Hello, I'll try to be brief:

I've spent 2 years trying to build a machine and finally hit a dead end where I am pretty much unable to continue building with my tool set. I've been advised to buy one to start working. Also this new machine could help to finish the first one. Thing is, after much weighing I tried to buy one from abroad but seller was irresponsible and unexpectedly returned payment and made me lose the exchange conversion tax for good. Therefore I decided to back and think on my next move. I wouldn't want any more surprises.

Still confused, I decided to consult the I Ching, as I've done in the past several times. Now, as far as I can tell, this oracle has proven to be right in its own way all the times I had consulted it. I've been able to witness this after the events for which I had asked about unfolded, and from both sides, because I haven't followed its advice all the times. In fact many times it will advice contrary to my wishes and as such many times I haven't followed and later on acknowledged my error. Thus I have used it less often because I want things my way and then if they're going to be wrong then I'd rather not know. But this is just my personal experience. I can't say I'm 100% believer because I feel its readings are ambiguous and vague and prone to own interpretation and then you just understand from your point of view and tie ideas according to your situation, but what if you tied them the other way around? I could never get rid of this thought and it makes the experience rather uneasy.

Anyways, I have consulted the I Ching and it's driving me to a dead end. First, it won't let me buy the kind of specialized machine I need to start working. It wants me to get a simpler version of the machine which you operate manually, and either upgrade it to a motorized version by myself or continue building my first machine. Whats-more, it won't let me buy the un-motorized version of the machine that can be easily upgraded to motorized later on. It wants me to buy a version for which there are not standard motor kits from the manufacturer! Okay I psyched myself up and, yes, I could certainly take that road and all although that's not what I really want, because it's been too long years of frustration and I just want to get going ASAP, okay I could take that road, at least is not as expensive a solution as the one I want. So I thought all right go ahead, and asked when I should order this machine. And that's where it's making things all the more confusing. It won't let me order now, it won't let me order this week, next week, or next month. What the heck? I asked what the I Ching wants me to do and it's telling me to follow its advice... to be loyal to it  I asked related questions to try to get some light and nothing

Here are all the questions with my interpretations. If you can bring some light here I'd appreciate. Else, I might just order the complete machine or the simple one, but I'll do it very soon. And please don't tell me it's suggesting it's not my time yet to buy this machine. It's been two years trying to build that one and the reason I want to buy one is because I'm thoroughly frustrated already and I NEED to start working now. It doesn't make sense to ask me to be idle for who knows how long while I'm paying for the garage rent, etc. And it doesn't make sense to try to work any further on my own machine with my current tool set. So...

I've used Master Yin rules for these. I find them a lot less contradicting and a lot less ambiguous:

  • What if I order the machine on eBay: Much effort involved
    18
  • What if I order the machine on Dealer1: No way
    3.3.6,37
  • What if I order the machine on Dealer2: No
    1.1.4,57
  • What if I order the machine on Dealer3: Buy from Dealer3
    40.2.6,35
  • What if I buy Kind1 of machine: Ok
    46.1.5.6,9
  • What if I buy Kind2 of machine: No
    7.1,19
  • What if I buy Kind1 from Dealer3: Ok
    28.1.3.4.5.6,41
  • What if I buy Model1 with unmounted motorization: I'd say no?
    23.6,2
  • What if I buy Model1 from Dealer3: No
    64.2.3,56
  • What if I buy Model2 from Dealer3: No
    13.2.5,14
  • What if I buy Model3 from Dealer3: Ok
    28.1.3.4.5.6,41
  • What if I buy Model1.a(*) from Dealer3: No
    6.1.2.4,42
  • What if I try to motorize Model3 on my own: Could take long but should work
    12.2.5,64
  • What if I try to motorize Model3 purchasing some kit(**) on the Internet: Apparently I shouldn't be taking this "easy" road
    58.1.2.3.5.6,56
  • What if I try to build the parts of my own machine manually with Model3: It won't come easy and it might not even come to completion but it will pay
    42.1.3,53
  • What if I buy Accesory1 for Model3: I should wait for the time I eventually need it, if I need it
    25.2.6,58
  • What if I buy a different Model of Kind1 machine: No
    25.1.3.5,56
  • Why doesn't the I Ching want me to buy a motorized machine?: No
    6
  • What if order the machine now?: I should wait?
    22.4.5,13
  • What if order the machine this week?: I'd say no?
    59.2,20
  • What if order the machine next week?: No
    47.1.2.5.6,21
  • What if order the machine next month?: No
    44.2.4.5.6,15
  • When should I order the machine?: Don't order yet?!?!
    23
  • What do you want me to do?: Unintelligible
    17.1.3.4.5,15
  • Should I order the machine?: Do it?!?!
    19
  • Why shouldn't I order Model1 with everything?: To save money I guess
    15.1.3.4.5,17
  • I want to order the machine now: "Do as I told you" (Don't)
    8.1,3
  • Should I follow I Ching advice?: Unintelligible
    37
  • Should I follow I Ching advice in regards to this very matter of the machine?: Unintelligible
    24.1.5.6,20

Notes: All models are of Kind 1. Model1 is my rational preferred option.
(*)Model1.a is a slightly different version of Model1.
(**)I haven't found yet any ready upgrading kit on the Internet for Model3.

