"How can I move through this transition with grace, ease & prosperity? Am I being initiated? and Yi's answer, 9.4.5 to 14."

I know it sounds silly, but overall I am getting hammered in every aspect of my life. It started in 2018, escalated in 2020 and it's been full of ups and downs since then. I separated from my husband of 17yrs, lost my job during the COVID pandemic and my home. It has been extremely difficult and yet, I have learned so many life lessons and have grown as a person. However, I don't know how to keep going. I haven't been able to find a new job, rental rates are high and I can't afford a place as a single mom (I also have two children with exceptional needs). It's hard! I have applied for every assistance program that I can think of, at one point I tried relocating to another state with family, but it didn't work out. All of the housing assistance programs are out of funds and/lottery based (I wasn't selected). I have even applied in other states and still no luck. Also, I exhausted my savings in 2022.

It seems like I am being tested, but I don't know how much more I can take. I have never been in this position. I've worked my entire life and always had my own place.

I consider myself very spiritual and I practice self-care using tarot/oracle cards. I'm simply at a loss I have never tried I-Ching, but have heard good things. If anyone can help me interpret the results in a simplified manner I would appreciate it.

I read the interpretation via the oracle and it seems pretty accurate. It said "small taming" and "great possession". The small taming aspect makes sense. It seems as though I am cultivating soil and planting seeds. During this transition I have learned so much about myself and try to stay productive. I am in therapy, practice self-care, exercise, improving my health and I pour everything I have into my children. So, this aspect makes sense to me.

However, the part about "great possession" is where I am confused. I literally lost everything. The little I have is in a storage unit that I maintain religiously. Stored are my kids pictures and other sentimental items that can't be replaced. We are staying with family and we were supposed to be gone in 2022. At least that was the plan. It hasn't worked out that way and honestly, it's not the best environment for my family. I am working hard to take steps towards moving within six months. By then, I hope the rental prices have went down significantly. All in all, I am really stumped at great possession. In a way, I think I have an abundance of love and other non-material things. The oracle mentioned something about giving and this is something I do. It's how I pay my way forward. I give whatever I can, no matter how small. Be it my time, food, a kind word and etc. Unfortunately, what I need right now is financial prosperity to get out of this rut.

"great possession" here is "inserted in the context" of you trying to combine this "great possession" into a long-term vision, step by step, in a systematic way without putting pressure on this "small taming" , imagine an organic growth made of consideration and adaptation of the small influences that you can bring to your long-term objective.

...key words here are...." don't force...don't pressure something that can't be forced into an artificial rhythm...imagine what it would be like to grow a field of carrots and want them ready to eat at the end of 15 days? - you know it's impossible!

Those are encouraging moving lines - which do not match your experience at all, and it's been like this for years now. Urgh.

It could be advice just to keep on keeping your head up and rattling more trees, or rattling the same trees over again, and something will shake loose after all. That's all I can think of, anyway. What a mess.

These hexagram and the lines suggest to me that for the moment you are in a situation where you don’t appear to have a great deal of “power” but as you act in a way that demonstrates your good heart you find those you must depend upon are pleased to have you with them and ultimately these connections will prove to be a 14. Possession in Great Measure.

Astrologically two of the slower moving planets, Saturn and Pluto, are changing signs this year suggesting a major shift in consciousness. Now through April is more of an Out With The Old phase but when we get into May there is a definite feeling of new opportunities. This is not to say nothing improves until May but it can be encouraging to know that our whole reality is going through a major transition and not to beat yourself up thinking if you ran a little bit faster all would be in good order immediately. Keep on keeping on, create a reputation for being a reliable, loyal, trustworthy friend and house mate and ultimately comes the light at the end of the tunnel.

What is interesting in your answer is that the lower trigram Heaven is stable, it occurs in both H9 and H14. The lower trigram represents the inner self, inner attitude, emotional life, etc.
It is Heaven, the leader, the authority in something, inner strength, the one who sets things in motion.
Heaven is the ultimate yang energy: outward-looking, light, strong.
The movement is in the upper trigram, the trigram of the outside world, the attitude there, the action in that outside world.

In H9 the yang energy dissipates/blows away (trigram Wind), so it is almost not visible hence H9 talks about the small. Small things, little impact
In H14, the yang force is bright and clearly visible (trigram Fire) in the outside world.

H14, unfortunately for you, is not about material possessions .

Trigram Wind in H9 generates Fire through the moving lines at the 4th and 5th positions.
This is about not being able to make ideas a reality because of a passive attitude. Wind here puts itself too dependent on the outside world while being able to influence it. Wind does not realise here that it has Trigram Heaven as its lower trigram. To set things in motion, it is necessary to become aware of the inner power of Heaven.
Fire gives as advice to show yourself and your own truth.

H9.4.5 <> H14 thus asks you to put yourself in the world clearly and distinctly and not keep yourself small.
The nuclear hexagram of H9 is H38. The hexagram of individuation, becoming and remaining oneself.
The shadow hexagram (the shadow aspect of the situation) is H56. This hexagram is about adapting oneself to changing circumstances. This is what you may be doing now or would like to do, adjusting to circumstances (and I don't mean the outer circumstances in the situation you are in, but adjusting your personality).
So everything in the answer seems to point towards not adapting, not keeping yourself small, but putting your true self into the world clearly and distinctly.
Do your screen name justice EmpressOnTheThrone, not to rule, but for clarity. The empress (the female form of trigram Heaven) radiates power, for all the world is clear who she is. She may be modest, but she does not make herself small. She knows her power and influence.

As I see it, that is what the answer asks of you/advises you.
