Not scientifically, yes.On pg 7 in the pdf You attached at #1 I guess You mean Short-term memory?
Why would line 2 be variables, why would line 3 be principles?Step 2, set a parameter that quantifies the eager of change of the assumptions you summarized above.
Line 1: Perception
Line 2: Variables
Line 3: Principles
Line 4: Consciousness
Line 5: Facts
Line 6: Cognition
I am sure there are multiple ways of reading and interpreting I-Ching, I just find this perspective very interesting. To be honest, “the eager to change” changes very frequently if your parameters are volatile , which means nearly every hexagrams can represent your state of mind at different period of life. The usefulness of I-Ching as a tool if you used it this way requires further study and experiment to test it.I think consulting is like a conversation, we don't need to box in answers to this extent do we? That is Yi is not a 'tool' that we operate it is an Oracle, it speaks. So your approach doesn't appeal to me at all but may do to some people.
Many people have said consulting Yi is like looking at a map. It helps you know where you are in order to make better choices. If that is what you mean by a 'positioning tool' then yes consulting Yi is a bit like looking at a map. But a tool is something we operate and we don't operate Yi. I realise we don't have enough words really to say what Yi is so 'tool' is sort of near enough in many senses but we do not of course operate it nor tell it what to do.
Why would line 2 be variables, why would line 3 be principles?
But, did You mean Shot-term-memory ? (as it's written ? see attached screencut))Not scientifically, yes.
Typo… by the wayBut, did You mean Shot-term-memory ? (as it's written ? see attached screencut))
Right. thank You, just wanted to be clear about it (Short-term-memory contra Long-term-memory)Typo… by the way
AIO stands for Active In-Out
PIO stands for Passive In-Out
AH stands for Active Hidden
PH stands for Passive Hidden.
Step 1, making assumptions of what defines you, and categorize them in this way.
Line 1: Your role, social status, social image
Line 2: Your resources, sources of income, level of spending
Line 3: Your skill, expertise, certain belief
Line 4: Your relation, leadership, friendship
Line 5: Your work, family, geographical environment
Line 6: Your thought, idea, dream
Step 2, set a parameter that quantifies the eager of change of the assumptions you summarized above.
Line 1: Perception
Line 2: Variables
Line 3: Principles
Line 4: Consciousness
Line 5: Facts
Line 6: Cognition
Step 3, See if you eager to change exceed the parameter you have set.
Yes -> Yang —
No -> Yin --
Step 4, Draw the hexagram, see if the wisdom of the hexagram inspire you.
Step 5, Read what I-Ching warns you if Line 1-6 changed from the hexagram you draw, so that you know which direction of change is what you desired.
Or
When certain things happens to you and you are seeking advice from I-Ching, draw the diagram again from step 1-4, and see what lines has been changed, and what further explanation I-Ching tells you when your diagram changed.
More detailed methodology I summarized that explains the origin of this model is in the PDF file below.
Hope everyone can understand themselves better through reading I-Ching.
Feel free to communicate your thoughts and experiences.
The attachment explains where I arrive this way of interpreting I-CHING as a tool, and it is based on my analogy of how mind is being formed. I find it useful in organizing common sense and deconstructing psychological concepts. It’s basically a mind map.I've tried to understand Your posting but without luck. Is it right understood that your attachment (% see attached) is illustrations to a text? In case so, is that text to be found in your postings here above (#1,2)? (In case it's not illustrative illustrations to a text I'm off)
I can only wish You luck with your project and add that because I can't find the clue to an understanding does not mean that it isn't there.

assumptions(step1) are linked to the slide of EXM.
parameters (step2) are linked to the slide of CLA.
I tried this method several times to form hexagrams for my friends based on how I think they are (step1-3) right now. I told them what does I-Ching says about the hexagram I got, and they find I-CHING describe their situation pretty much accurately and helpful, I can’t prove it to be “right” in a scientific way, but I guess that’s what this thread is for: letting more people try and interpret this method by themselves.
Hopefully this can help you understand what I am saying, maybe in the future I can either program it or write a paper for it.
I am majoring finance, so if nobody want to carry it forward, probably gonna take me a decade to figure it all out.
