but are they really just one? }
The combination of all of the above deepens me into an intuition of wholeness that wasn't there before.
When I receive this hex in the future, it will have a much larger landscape of meaning for me.

Thank you very much for sharing your experience Chushel. I really enjoy reading them. Most of the times, its not easy to me, to understand those commentaries of Wilhelm about Heaven and Earth, but what you say makes sense, so thanks for that.

For that I have no answer, they are the same woman, but are they ? Not sure either. Is it the present (sandcastle) and the future (castle) or both is now ? Sometimes I see it as she is looking at a magic mirror that shows her other face.

See, its hard, even for me to explain what I made, what does it mean. What I know, it since I made that image, there are many times I need to bring it into my mind and always brings a peaceful feeling ,it tranquilize me.

Perhaps, one of the meaning of 54 is to make peace with the difficult situation and not let them put you down and fail to see the wave-path that leads to the solid castle .

standing wave:
29/39/52?
streaming water, iterations, standing waves, interference-patterns, reflections and resonations: in short, a depiction of processes in the yi. The iterations (three stones) in the stream can stand for moving lines, depending on postion they either help the process of streaming or interfere with that process.
Here the 3 stones help to depict an image of 3 mountains, and the relecting sun makes it all possible to see.
but there is much more to see and unfoil, if you like.
It also could serve as an oracle, like the cracks in the turtle-shells. Here photography to over that ritual process of cracking sheels. Here the observer (Me) asked if the process of the yi could be depicted.

thank you Bruce !!! :bows:

I have an inner conflict whether i should study more graphic images or not hense I really don't try to improve my skills. Since i started doing that I stop painting. But I like the "tool". It makes it easier to bring out the images i have into mind. its kind of 39. the way of water, looking for the path of less resistance.

dear Maria,

you are being modest (15).
In my experience the improving continues, even when you are doing other techniques. Working on computer is great for improving composition and play, that will also have its workings in "real" painting. Don't bother.
I have a conflict like that with photography and painting. I always think I should paint more, but the camera is so addictive. Then, when I start painting again I have to take an enormous threshold, think I can't do it anymore, lost most of my skills. And every time I was just fearing my own fears, I lost nothing, only some irrelevant frills.

oh, and when you do start painting again you will see your vision on painting has slightly changed.

i believe you are right about the composition. The "undo" is easier ;) than in real paintings.