If this doesn't add frustration, I don't know what will...:weep: and by the way, it also makes me feel quite stupid and useless...

P.S: Sorry for the crypticness

Hello, I'll try to be brief:

You failed. Try harder.

I've used Master Yin rules for these. I find them a lot less contradicting and a lot less ambiguous:

Also dump any silly rules for readings that make it less of an Oracle than it is. If you want 'less ambiguous' just toss a coin for a yes /no answer...

I've not got time to read your entire novel but it appears to be about a machine. I'm just hoping it's a time machine because it is one of my dearest wishes to time travel

...or is your post a Spoof....it kinda looks like one but then there's a few threads right now that look like Spoofs to me so maybe I'm just a Spoof Head

First, if I'm obviously encrypting some information it's because it's not in my interest to reveal it for whatever my personal reasons, and I don't consider it critical to the matter.

Secondly, yes, I failed at making it a brief post, or maybe not, according to what I consider relevant. On the other hand, you made a good job of an unwelcoming post.

I don't see how discarding a set of rules that make more sense to me will help me.

And about the spoofing, you're obviously one smart-ass making unfounded judgments without even bothering to read or hear what one has to say or getting to know the person. Brilliant, just brilliant.

I have come here for advice because I'm desperate, if I were not and had all clear in my mind, what would be the point of resorting to an oracle and further to some presumably oracle experts? Should be obvious to you that I'm not a native English speaker. I have better things to do, than spending minutes or hours writing and translating a post, and disguising sensible (irrelevant for you, relevant for me)data to get useless replies such as this. If I had known before, I wouldn't have bother to do so, that's for sure.

Congratulations on your 12k+ posts, if the forum is crowded with "experts" like you, that have gone through with your kind of attitude for so long without ban, I better run away as fast as I can.

No we don't get banned for attempting humour here.

It was a joke...you said you tried to be brief but wrote the longest string of questions I ever saw...to the point of absurdity IMO

But you're right I didn't bother to read your post, I couldn't. To me your post looked a bit like a spoof but by your reaction it seems it isn't. It can be hard to tell.

But don't despair there are plenty of others here who can help you. I need not trouble you again.

Oh and no it isn't at all obvious you are not an English speaker to me but that's not really relevant either way. Whatever language you speak you just posted maybe 30 questions in a row....which is why I thought you were kidding. I really did think you were kidding.

I just counted you asked 30 questions....that is a record ! And don't call me 'smartass' either. I was being light with you, if you can't understand that don't insult me.

If you said what the machine was at least it would seem more ....more feasible

oh and BTW you wrote something in the 'aha' section but left out the reading...so we can't tell what your 'aha' moment was about

[*]What if I buy Model1 with unmounted motorization: I'd say no?

[*]What if I buy Model3 from Dealer3: Ok
28.1.3.4.5.6,41

Sorry you're having such troubles, kevrem. I can see you're doing your best here . . . and I think your English is truly excellent for a non-native speaker.

For the first question above, I would have interpreted this as a yes, not a no.

For two questions you received 28.1.3.4.5.6 > 41, and I would say those are fraught with difficulties, not an OK.

That's all I can do right now; my husband is calling me.

I can see you laid out your questions in a logical way, but we don't usually see so many questions in a row here on Online Clarity. You must be an engineer. You are very logical. :)

I have consulted the I Ching and it's driving me to a dead end.

What is driving you to a dead end is your belief that you must build a prototype of your invention entirely by yourself to keep it secret. Your effort at secrecy is defeating you. Parts made to your specifications can be fabricated by commercial machine shops. They have no need to know how the parts will be used, and if you are concerned that they will figure out what you are doing, have different machine shops make different parts. Time is of the essence. It frequently happens that many have similar ideas at the same time, and only the first to a patent office with a working prototype profits.

I've been in situations like this with the I Ching, and I understand the frustration. Here are some things I think I've learned ("learned" - haha. As if now I do it properly  )

Anyway. How long ago did you cast all these readings, and how quickly did you cast one after the other?

The point is that when Yi seems to be saying no to every conceivable possibility, or to things that make good sense, chances are you've gone wrong somewhere, and/or you're casting readings faster than you can understand them. Going wrong in interpretation doesn't mean you' re bad at the I Ching! It's just sometimes difficult to tease the intended meaning out of the imagery. Sometimes Yi is not really saying what it seems to be saying.

