I know I've asked this question before, but I can't seem to get my ex off my mind. No matter what I do. I love him more than anything but I'm not sure if he'll ever come back. It's been over a year since we've last spoken to each other.

I asked if I would hear from him at the end of this year.

I casted a second reading, asking if we would be together in 2013 (a fortune teller predicted this for me)

I know it's easy for people to say just move on. I've tried for a year now. I can't let go of him. Without him, I am incomplete. My life is meaningless.

43 means you get finally free from a bad habit, an obsession or a person (by fighting against) who or which is not good for you. Look at line one and there you see a warning (!). This Change into 28 which means there is too much of something. It is a very critical situation where one false move can cause the Preponderance of the Great. The challenge at 28 is to AVOID the preponderance of the Great.

30.2.5
Okay this is not easy to read but I try. 30 is light, awareness and dependency. Positions 2 and 5 are good, because in the middle of the trigrams. Both are dependend on each other, but it is no sexual relationship because both are yin. If you read the lines from the bottom to the top: 2nd means be very balanced, 5th means you get an great insight after you get balanced ;-) I know because I changed this line a couple of times and I tell you: This means a great/huge insight

This one changes into 14.5 (if you write down all changes) And this means: Being independend, sovereign.

This finaly changes into 1 which means, heaven itself will act. So the good in you will win, easily expressed (sorry I`m german *lol*).

If you ask me: If this guy loves you too, where is he????

An obsession is a difficult thing to let go of. Some will say, "if your ex doesn't want to see you, there is no game to play." This is a tough arena, relationships. I have seen people separate, divorce, remarry, come back and sleep with their ex's, sleep with their new partner's exes and ad nauseam. The long and short of all that is: It isn't over till you say it is over.

Hexagram 41 is all about "declines" or "decreases." But, as with any decrease, it always points to the beginning of a later "flowering" IF, and this is a big if, you sacrifice. Sacrifices usually are those things that hold you back or are a stumbling block or old habits or old paradigms that no longer work. If you are willing to sacrifice and burn on the altar the old blocks, bad habits, faulty paradigms, and so forth, and do it now, you can expect big rewards.

The question is, what needs to go? Is it the emotional attachment you have to your ex one that needs to go? I dare say it is. This is why it is called an obsession. Your emotional attachment to the most resistant (insisting this relationship work) is hurting you. Seek the least resistant way and let "fate, God, higher power" show you what you need to do.

If you decide to have courage and pursue your ex, then be prepare for a long uphill battle that might exhaust you, but if you are willing to go that route, you will find MANY spiritual lessons on the way. There is no guarantee that you will get your ex back, but you will indeed grow spiritually. But, do we have to go through pain to grow? You decide, but my experiences have taught me no. the ultimate choice is your choice.

@jbutler: I`m so glad that I`m not the only one which is making happy little accidents *lol*. First: Thanks for your input Second: You talked about the wrong hexagram. You talked about 41 but the question was about 43. But don`t worry because I think 41 and what you said fits also in and so we see the intelligence into random accidents/mistakes *happy*. So everything is fine because 41 also talks about from calm down emotions und using them economical and that is exactly needed here in this case.

I feel that I have something to add. In my experiance 30.5 is an insight, a deep insight and it hurts. So it is not a happy shiny insight, at least mostly (not always). The situation at 30.5 is: You have got more than one truth and you don`t know which is the right one.

In your case for example:Truth one: You love him. Truth second: You suffer because of loving him and so you should end up this soul massacre.

At 30.5 you will see which of both is the real truth, the true truth So prepare for some aches. BUT this is a very healing ache and 14.5 will come which means you are, a happy, self confident und independent person. So the good times come back For the case that we still have doubts the I Ching add hexagram 1 to the end.

You need to know: The I Ching never tells you what you wishes to hear. It is like a Psychologist. The most amazing, all knowing Psychologist into the world. It knows you better than yourself and it is a spirtitual issue/thing whatever. Means: The I Ching won`t help you to get into an unhealthy relationship or obsession. It helps you OUT!!!! That is the point my dear

Do you recognize something? The I Ching didn`t answer the question you asked, it answered better, do you SEE? Meditate about 43. that is the root of your problem. There is only one relationship connection between 3. and 6. and this is not a happy shiny relationship (absolutly NOT) but something that really should END (after it is done, whatever has to be done).

I also have the interpretation of R.L Wing, but of course in german. It is great, it helped me a lot to understand the Hexagramms and lines a lot better!!! I like especially that the unchanged Hexagramms are explained, finaly *Yehaaaa*. And I can say: Yep I can confirm to R.L Wing.

I hope you do a followup on this in a couple of months to let us know how things are working out.

