Context: I have been thinking about moving to the city from the suburbs to have a more social life given I've been at home with family for the past few years working hybrid. I started to look for places but it has been challenging, but I wanted to confirm with the i-ching if this is the right move for me so asked the following questions. I think it is telling me to stay put where I am, but not 100% sure.

What changes can I expect if I move to the city while working hybrid? Hexagram 13.3 > 25
For “three years not starting anything”, so then I take this as either I should be content with staying where I am or that I need to put in more effort if I want to move to the city.

How likely is this apt setup the right place for me? (After viewing) Hexagram 15.2.3.4.6 > 64
I take this as it doesn’t happen. Perhaps the roommate is picky or does not like me. My gut s this person is somewhat unreliable. I met them up 3 hours after the meeting time in the city since they were busy at work (investment bank) but didn't bother to text me when I could expect to meet/view the place initially. Finally viewed it last night and thought it would be a convenient location to get around between home in the suburbs and the city.

What should I do? Hexagram 29.5 > 7

Take this as I will need to be persistent if I really want to move, otherwise again best to enjoy where I am for now.

Why do you think 15 to 64 means it doesn't happen? Not disagreeing - I don't know very well what I think - just wondering how you got to that conclusion.

The two hexagrams might mean something like "realistic fox-sense." 64 can be about sensing when you're prepared and it's safe to cross.

My only guess about the lines isn't much of a guess. I mostly wonder if it might depend on seeing them from just the right angle. In other words does the apartment situation have integrity, or is it calling on you to have your own and see things realistically? Either could be an answer to the question (I think...)

I can imagine 13.3 being an unfavorable comment on the roommate, or maybe on the location overall. Is the area safe?

I think 29.5 pretty much says not to be persistent, or at least that you don't have to be. Line 5 is a departure from 29: the chasms (risk-taking, plunging into the dark bravely, and so on) aren't chasms anymore, they've found their level and come to rest. 5th lines are the king's lines - you have choice and options.

Thanks, I got to that conclusion because I thought 64 can essentially be summarized as incomplete or unfinished. That said, I did text the person I am interested and the response was "I am not sure what the availability is of the other 2 rooms right now", which basically tells me this person is being unclear, picky, and sort of odd in my opinion. How can one not know the availability after showing me the apartment from just the previous day lol. The room is not ideal, but the building/location will work for my schedule so I am not hung up on it. I already decided to not persist as I have been pretty understanding of this person's work situation/concerns, but yes I do have options. Sort of prefer to move on to something else after receiving that odd text. Will update what happens.

The person I was going to live with in the building never got back to me. But another agent found a different unit in the same building. Now I feel all lost at sea what to do still. I want to be there but my gut is saying now is not the right time. I asked the i-ching:

How should I proceed living in the city with these roommates at this place? Hex 10.2.6 > 17

Guess this just says following, but not whether this is the right path for me.

how can I trust this guy? Hex 45.2.5 > 40

Line 2 means just "being drawn". but line 4 means not trust at all. Maybe it's because I don't trust this guy for some reason. He didn't bother to call me or

what should I do? Hex 20.5 > 23

Splitting apart either mean here don't take action just move in, or I split apart from them. Typically, my experience with hexagram 23 is that it is a natural organic occurrence trigger by an event/person rather me taking the initiate to split. But, I wonder if this is saying I should split from them versus it won't work out anyways.

Are the new readings about the new unit or the first one?

FINAL UPDATE = Split Apart (23). It's a different unit in the same building, but the update I parted ways (hexagram 23) with the agent and the unit in the building I was looking at. The agent was trying to get me and the other tenant to sign guarantor insurance because this third person she found had low credit, but I refused to go that path. I told the agent multiple times I would only room with qualified applicants, but she did not listen so I figured it was best I just leave the idea of living there. The agent did not seem to care about the quality of the tenants, because of course she makes commission on the units she helps to fill in the building. Furthermore, the 3rd tenant she had found was not to be trusted given his bad qualifications - no trust at all (hexagram 45.4).

Oh wait - just discovered that 45.2.4 to 40 isn't a possible cast. 45.2.4 changes to 29.

Did you mean 45.5? 45.2.5 does change to 40. And it's 45.5 that says "no trust at all," not 45.4.

You have three days to edit so you should still be able to.

Most likely a typo, but at this point, the situation has concluded. I soon as I thought about 23 I already knew the situation is over.

Except Clarity has a nifty gizmo called hexagram search which lets people enter the hexagram and lines they're interested in, and it returns a list of threads. People read the archives quite a lot to help with their own readings, and we'd like to keep things as accurate as possible.

This is a good example of that reading (whatever it actually was) because, as you say, it's nicely resolved. We'd really appreciate if you'd edit and fix it. If the window has expired and you can't, please post and confirm what the cast was and I'll fix it.
