Hello all. Maybe its just me, but I knew this time would come someday. I would love some feedback on this. Thank you. mmmmmmm.

Query: "What Trigram best describes me?"

I do wonder if I need to recast this as it may have been better to ask what Hexagram rather than Trigram.

I see your answer as more or less reflecting your question back. You are reflecting upon your nature, 20, but can it be neatly pigeonholed or categorised, 25 ? Your nature is simply your nature, why would you seek to limit/categorise it as a trigram ? If you 'label' your nature there would be a kind of falsity there, thats why I think you got 25, don't limit yourself to a description of yourself.

Answer these:

In general, do you focus more on facts or values?

In general, do you focus on what was/is/will be OR on what could have been/is not/could be?

In general, are you an instigator of things (aka proactive) or more a reactor to things (aka reactive)?

As I was casting that night alot of the answers did come back in a reflectory kind of way. I only felt it natural to see the Yis take on just where I was at with myself at that moment in time, hoping the Yi would allow something so simple as a basic snapshot of the complexity that can make up me. Wether it was a petty or 'boxy' thing to query definatly rested in the back of my mind, still I had to give a look see. The Yi has aided with so many things in this life I looked to its aid one more time. At that moment i feel I needed it.

My Asnwers:
I have to say Values. I live my life so close to heaven the facts often times get blurry. The fault of this lifestyle I have yet to finger, still I fare quite well.

I energize with what is and will be. The has been/is not/ is something I allow to fall away as it consumes too much energy and time. Wounds are easy things to allow to fester.

Last one is a toughie. I am proactive and at the same time leaning to be less reactive to every little thing. The latter I find alot harder to do. Practice makes pertfect and all that.

Thank You

Hex 25 says not to be selfish or harm others and to think for yourself, does this apply to you?

types :

010
Or
011

Depends on the last bit preference.

The first bits, 01, indicates a generic focus on security seeking. This is the di-gram of yang over yin.

010 is the trigram of water and covers protection, supply of the necessities of life etc. Emotional focus is on issues of rejection/rejecting. There is a boundary focus where the boundary works to protect what is inside of it. Associated hexagrams are:

07,04,29,59,40,64,47,06

011 is the trigram of wind and covers supervisor, auditor, umpire, CEO etc. The basic emotion is anticipation (of wrong doing - refined, made proactive, to cover anticipation of right doing and so cultivating). Associated hexagrams are:

46,18,48,57,32,50,28,44

MBTI/Keirsey temperament is a focus on the "SJ" type. (Google for details).

With the IC we can map out much finer details on these categories, the MBTI for the SJ temperament gives XSJX and so four categories - the IC gives us 16 at this level and a lot more as we go - and we can also apply XORing to extract finer details about the persona types (64 aspects to be precise at this level of analysis)

BTW these are your particular natures - then add in your singular nature that adds local differences.

The reason we can do all of this (and more) is due to the MBTI and I Ching being metaphors and have their basic categories derived from self-referencing of dichotomies. Basic properties covered in the IDM material:

I would have to say that yes I am subject to bouts of selfishness as any man could be, and it is this fact that drives me to be extra careful of peoples feelings as well as toning down my own personality. In situations such as that I leave the door open to suggetions and whether I know it or not run the risk of giving up the power to think for myself. Or just maybe thinking for myself in a situation where I become aware that "I'm doing it again"; being selfish, is some odd practice of becomming receptive of feelings and things around me and not give so much of a overbearing peronality or one sided coversation.
The thought that hex 25 could actually be the trigram that describes the current me suddenly flashes across my mind. That is if its possible to say that a reading could actually be used to call out who you are rather than how to behave in accordance with the time. When I read LiSe Heyboer's commentairies I can see how 25 definatly describes a general part of my attitude and beliefs.
After reading over the very intresting "SJ" type information lightofreason I can say that alot of it resonates with who I am. "Planning for the future, saving, and avoiding frivolous expenditures and conspicuous consumption are second nature to LEGALISTs, but not to other types." Really? I thought everybody felt those things where important, hehehehe. Alot of the info was so true, and yes, I do have a mental checklist with tickle a random person amongst the items. Heeee. Though I have to say I was definatly blessed with a healthy amount of impulsivness, and as I see for a Legalist may actually help him be a lil less ritualistic, but not without its faults im sure.
Thank you all for your input on this thing. You have helped with a great personal check up I was going through. I will continue working towards being a wonderful spirit and humble human.