Example: I once asked Yi how someone with a problematic astrology chart was nontheless quite successful in life. Yi answered with 13.2 (there may have been another line, can't remember):

‘People in harmony at the ancestral temple.
Shame.’
(Hilary's translation)

That ends in the word "shame" - it sounds bad, right? I couldn't see how it even addressed my question. But finally it dawned on me that "ancestral temple" was a reference to church groups the person belongs to, which help her cultivate her personality and her ways of interacting with people. The groups bring out her strengths, so she's not overwhelmed by her difficult traits. There's nothing shameful about it. "Negative" 13.2 was simply the best way Yi had of saying "church groups." The negative omen could be disregarded.

That's just an example. I'm not suggesting Yi's always saying the opposite of what it appears to be saying, nor am I saying it's done that in your readings.

I'm just suggesting that if an interpretation went off track, the following readings won't make sense either. Some of the readings may have been Yi trying to tell you you were on the wrong track, rather than answering your actual question.

Here is what has sometimes helped me troubleshoot. Go back to the last time you felt you were on solid ground with your readings or your project. From that point, in a Word document or something, write down each question, its casting, and then type out at least one (preferably two or three) different translations. Don't just read over them in books - type them out in your document. You'll feel as if you're Doing Something, and typing helps it stick in your brain so your subconscious can work on it. Try to relax - you'll notice more and think better if it doesn't feel like a death march.

(Note: When I suggest typing out the translations, I mean the actual Yijing text, such as I quoted above in my example. It may not be necessary to type out every word of commentary - that can get overwhelmingly long - but I'd carefully read several commentaries, and write down pithy notes.)

The reason for several translations? Different authors bring out different aspects of a text, and use different words, and surprisingly often one particular translation will resonate when others didn't. And the mere preponderance of evidence might help clarify something.

When everything is in front of you in one document, read through it like a story. This can help you see the picture of what's going on, or how the readings connect to or reference each other.

Type notes to yourself about each reading. Think out loud at the keyboard. Compare and contrast different authors. Write down your speculations about how the imagery fits your topic. Have discussions or even arguments with yourself. Notice repetitions among castings. Write down anything that occurs to you - you can easily strike through what doesn't hold up.

This will take time, and you said you can't let your project stall. But my guess is that it will take hours or days, rather than weeks or months, so it won't hold you up terribly long. And it will be worth it if you then know what to do :D.

You might find the problem early on. Great! You might still give attention to the remaining readings, because Yi may have given you useful information in all of them, just waiting for the light to dawn.

[Edited: You probably won't have to be so formal with every reading forever. You'll probably just start thinking better, and then it will come more easily. But I think it's a helpful thing to do a little bit for most readings, and when you're stuck you can do more.]

one advice is that you should not ask too many questions in one day -_-, normally chinese iching practitioners only ask once, at most twice per day for most accurate results. This doesnt mean that the rest of the readings are wrong but sometimes it wont be clear or straight to the point. Iching usually is only 60-70% correct anyway :/

I came to this thread looking for insight into 13.2,5 & most unexpectedly got it -- having been depressed for days, after reading this I laughed for half an hour.

Should I follow I Ching advice in regards to this very matter of the machine?

The product as well as the information is missing in hexagram 24 (parent line si fire is hidden under line 2).
Si fire is year void in 2015 and day void at the day of the reading. There is little confidence in the both product and information.

24.1 is money going into the wrong hands, as reported by the querent (brother, third pary took the money).
24.5 is wealth hai water transforms to the information or the product. The querent has to buy something.
24.6 is child line (capital) transform to become the officer line (government, corporation, career sponsors etc). Child suppresses officer. No one really can tell the querent what needs to be done because feedback is not accepted.

Since the parent line is void under the year 2015, 2016, 2017 etc until many years from now, one should question the original design instead of worrying about the parts, process in building.

The required parts and information can be purchased, but it does not mean that it work and the project moves forward (line 24.5). There is no wealth line in hex 20 and also the parent (machine, parts) line is void by the year. The inventor should rethink and identify innovative solutions to address the novelty, inventiveness and industrial appliability of the product. A change of paradigm may help. There is no money in that hexagram and too many brother line who will rob the wealth. Hex 20 is observing. Observing does not get things done.

Iching is about mathematics decoding of a situation. If the querent click the PC to obtain readings faster than he/she thinks, he/she will never get any real answer other than the report of the current situation. If the querent is not willing to spend 60 minutes to evaluate each reading, then asking an external party to give an answer for a total of > 25 hexagrams in a shared reading environment will not provide any answers at all.

To provide an answer to such series of questions will take >25 hrs, including write-up and reporting, the cost of such analysis will exceed $12,500 from a master who will tell you the same that you have already know or ought to have known.

Every two lines (yao) in a hexagram embedded a genetic code which combines to form a messenger genetic information. Understanding the basics is important to the analysis of each situation and reading.
