Hexagram 1

Hello,
I’m new here and looking for someone to help me with a reading. Following a particularly upsetting altercation with a friend of a friend, completely out of the blue, and feeling somewhat lost as what I should do about this I decided to consult the i-ching. I do readings for myself when I feel lost for an answer, I can’t say that the answers I get make sense straight away, but mostly after allowing for a time of processing they have a strange way of unfolding for want of a better word. However, this time and with desperate need for an answer I cast Hexagram 1. Funny enough this made me think of two very unrelated, nothing to do with the Hexagram itself thoughts. These two thoughts are sayings, one by a relative when I was a child and the other by a friend a few years ago, both of these people have now passed away and it is really strange that I should be thinking of these when I read this hexagram. I would be grateful if someone would give me their understanding of hexagram 1, to help clarify my own thoughts on the matter. Thanks.

I don't have very clear thoughts about your answer but noone has answered yet so.. I think hex 1 unchanging can indicate pure spirit or life energy moving in the situation..I'd think I'd pay alot of attention to the sayings you recalled ...surely these sayings must have a bearing on the topic in question and to me it isn't far fetched to suppose that these 2 people were connecting with you in a dynamic kind of hex 1 way to let you know something. In some way you transcended using the oracle to direct communication with those in spirit who might help you with this. Strangely and synchronistically this happened to me too a week or two ago...asking a question, tossing the coins and all i could see literally and unexpectedly was the face of my father (deceased)..sometimes i think spirits will step into the divining space you made in your mind when you began the consultation. The fact that this was hex one makes it seem more likley to me this was direct communication.

Thats my take on it anyway., well if it makes sense to you, if not disregard. Interesting question BTW but not easy to answer

I’m new to the i-ching only been questioning for a month or so and only really when I have been bewildered with some of life’s strange situations. These saying do have a bearing on recent events as they had been used in the past to demonstrate how I should view a situation which had unnecessarily upset me or others. One from my friend had been “fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me”, this is in fact the second time the aforementioned (friend of a friend) has deliberately upset me in the space of a week. The other had been used by my mother and is personal; she did not suffer fools gladly. I think I had been looking at hex 1 and my own impressions separately and should have been looking at them in a more connected way. So thanks again for your reply, it did help.

I'm new to this but from all i can ascertain, I might be in a bit of trouble. I've been turning my attention to keeping to myself a bit to regain composure after a couple of trying weeks. So, to see how I was doing I asked the oracle,

"How self-composed and stable am I at this period of time?" I got 1>28 which looks to me like, "you're pretty solid right now but thinks are about to get a little shaky."

Can anyone shed some more light on this for me?
