I have a friend who's been having chemo for about 9 months with little change but he refuses to stop treatment. Personally I feel he hasn't got much time left.

How long has he got left to live

1.2.5>30

Line 5 talks of Heaven and hex 30 to me is heading towards the light.

Hello Goddessliss~

I'm sorry to hear about you friend. I do hope that things turn around for him soon.

As for the reading, if I just look at it without considering the question it seems fairly uplifting to me. Just looking at the titles (I primarily use the Wilhelm Baynes book), Creative and The Clinging, I get a sense of light and the power of creation - the source/power of life and the light that illuminates the dark. This sounds like the attitude of someone who would continue to bravely face chemo, inspite of little change, because of a strong power within.

Looking at the lines specifically:
Ln. 2 - "Here the effects of life-giving power begin to manifest themselves..." (Baynes). This line sounds to me like there is a change for the better in your friend. Either he finds the "great man" within himself, or maybe he finds another doctor, or...I like to think that your friend finds within himself all the great qualities of someone who will persevere, with success, to better health.

Ln. 5 - Your friend may experience a period of feeling better, maybe even enlightened like, as if looking directly into the face of his illness and mortality he finds more value in living (which is something he will share with all whom he is connected to) - but during those times don't get too carried away with feeling good and over-do it.

Best wishes to you both

That's a tricky one as it's dependent on what you see and know about his situation and judging from your remarks it seems like he's going downhill fast.

But then the reading appears to be contradictory also depending on the angle you take...

H.1 is Creative Power... and one might take the idea that these lines are very constructive for recovery...But as you imply, it could be taken in a more metaphysical rather than a physical sense. It could mean approaching death and an expansion of awareness and line 5's release. Or, that unbeknownst to all that power is accumulating...

In the end, it appears to come down to that person's "blueprint" i.e. some people survive and some don't and there's ultimately no fathoming why that is. An argument could be made that conventional medicine helps or hinders certainly, but in the end it's dependent on so many factors beyond our knowledge at the present time.

Very intense. I wish your friend well, whatever the outcome.

Thanks Mere de la mer and Topal you've both made me rethink the way I've interpreted the reading as I tend to take the metaphysical outlook.
I see now the Creative can mean he is sticking to the proper principles by continuing with his chemo and the light of healing is beginning to emerge as he continues to cling on to life.

We used to be close friends but I don't know very much of what's going on as he's a man of few words and we are only communicating online now as I moved away from the area he lives in.
All I know is he discovered he had bowel cancer and managed to beat that but the docs discovered he has spots on his liver and his lungs. At first he was still drinking alcohol but I don't know if he still is.

I think he has at least 3-4 years to live. Just by treating the lines as one year each, starting with line 1 (now).
Within 1 year he will start to prepare for take-off,
an active year follows (good health or trying to take active measures?),
then a year on the edge,
and in line 5 he flies in heaven as you say.

Thanks ashteroid that sounds good - I don't feel he will beat it completely and I don't think he looks after his health any better despite the cancer.
