Hi,
I'd appreciate any help given. I asked the question " what outlook does the Iching for see if I continue to hope for a united family" I have seperated from my husband for over a year . We have 4 children , one with special needs and as everyone knows they don't win in these situations . I think i see them beginning to struggle now with the situation very much. There wasn't any outside person involved in the breakup . Him not working , me working full time . Massive financial pressure. House repossed blah blah blah . I will admit that I was quite nasty to him in the things I said . It was me who posed for the split. Going by R L Wing book line 2 says with the correct attitude this can come about but line 3 is contradicting this?
Also yesterday I asked the Iching " can the Iching tell me if there is a future for D and myself together" I got hex 52.3.4 > 35 . This is telling me to work on myself and let things be in time this will be a future?
Thank you if you can help with this

Shalom

What outlook does the I Ching for see if I continue to hope for a united family?

49.2.3>58

Hexagram 49 is about revolutionary change or transformation so that the old is replaced by the new. So, it seems that this hope for "unity" from the ashes of the old is possible.

Line 2: You've made the change now you have to see it through with due diligence and respect to everyone involved. I've always found this line to mean that you're basically on track to achieving what you desire provided you make suitable preparations. I've never found it to mean go at it like a juggernaut down the highway...Not at all. A year is not that long for such a radical change, after all. It just means you have what it takes to capitalise on the revolution set in motion and ensure it has a successful outcome for all.

Line 3: The correct positional power and preparation shown in line 2 is then supported by the fulcrum point of this line which cautions against any precipitate action. i.e. don't be hasty and respect the process of change needs time to adjust. So, you may need more patience yet awhile.Yet, it doesn't mean do nothing either, hence the balancing act of patience and practical attention to what the next phase demands. Let your wish for unity permeate the proceedings. This may mean a lot of discussion, brainstorming ideas and advice from the family and those outside the family dynamic so that a more objective overview can be found. You'll know when the time is right to move ahead more vigorously.

Overall, I think it points to a resolution if you pay attention to timing and manage to control the see-saw dynamic of line 3 so that change is nicely balanced between your needs, your family and the adaptations to the new future that awaits you all. The background hexagram of 58 suggests that harmony/joy can be re-established towards a new unity. It might not be ideal of course, but a big improvement could be achieved provided you respect the preparatory steps and right timing.

The future between D. and yourself is likely to be resolved - one way or another - when you've addressed H.49. So, I think the Yi is saying quiet your desire for this particular resolution at the moment and let things find their rhythm. Do that and there is progress involved, hence the background hex of 35.

Good luck.

Thank you Tohpol. That response took a bit of time for you and I really appreciate that . I will pay it forward to others for you. I felt that it was telling me to wait and bide my time . I'm relatively new to the Iching but have much respect for it already. Thank you again X .
