Health Care Reform Debate this week before Aug. Recess of U.S. Congress...

The newspapers lately have brought news of the twists and turns of the Health Care Reform debate in the U.S. Congress growing to a crescendo with the impending August recess and Pres. Obama's deadline for passing a suitable bill by each chamber before they leave the Capitol building for their home districts.

First I asked the Yi about the success of the Health Care Reform bills:

Hex 44 without moving lines. Which I took to describe Nancy Pelosi consorting with the various male Congressmen looking for agreement on a bill.

That seemed intriguing, insightful, but not very promising for the result this week...

So I cast again on the specific question of the final result of the negotiations this week in both houses:

Hex54.1,2,3,4 >> Hex 15 or in Flux Tome Names Chasing Rainbows>> Churning.

Hex 54 is about individual lust taking respectable form in the various marriage options for a youngest daughter who has intrigued the fancy of an oldest son. Each line can be seen as describing the course of political negotiations in sequence from first to 4th line.

In Wilhelm, hex 15 has a totally favorable impression from the high value Modesty held for Confucian commentaries.

Gia-fu, in normal oracle use referred to hex 15 as close to hex 2 and thus referring to emptiness or zero or nothing there.

In my structural approach, hex 15 has all focus upon the third line of personal passion with these passions completely isolated or purified by all the open Yin places.

In our local Las Vegas newspaper, they note that our three Rep. all voted NO on current bills. The Republican complained, that if the so-called government run public option is so great the bill should require all members of Congress to sign up. They have their health care through a Federal program which was one of the first public options considered to be opened up to all Americans. Members rejected that as not wanting to share their great plan with the mere common folk or hoi polloi the people of the pollis of Athens who voted in their democracy.

One Democrat whose district has many elderly, felt the bill was a "bass-awkward" approach and should put more emphasis upon end-of-life care than on prevention.

The other Democrat supports covering the uninsured, but not by taxing the folks in her district making more than $350K annually.

Our Senators are Sen Majority Leader Harry Reid and Casino Johnny Ensign of the C Street convent which the paper political cartoon noted, should resign, but as our even sleazier gov would appoint his replacement should no resign...

How would you interpret these Yi Oracles of Hex 44 >> Hex 44

I noted each of the 4 moving lines in the mix. I like the image of the slave finding a home as concubine under the roof some wealthy fellow who bought her... hex 54 >> hex 15 can also mean nothing happening or just lots of Churning...

So I cast the Oracle again for what happens over the next two weeks as the final result since so much is Churning and so little yet manifest... wondering if it were the time frame or as in the Woody Guthrie song of the stew folks were eating all watered down till folks could see through it though not necessarily the Congress:

Cast my quarters to get: hex 58.1,2,6 >> hex 12 that does sound like a lot of discussion going to NO EXIT. Sounded bad, so I cast a third and final time: hex12.2,4,5,6 >> hex7:

I always appreciate when I wonder what the resultant means and so I cast again and the Yi Oracle hexagram is then that same hexagram as my Resultant only now with moving lines to show its dynamic. Clearly not a probability controlled choice.

Sounds like it will be up to folks back home to make clear to their Congressional Reps and Senators if they are OK with their actions and their interpretation of the Golden Rule--whoever pays them the most gets to buy their votes.

I am talking off topic here, and not in any kind of academic way, with just my observations Frank, that this is not a good time for "Change". Maybe in a few years conditions will be better. It is just something I notice from getting involved and working really hard, actually, on several issues. I actually ended up being the spokesperson in a commercial played in my State for health care reform, (unpaid of course), was the State's witness when the Attorney General recently challenged an insurance company on rate hikes, was asked to speak at rallies, etc ...I have been visible in this struggle, and what I am seeing is not encouraging. What the Yi is saying makes sense to me.

Health Care Reform is Still On Track, that's why the opposition so fierce now...

Health Care Reform is tough, there is at least $400 billion/year in excess profits in the system as it is which means all the money in the world for campaign contributions and TV ads, etc. However, now is the time to actually make it different and Change is happening despite the silence of those who know what is going on and all the talking by those who don't and don't want anyone to think anything better is possible.

The move from hex 58 to 12 is what you are describing--hex 58 lots of discussion tending towards hex 12, the natural reality of sunshine over the earth just making desert. However, then the final Oracle is hex 12>> hex7. All that despair and status quo serves to benefit Obama's message of Change showing he has tried every which way to accommodate the Conservatives of the Status Quo (benefits them). That is hex 12--line 2. Then there are the 3 moving lines of the upper trigram, the power of Sunshine energy and human effort that breaks up the baked sod and succeeds in its agriculture.

The final resultant is hex 7, the power of the people. Yes, our leaders can not change much by their own efforts, the system is rigged a different way. Yet, the power of the people to enforce their will is quite amazing, if and when they get it together to insist upon something right and good... It's coming. Certainly not this week, but by September all sorts of things will be most different. Keep the Faith, it is always darkest in the hour before the Dawn.

I clicked the link and reported my prior call to Sen Ensign to leave a message for him with his cheery receptionist, asking him to renounce his C St cult who idolize Hitler, Osama Bin Laden, etc and use their prayer breakfasts and foreign junkets to promote their wealth and power for the elite agenda. He rejects Health Care Reform and would have to give up his C St ties to accept health care reform. As Will Crystal admitted to Jon Stewart, VA health care is government run health care, a bit expensive but excellent, only he said only military veterans deserve such good health care, regular folks should only be allowed private health insurance...