About: 43.1 Yeah it can take a while (for to become strong enough for the battle) and I can tell you it IS a battle. I my experiances this hexagram is very exhausting to change, but in the end: 40 I finaly reached 40 after all and this really feels good. So it was worth the battle

thank you guys so much for replying.

I saw a psychic the other day, and she suggested that I message my ex first. She told me that if I love him so much, I need to go pursue him.

And so I did. For hours, I kept trying to come up with ways to start a convo with him.

I sent a message to him on Facebook. I've been so worried ever since.

I'm not sure if he's received it yet, if he's waiting to respond, because so far, I got no message back from him.

Before sending the message, I casted a reading asking if I should message him.
I got 55.4.5.6. changing into 37.

After sending the message, I asked if he was going to respond to it.
I got hexagram 25.1 changing into 12.

Will I ever hear back from him? If he doesn't respond, I'm going to be so terribly hurt

P.S. It's my birthday tomorrow. If I could have one gift or wish...it would be him. =/

Hexagram 12 means you two cannot get back together. Your personality and style are too different. You have to learn to be without him. Even if you force out a relationship, it will end up in divorce.

Hexagram 25 has three conflict pair of lines. For relationship analysis, it is not a good sign for success. Although hexagram 12 has 3 pairs of merging lines, but if you cannot get to him because there is another female rival. This is problem 1. The lack of common ground is issue 2.

I give you my reading too and then we have to see what will happen anyway.

55.4.5.6:
No sexual relationship connection at all here, because Relationship connections or corresponding lines have no meaning for hexagramm 55 there are the pairs of the same (yang/yang) important and at the top the 6 line is a very rude and hard/tough person who need to demonstrate his power and as long yi already said: You will never control him.

In my experiances line 55.6 has always represented a MAN, never a woman although the line is yin (!!). But the upper trigramm is male, so maybe this explains something. He will do with you what HE likes and believe me: You wouldn`t like it.

This changes into: 36.5.6 Oh my god !!!, read it by yourself because there is not much to translate I guess. Because I`m pretty sure that YOU are NOT the prince of darkness, he must be.

This changes into: 63.6 If you look back you get in danger, so this happened already I would say.

This finally changes into 37: It`s a good sign for a relationship, but it is unchanged and can also just mean that you are very balanced, maybe after things became clear finally.

25.1 > 12

As long yi said (although I didn`t understand this thing with the other women because there is no yin at the 6th position???) but in generally meaning I`m seeing things same way. Never had luck in relationship questions if I got 25 and 12 is.............the absolutly end of the story because it means: Absolutly no communication or totally disturbed communication, no contact and the both trigramms even moved away from each other. So: One of the worst hexagramms one can get if he/she ask a question concerning relationship.

But I think the psychologist gave you a good advice. Better you tried it and see it really, really clear after you recognize: There is no use.

If he answers I`m afraid you are lost, at least for the moment and so I actually hope that he will not answer although you probably can`t understand my wish yet.

Forty-two, isn't the original hexagram you cast the answer?

Which means, I originally casted 25 and the changing lines went to 12.

I heard that 25 can be good for relationships and may imply some form of communication?

Maybe 12 is when I decide to stop talking to him? Who knows?

When you say "balanced," do you mean as in us getting back together or when I decide he's no longer the right person?

You asked two times and I casted the answer of both originally Hexagramms.

1: Has been 55.4.5.6 > 37 it was the answer of the question if you should call him and the hexagramms which appears by changing all the lines at 55 doesn`t show harmony but more a dangerous situation for you, because it seems that this guy is not really a good person and that also suits to 43. you had before. The changing end at 37 and 37 unchanged means: You won`t have problems with him if you keep to your role (R.L.Wing). But that doesn`t need to mean to have a great reunion with him, it just means: There will be no battle if you care about the borders, he set

Apart from that you can read the hexagramms in different ways:
- inner processes
- outer Circumstances
- acting of participant persons (your ex in this case)
or all together. The last is how I read the hexagramms. I look at them and try to feel and understand which line means me, the other person, the circumstances, inner processes, outer circumstances and then I put it all together to a meaning. I try to see the whole thing, the direction of developement and the "quality" of the situation (a lot of bad lines means of course that the situation is not well and a lot of good lines means the opposite). But that is just my own way of reading and there are a lot of other ways to read the hexagramms and get a meaning. That`s why I`m also very intrested into long yi`s technique because that seems to be very different from all I know.

For inner processes 37 means to be very centered, balanced and it describes a harmonic condition. I guess it must be meant as a inner process because the outer circumstances (everything goes fine and you have a great relationship with him, the other meaning) is unlikely if I look at the rest of the hexagramms and lines (if you see the WHOLE thing) because I guess that he is not Mr. Right for you.

