Any thoughts?
I exactly asked: "How effective the sunlight is in killing the virus". Then how do you interpret hex 42 as the question's answer? My thought is that people often don't realize that 42 is not 100% blessing, it is often about
'correcting our mistakes' as in 'when having transgressed, the jun zi makes corrections'
while unrelated to the OP but you were benefiting her literally 42 is about someone who probably values a lot someone, probably it was describing you in the 'relationship'. because (she wouldn't have to be alone) that was benefiting her of course depends on what IC refers with UC hex sometimes refers to a speficific line,With my experience of 42's...
I would have to say it says something like,
"that's a mistake, try something else."
or literally it could Increase' the virus.
(I got 42 unchanging once!
it was as a comment on the situation immediately after I realized that a gal I liked didn't like me, but was just using me (and leading me on) so she wouldn't have to be alone.)
It was a very happy moment to see my mistake, and learn better. No resentment or anything was involved.
"When there is excess, she corrects it." maybe this kinda explain your idea the more exposure to the the sun(without a host) the virus is "corrected" by sunlight(perhaps not sunlight but lack of a host) but for iching it doesnt make a difference and the answer is too generala virus is not alive so how can it be killed? i think 42 might be about increased exposure while outside in the sunshine, since a lot of people want to get some sun and end up in the same crowded areas. as to how good the sun is in destroying genetic material, that probably depends, i agree with rosada, that the right amount of sun can help boost the immune system, though too much of it can even destroy our own cells, i.e. skin cancer, so i guess it can be pretty good at destroying the virus (host free) as well there was also a study looong time ago proving that best way to lower TB cases in cows was through letting them out in the sun, not sure how this translates to covid. it's said that the virus survives for about 3h in air within liquid droplets, so it's generally better to go outside, as it can remain much longer on hard surfaces, out of which the most common areas where it can be found (up to 20%) is hand sanitizer dispensers... i just love the irony of it.
What's not so funny to me is that where we have followed the guidelines - worn masks, kept distance, used sanitizers and now have gotten vaccinated - COVID cases and the chances of getting COVID are going down. Whereas when people flaunt these guidelines, or simply don't know them, or don't have the resources (like masks) to follow them, we're seeing the number of cases rise.Too funny re hand sanitizers! Now I have read that the chance of getting covid from a surface is way over estimated.
Funny you mention this because it was a thought that had crossed my mind when I first read this thread.....my dad had TB when he was in his 20's. The way they cured it was to put the patients on the verandahs of the hospitals so they would contract pneumonia. He said he remembers waking up with snow on the end of his bed. Apparently they could sort TB through treating pneumonia - I've no idea what that means, I just remember him telling me about it.there was also a study looong time ago proving that best way to lower TB cases in cows was through letting them out in the sun
I apologize if I misunderstood. I have grown weary that we've become a world filled with 'experts' just because we've read some articles on the internet, often with "confirmation bias" - meaning we tend to seek out information that agrees with our already-held beliefs.I think you misunderstood my comment. I was responding to Legume's observation that hand sanitizer despensers were found to be the worst offenders for covid surviving on hard surfaces.
I don't know which country or region you live in, but no one where I live ever wanted to kill anyone for simply wanting to go outside or for having an opinion about sanitizers. That sounds entirely like internet 'fake news' to me. Where I live, I have always heard and abided by this consistent message: wear masks, keep a safe distance, follow basic hygiene.I remember during the first months of pandemic if you told some people "mayyyyyybe" the sanitizers have no effect they wanted to kill you, the way they believed that by staying home for a month the virus will magically disappear ....
I don't know where the phrase 'hygiene theater' comes from or started, but it seems more like media 'spin'. The updated CDC guidelines start by saying:If you’re interested you can Google “End the hygiene theater, CDC says” .
It's not fake news. An old friend of mine once said in March 2020 that she believed anyone who left home should have been shot by the police, even if alone & wearing a mask.I don't know which country or region you live in, but no one where I live ever wanted to kill anyone for simply wanting to go outside or for having an opinion about sanitizers. That sounds entirely like internet 'fake news' to me.
As I said, this is not the world I am living in. And because you have a friend who said this, what does that prove? That some people sometimes say dumb things - especially when they are scared and the actual facts have been obscured or distorted (by Q or by Trump for example)? But you are perhaps correct: this is not news, fake or otherwise - it's just people being mislead, misinformed, sacred or dumb, or some combination of these.friend of mine once said in March 2020 that she believed anyone who left home should have been shot by the police
As I said, media spin, a 'coined' term. With COVID, we have faced a new virus and a world-wide pandemic that we have not had to deal with for at least 100 years (Spanish Flu pandemic). That we might go overboard, or even get things wrong is to be expected. But when a writer labels all this 'Hygiene Theater' - like Trump calling anything he doesn't like 'fake news' - it leaves it wide open for becoming fodder for rumors and accusations: so we get people claiming that everything the CDC says is wrong (or is part of a conspiracy), or they think, incorrectly, that not getting vaccinated will lead to herd immunity, or they think wearing masks is a bad thing, but sitting out in the sun is helpful. The term was coined on July 27, 2020 by Derek Thompson, a staff writer for The Atlantic, when referring to hygiene measures being taken during the COVID-19 pandemic that have done little to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and have provided a false sense of security.
wouldn't it make your life easier to assume that nobody here is actually taking maybe's to be facts, just sharing the maybe's as a free thought exercise instead of assuming everyone is less skilled than you in telling fact from fiction? most of us aren't even I Ching experts, so i doubt anyone here claims expertise on the new-virus and the new-pandemic (i dare to say that even the current experts on the topic won't be actual experts until quite some time from now)... you mention an awful lot of things that annoy you, none of which have actually ever been mentioned here, by anyone else but yourself. i understand people need an outlet for their frustration nowadays and "That we might go overboard, or even get things wrong is to be expected", but find difficult to understand your approach - i mean mentioning bill gates, trump, vaccines or aliens, etc. in every other post that's to do with covid, especially, since, as you say, these claims annoy you (cause they supposedly dilute the higher quality information), but again, nobody mentions these things here but you, so i'm kinda baffled.I do however get peeved, when people take 'maybes' to be facts
I don't really give a rosy rat's patootie what people do or don't do here. And you're sentence above doesn't make any sense, '... assuming that nobody here is actuall taking mabye's to be facts ...? What the heck does that mean?wouldn't it make your life easier to assume that nobody here is actually taking maybe's to be facts, .... but find difficult to understand your approach - i mean mentioning bill gates, trump, vaccines or aliens, etc. in every other post that's to do with covid,
I quoted the part I did because it was getting to my point about 'Hygiene Theater being a made-up phrase by someone in the media. And that this might still persists because of fear or disinformatin, I talked about that as well.I note you only copied the first part of my quote.