As a fan of history, I like the "Ring Around the Rosie" rallies with children singing and acting out that traditional expression of the resilience of children. The adults could give fliers to Congress persons and media explaining "the Rosie" was the name children gave to the many bubonic corpses in their neighborhoods that they played amongst. The posies in their pockets were to sweeten the smell, the ashes, ashes were from the bone fires or bonfires to dispose of the Rosies and the all fall down was what they saw happen as new victims dropped from the Black Death.

The CDC now has traced connections of the current H1N1 pandemic to the Spanish Flu DNA (cf. http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/eid/vol12no01/05-0979.htm)

All part of the hex 12.2,4,5,6>> hex 7 process...

The House finished their session actually passing various Health Care Reform Bills with a deadline of 15 Sept to finish their debate. The Dems decided to stop bickering amongst themselves and passed a bill that outlaws pre-existing condition limitations, subsidies for lower income folks and at least a national marketplace for competition, and rejected a Repub bid to strip out a public option to compete with private insurance, also include Fed gov negotiation with drug companies to lower medicare drug prices.

So, they did indeed manage a bill and a better bill than it looked like recently. The pundits note that there are demonstrations in DC by all sorts of folks for interests, no one has come out into the streets for health care reform, which is what hex12>>hex7 is all about.

The process moves forward through August...

The House democrats came together to complete a draft of their bill before leaving, the Senate is still gelling (they are strange generally, either old, sick or tired of it all or just out to lunch on a permanent basis).

The media is going crazy without anything else to fret about, Lynn Sweet said she came up with the idea of asking about the Gates incident, since the journalists were already tired of the Health Care talking points and hoping for something else to cover.

The Republicans are pushing all their old buttons and hoping to make hay and have folks upset at town hall meetings fearing that this evil government health care plan would interfere with their medicare and not believing when told it is already single payer government run health care.

But I wondered what is going on with the media so determined Obama is in major trouble from his many 'mistakes' but it also seems more a case like in Lao Tzu that in order to crush opposition it is important to let it fully expand first and exhaust itself and stretch its supply lines and the like.

Asked the Yi: What happens to "Obamacare" in from now to 15 September:
hex8.2,3,5>>46 which is one of the nicer oracles with so many yin lines to start with. Big point is that August time to stop trying to keep on board those who will never support reform and then just work hard to push it through...

Sen Ensign of NV and Health Care issues...

I drove to the Federal Ct house in LV to accept my fair share of abuse at the "Heat Up Congress" Health Care Rally. Then I went up to our two Senators offices as the only suites on the Penthouse level. I wondered at the irony of their being not in the Federal Building across the st, but in the Federal Court House. I thought that was a bit of irony. But as I stood out on the street with my sign saying 83% support the public option, I noticed the Federal Building across the street, It is only a few stories high, and the Federal Courthouse is much more. The best penthouse views are in the Courthouse building--mystery solved.

I dropped by Sen Ensign's office and asked if he were available to meet me as his constituent. I was told he rarely if ever comes to this office, his supporters are in DC. When I raised questions about that, the staffer got huffy and threatened to call security. She had a lot of problems with my questions, though she did give me the official clipboard to write my comments. A few more of my questions upset her and she some more threatened to have my escorted out for not allowing her to do as she would. I told her I was on my way after this visit to see Sen Reid's office at the other end of the hall.

As I left I asked if she had a name, and she replied that she did NOT. I thought that strange, so I asked were she an illegal alien hiding out in this office. She made no reply, so I thought I had an obligation to alert the authorities that something strange was going on in the Senator's office under their belief he would never open the door to catch them. She seemed more miffed in general throughout my interactions, so I wondered if she were upset that she did not get the special treatment from Ensign as another staffer, Cindy Hampton did, including private relations and $96K from Ensign's father (he has been bailing his boy, called Casino Johnny in the old days for ever).

When I walked by the demonstration out front, some folks were still there though it was past the allotted time. As I chatted with them, a police cruiser pulled up, saying his Captain had dispatched him to check on the demonstration. Since we had LV's finest right there, I related to him the "I don't have a name" comment which he said was strange, so I officially gave him the tip that strange things were going on in that office that Ensign never comes to or supervises and asked the police to investigate.

Hexagram 46 working itself out I guess.

My congressman told me 'it's a street fight out there'. It is. I had to take a time out. Suspect players behind the scenes feeding Palin and egging her on to hype and hysteria 'baby killing' types of lies to get the right all riled up and fighting. Preparing a divide for 2010 elections. Nasty stuff. Smell Rove anyone? The fringe left in the Bush years was all about 9/11 and the fringe right during Obama is all about 'Socialism' and quoting Alex Jones. How do I know Insurance companies are inciting the brawl on the right? Well, you don't see these people storming the Federal Reserve about 24 trillion given to bankers with no accountability. No, you see them storming town halls obscuring debate with their neighbors and fighting against their own healthcare.

Rachel Maddow Show had a few graphics showing the Health Insurance industry profits soaring from under $3billion to over $10 billion in the past 7 years. They say the cost of insuring all Americans less than the $400 billion/yr in excess administration costs and profit-bonus in the industry.
