I'm about to enter into a new relationship and so consulted the I Ching:
Q: What should I expect from this relationship?
A: 30 (The Clinging, Fire) Lines 2 and 5

I have no problems in interpreting this as the situation is exact; I do feel I am depending on the possibily of this relationship to further myself. Line 2 is presumably the beginning of the relationship-all sunshine and daisies there. This changes into Hex 14 (Posssession in Great Measure) where it seems accumulation of spiritual treasure is successful. I take that to mean stregthening our bond. Back to Hex 35 Line 5 is more towards the end of the relationship where there is a spot of trouble, I have a change of heart yet it's essential to keep a calm mind. In doing so, it changes into hexagram 13 (Fellowship with Men) where more speicifically the 5th line has changed from an enormous struggle and grief to union and joy once again (is that how I'm suppose to do it? ie look at the specific line change and not only the general Judgement?)

Then I thought I would ask from the potential partner's point of view:
Q. What should he expect from this relationship?
A: 35 (Progress) Lines 3 and 4

Interestingly, these lines are more wtihin the timeing of what would be the 'middle' of our potential relationship where there seems to be a lot of upheaval. Misunderstandings are cleared up which changes into Hex 56 (The Wanderer); more specifically the 3rd line where arrogance causes loss of loyalty (I assume my loyalty). Back to Hex 35 Line 4; hamster business interpreted to mean he's in the wrong place at the wrong time and he needs to change that. This changes into Hex 23 (Splitting Apart) where specifically line 4is where I would be directly affected by the misfortune of his actions.

HOWEVER, if I synchronise all of this, it actually has a very coherant sequence: sunshine in the beginning with a solid foundation being formed. Misunderstandings are cleared up a bit later yet this leads to arrogance, upheavel of events where his actions directly affects me where I then have a change of heart but through humbleness and clarity of mind, we are able to struggle through and unite once again. Is this two fold interpretation correct you think? is this synchronisation actually allowed and is the method of interpreting the changing of the hexagrams (ie looking at the speicific line change as well as the overall judgement) correct?

Thank you in advance!

Hex 30.2 be down to earth, balanced in your needs and always positive in your attitude and you will find happiness.

Hex 30.5 says that entering this new relationship, you must realize that you have to give up/sacrifice certain things in your life. At first this will make you feel sad and unhappy but given time and understanding your sadness will turn to joy, you will find love.

Hex 1 suggests a very creative and productive and rewarding relationship.

"Then I thought I would ask from the potential partner's point of view:
Q. What should he expect from this relationship?
A: 35 (Progress) Lines 3 and 4

Hex 35.3 in this relationship he will look to you for help and support.

Hex 35.4 suggests that if he also likes another women then he must give her up now.

Hex 52 this is about keeping still, keeping his thoughts still, thinking only about you, seeing no other women. So he will be very faithful to you.
