Law of attraction / Cosmic Ordering

I read a lot into the Law of attraction / Cosmic Ordering lately and the more I read the more confusing all those opinions you get in the internet become. So I decided to ask the I Ching:

"What is it really with the Law of attraction / Cosmic Ordering??"
(in a sense of "is it for real" ???)

the I Ching answered 50.3 > 64

still being a learner, an absolute beginner, when it comes to the I Ching I don't really understand what the reply 50.3>64 means as an answer to my question

my thoughts on 50.3 are that the law of attraction/cosmic ordering could do so much for people but is not appreciated enough by a lot of people ... so they don't even give it a try ... but IF people recognize the true value of the law of attraction ad used it then there would be big luck for them

For me, The Law of Attraction isn't something that can be "used" but rather it's a principle of the Creative Universe that can work through us IF..we make the effort to create within ourselves a suitable vessel by which such cosmic creativity can flow. So, if we have within ourselves sufficient quantities of inner calm, sincerity, humility, innocence and faith in the nourishment that our Universe can provide then the Law of Attraction can manifest in our lives in a balanced and harmonious way. But it requires receptivity to the concept we don't enforce our own will onto the Universe but align ourselves TO it. Otherwise, expressing our needs and desires with a view to obtaining something then we can certainly achieve a force that may even attract that object of desire to us but because the "vessel" does not contain the correct "ingredients" or that it hasn't been "cleaned out" then we may well attract what we desire, but as a kind of mirror image of what is within. That means "warts and all" which means it will transient or something that cannot last.

And 50.3 (for me) reiterates the idea that such a vessel / cauldron / heart - and by extension our perceptions and awareness - must express absolute faith in Creativity outside of ourselves as well as the potential that lies within us. Perfection isn't necessary but the sincerity of intention to align ourselves to that Creative abundance that exists is really key. Then you realise that the attraction happens by default. Then, acting at the right moment is as natural as the sun and the rain. No force is necessary.

But that alchemical process is seldom untaken until we suffer quite a bit and we let go...

Thank you for your very interesting reply, Topal. I read it several times and it really touched me deep inside. I often wondered if I have the inner calm, sincerity, humility, innocence and faith that's needed to let the law of attraction work through me/ in me/in the outide world/for me...and I keep asking myself : if I don't have these virtues then how can I develop them

50.3 > 64 - Yes it is... but is not nearly as simple as it sounds (or as simple as others claim to be.)

in old time people use to call this magik but now is rebranded in law of attraction

also the law of attraction ahs become so popular because as topal and gato have pointed out, on the surface its sounds like an easy thing to do.

50.3 is interesting because there is a vessel full of goodies that cant be picked up. Lise's advice is that you need to fix and put in order broken things so you can get the goodies.

I wonder if in this instance, with your question, if it might be saying that many people feel this way, like they cant get to the goodies within themselves, or get the treasure that is supposed to be theirs and what is actually necessary is quite a bit of inner fixing.

I have seen people make those treasure maps and they always have some huge salary amount in the middle, I think this is entirely against the whole concept of attraction, which requires the alignment as topal has said above... aligning with the creative abundance cannot be by our ego's design.

I have always been quite lucky myself and all I can say is that I have been open to it but I didn't particularly do anything except for kind of being able to sniff the air and follow a good scent. And all the lucky things that have happened, I never considered them, not my own design at all.

what I did was visualizing what I asked the universe for and feeling it like I actually had it already .. but at the same time it was like this for me: I did send my wishes out to the universe but also said and felt "YOUR will be done".. the universe knows my wishes now and only the universe will decide if it fulfills them or not .. it's not my decision, not my right, not my place to make demands .. wishes yes...demands no

I think our ego's dream is precisely what we attract to us, and that it's almost what it's made of entirely. And, like most dreams, it's never the same as we expected it to be when we get there, wherever we are dreaming of going to.

Moving the handles on a ding to suit a a modern philosophical interpretation, such as the law of attraction / cosmic order, is fine, as far as it goes, but line 3 is indicative of inauthentic or unoriginal representation. Jung wrote of this in his own line of questions, one of which was how would the (Wilhelm) IC be received in the west, and I recall his answer was 50.3 (there may have been other lines, I don't recall).

Law of attraction? Think the ears have been moved or altered a tad, is this one of the ways it was originally intended?

I know this doesn't represent the principle itself, but it is representative of the difference between idealistic views of where the ears of the ding belong, according to a different set of convictions of what success looks like. The change to 64 seems to me a funny of way saying, perpetuation of the dream is a matter of reaching nothing too conclusive.

From out a mess, neglect, faults or lack of oversight, only a disaster can ensue. First of all, look around you and mend what has to be mended. Examine your intuition, your plans, your tools, the cooperation you can expect and the quality of your helpers.' Sounds to me a great wisdom. Luck of happiness and cosmic attraction has to do with clarity. Inner clarity.

Wilhelm says 50.3 refers to a man whose good qualities are overlooked and not put to use. Perhaps this interpretation could be stretched to mean that the Law of Attraction is not being utilized as effectively as it could be.
