Hi everyone,

I asked the Yi about what are someones feelings for me - and was shocked to get the reply of hexagram 1 with lines 1,2,3,4 and 5 changing to 23! Heaven - changing to "splitting apart"? I am stumped! Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Regards,

Don

23 covers pruning. Cutting things back to core essentials, removing the chaff from the wheat. As such it also represents the last bastion of 'structure' - but of a particular structure, the one promoted by the pruner.

Just as the companion of 23, 02, reflects both total, unconditional, darkness as well as total, unconditional, devotion to another, so 23 reflects the conditional side of things.

To get an idea of where 23 comes from, the mud/clay from which it is made, we can make an analogy in desribing the infrastructure of 23 to hexagram 24 with ITS generic focus on returning to the 'one true' path.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your insight. However, I am still having trouble relating this reading to how someone feels about me. My best guess is that although there are feelings for me - that things are now getting down to what is real - and what is not...But I admit, I am not certain of this....Can you give me any more insight?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Don,

Let me just say that it seems that you are emotionaly overwhelmed by this lady (or man?). Five changing lines tells me that to much emotions are involved and by getting hexagram 1 first the Yi is showing you the level of energy that?s inside you towards this woman, which is probably way to much, all those yang lines..., and that?s why the Yi is saying... let it go... not her, but the energy in the head, in the heart, and o hell yeah on some other spot too :-D...! Let go... and relax...

If you change all the changing lines that change into YANG, as yang is ?action?, and changing lines do CHANGE, so there is action, you get hexagram 43 (changing lines on those positions the lines are changing. By reading changing lines as Yang you receive a hexagram what I called the ?Confrontational? hexagram, so 43 is confronting you with something. 43 is about purity, as the last line in positon 6, the Yin, the dark, is pushed out by those other five Yang, and the light, lines.

So, just relax and confront yourself with purity.
That could also mean, as that was your original question (?), that SHE (HE?) thinks that you should let go the to much attention and become relax and pure...

I hope I made some sense what so ever.

Hi Frank,

Thanks for your message. What you say, in general, makes sense. I can understand how the Yi is telling me that she wants me to "tone down" my intense feelings for her. (and it is a her) I can understand that.

I met with her yesterday and we had a nice time together. I was not intense, etc and we had a good time. I will be following this emotional path and see where it leads......

Again, much appreciated. And if you have any other thoughts....please pass them along!

Hi all,

Today I met with the woman to whom I am attracted. We met for coffee, and had a nice time. After we parted, I asked of the Yi:

"What is the status of the relationship between "her" and I?". The answer was 62.2.4.5 changing to 48.

I sense that the Yi is addressing the fact that I am attracted to her, and would like to advance my relationship with her. Here is what I read: 62 means to not attempt anything "large" at this time, stay "small" in my actions towards her. Line 2 shows that I should show restraint. Line 4 refers to yielding and modesty - not to move ahead with my desired "plan" or "agenda" - to do so would be dangerous. Line 5 recommends that I should not shut down any and all attempts - but as the previous lines say, make small steps. The resulting hexagram 48 - I take to mean that there is a potential for our relationship.

Somewhat encouraging. Please advise as to how you read these lines.

Many Thanks,

Don

Hi Don,

Hexagram 62 to me is about trying to stay low for a while and not go for the big price imidiatly. The bird in the Judgement tells you to stay low.

By changing line 2 you get hexagram 32, the hexagram about stabilty, duration, the basic...
There should be a basis between you two first. As line 2 is also the line that will give you hexagram 7, the hexagram about tactics, once you should change this line ONLY and make the line YANG..., it's a matter of thinking over every step and looking to responses.

By changing line 4 ONLY you get hexagram 15, so steps outside, as line 4 is the first line in the upper trigram, the outside, towards her, the Yi is warning you not to go to fast. And fight the enthousiasm, as this is the yang line of hex. 16... enthousiasm...

By changing line 5 you get hexagram 31. Influence her on a more subbtle level then you did sofar, by making your own base more stable, not going to fast and perhaps let her handle things more, or at least be equal in this, and do not try to control this situation to much.

When putting all the changing lines together, which makes lines 2,4 & 5 Yang lines, you get hexagram 47... You are confronted with worries, where the Yi is trying to teach you how to handle them while being in this situation.

Hexagram 48, as the 'final outcome' is telling you that you should be aware that everything is temporary, meeting people, learning from them, let yourself be inspired by them, but also letting go of the worries you have... Try to feel more closeness to your inner soul first, before getting after someone who is needed to get you there...

I hope it does make some sense.

Frank