Second hexagramm has been 25.1 the originally hexagramm to your second question. Yes maybe the first line could mean a good developement, but definitely not if the hexagramm is changing into 12 (!!!). That is what I mean if I say: Look at the whole thing. If 25 line 1 means that innocent acting causes fortune then it could also mean: It IS fortune when you give him up (hexagramm 12), because he is not good for you *lol*. Sorry.

Yes I also read that 25 can mean some fresh air in relationships, but in my case 25 always was not the wished developement and it even hurt. Would be interesting to know what experiances other have made with 25. Open up a thread if you are interested, I`m at work at the moment so I won`t open up a new thread in the moment, but I would join and read if you open up one.

There are several ways to analyze an Iching reading:
1. Using the text of the hexagram and the text fo the change line. This is what most people do, but you are restricted by the textbook.

2. Using the Plum Blossom Iching method: each hexagram has two triagram. You analyse the relationship between or among the trigrams. Each hexagram sits in one of the 8 trigram houses.
a. The five elements, the strength of the element is taken into consideration.
b. If there is only one change, the relationship between the upper and lower trigram in the change hexagram is used to predict the outcome of an event.

3. Six line method: within each hexagram, there are 6 lines. There are 5 characters assigned to it. Each line means a certain person, item or event. Each line has a 5 element associated with it.

4. Advanced six line, the relationship of the line is connected to the time of the reading (year, month, day, hr) and the gender of the querent. Out of that, we use detective work to guess the outcome and timing of events. Sometimes, we use the reading to alter the outcome of an event such as interview or business court litigation.

5. Ho Lock Iching: Use the birthday to decode the fortune of your entire life (year by year).

6. Long Yi Iching: Use the lifetime hexagram to connect to 8 letter (birthday) plus the purple star method to decode events and fortunes. This is under development.

7. Iching - Tarot Card conversion: combine both to predict outcome of situations.

Iching learners in China do not know the six line method well at all. As a result, no one can really teach or know how to teach the six line method. There is a reason because one can use six line method to predict the stock value and an investment.

Most so called Iching experts do not know English, even if they know six line method well. In reality, few dare to claim to be an expert. No one can pass a test again and again if the reading is about predicting stock value.

9.5 describes at least a good friendship and a good understanding but that has nothing to do with your situation (???) Maybe you talked about your problem with a good friend last days? This could be meant but this good friend was at least not your ex.

26. It means to build up a huge amount of moral and spiritual energy because of reservation. This containing oneself is straining, but if you look at the end of the story, the 6th line, you see a great earning of this work at yourself But you had it unchanged and not line 6. It was just for to explain you what is the goal at this hexagramm. In your case it probably means to back off from the situation/your ex. I will copy your post and look for the different ways you mentioned at the internet, but most of all I`m interested into this six line method, because that is simply amazing what details you find out with it. Can you tell me where I can get books or articles in the internet or information about it at all?

What is yong li I Ching? Has it something to do with yourself or do you just used his name as your nickname?

There is one yin line (female line) at line 4 and five yang line (5 male lines). From his perspective, you have many male friends. This is his first discomfort.

You assume a leadership role in this relationship and it is impossible for him to feel what is in your heart (what you really wants). This is the second discomfort.

If we examine the relationship between the upper and lower trigram in hexagram 26. Line 1-3 is Chien (metal), line 4-6 is Ken (earth, keeping still). The earth produces the metal.

If you compare hexagram 52 line 1 and 4 官鬼丙戌土 (dog earth) and官鬼丙辰土 (dragon earth). The man is in conflict with himself whether he is doing the right thing.
Line 1 and 4 (tiger and bird) means you two do not agree on things. There are disagreement, may not be fights.

Line 2 is the man that you once have a connection to him in the house of spouse.

This person has a hidden line (a female). The relationship between the man and the female is a deep seated one. The day of the reading rat water (house of spouse) activates the female to come out of the hidden line to become the female in line 2 of hexagram 52 which is in conflict with the man in line 5 of hexagram 52 (brother line, horse fire).

Overall picture:
Hexagram 52: 3 pairs of conflicting lines in this hexagram (1,4, 2,5, 3, 6). For marriage analysis, no deal for marriage or a relationship.

Holding still.. do nothing, expect nothing. You two cannot reach agreement on anything. Stop your courtship.

Hexagram 36 also means no marriage, in particular that if there were once an intimate relationship. Both parties are half foot in and half foot out.
Again, there is no good news. One cannot force another person to comply with the way you do things.

Hexagram 52 is the same as King of Cups.
The teaching is:
