Yesterday I asked the Yi about the the future (or not) of a potential relationship - I received 46, lines 3 and 5 -> 29. 3 and especially 5 I would interpret as positive, albeit with the warning to take things slowly and be patient, step by step, but 29 seems to me to contradict this otherwise optimistic-seeming reading. Having said that, in the past I have regarded 29 as negative in the same way as 12.
If I received 12 (Blocked) or 23 (Peeling off, at present no goal or destination can be achieved) I feel these two are fairly unequivocal, but then I used to feel the Well, 48, was a negative hexagram - until I realised there are no wholly 'positive' or 'negative' hexagrams.
I'd be interested in how other people interpret 29 - if you receive it in a reading, especially as the second hex, are you filled with exhiliration at the possibility of negotiating the rapid-flowing waters? That the situation is in flux (as all situations are!) but with skill and judgement and intuition you can negotiate your way through the danger?

NB Update! News just in!
In terms of the specific person I was enquiring about, it doesn't now look like there is a romantic future, possibly a friendship may arise, which I would not be averse to, but such was the intensity and excitement of the first week's getting to know each other (5 hour phone calls!) that I can't not be a little disappointed.

BTW my initial question was What is the future for Sifaka and X as lovers?

(I asked another one regarding our future as friends: 39 (line 5) -> 15, the line 5 looks hopeful, not quite sure about 15 - the superior man carries things through to completion - I have in the past taken this to mean an ending, finito - but maybe it could also indicate a successful transition to friendship without any bad feeling or upset for either party)
