Moving countries (moving back) H51.1 --> 16

Hello there I ching fellows,

I probably for the first time received a reassuring answer that made me feel that the oracle has spoken to me, so I wanted to share my experience and maybe even receive your thoughts on it.

some of you who have helped me a lot with previous interpretations might know that I have been going through a difficult break up and therefore in the midst of madness moved countries. I felt very unhappy where I moved. Yet my move and stay here was motivated with the thoughts "at least he is not here, in front of my eyes with his new woman" as well as some potential future hopes/illusions. My gut feeling was telling me to move back. I miss where I lived for the past 4 years and I felt like I need to face my fears of seeing X in his new life, whilst still myself being strongly in love with him. So I asked:

What should I expect when i come back to (......) in January?

H51.1 ---> 16

I received it as a positive omen, indicating my fears of coming back. I feel incredibly nervous and scared to go where me and him build life for 3 years, plus the adaption here has been so difficult that I am not sure my mental health could undergo that again. But at the same time, it is where I called home for a while. I interpreted it that this fear might lead my way to changing my attitudes, be less reactive, emotional, stay calm. I suffered from social anxiety before and it was mostly cos i convinced myself that noone likes me, etc. etc. and the line was maybe suggesting to change this attitude too. Since I am an artist, receiving H16 as a relating hexagram was quite an interesting sign pointing to, i hope, improved creative life. As in terms of facing my ex in his new life, likewise, it seems to indicate holding my cool (have no idea how to yet tho). So receiving such an answer I feel so much more certain in my decision to move back. Let's just hope that the fear won't paralyse me, but the changing line 1 indicates eventual success, so i will hope for that!

I agree. Sounds really nice for facing your fear of having to confront your ex with his new partner and a hopeful omen that in actuality the outcome will far outweigh the negative side to have gone through such a terrible break-up.

I like thinking about 51 as something breaking through which was before veiled, the cacophonous sound bursting through thick grey clouds. You may see your ex in a new light and the veil that once made you love him will have torn open to show truth. Those can be the most shocking revelations, when illusions of any form disappear suddenly, as if they weren't even there to begin with. And, vast amounts of energy can come out of that because all the emotional effort to maintain fear and sadness, or even yearning as it sometimes happens, no longer needs to be feed the energy. Crack and boom, enthusiasm is released. I wonder too if it may release some necessary anger that before now you've been unable to get in touch with, I only say that from out of my own experience, not necessarily from 51.1 > 16, although it works with 16 trigrams of the receptive earth and exciting thunder, perfect condition for a lightening bolt to strike down

Agreed, creative energy is evident, oh to be struck by that lightning and simmer in a promethean flow state, awake.

I can think of a number of possible scenaria:
You'll meet him and feel shock, but you'll turn it into a joke to pretend you're ok.
You'll meet him and he'll tell you a joke to pretend that everything is ok.
You'll meet other people and have a laugh and listen to music (and perhaps drink).
You'll meet other people, feel initially shocked but then laugh, and make art as you said.

In general when you go back things will be unsettled (51) and unclear (16).

Chingching - I would really wish for the veils to be taken off as I’m still as it happens very much in love and very much yearning, but at least stopping myself now from pursuing him. And it is so so true about investing energy to sadness and loss that there is a huge waste of it, would be amazing to redirect it elsewhere. If that is what the hexagram is suggesting - it is like a dream come true haha I am more likely to agree with your interpretation cos I guess I’m looking for reassurance and the hexagram for me certain sounded like one. Especially the changing line seem to indicate eventual success.

diamanda, well it is funny your interpretation since we both like to joke a lot. I agree that pretend is involved somewhere in there as the hexagram (if I remember it right) shows standing still in the thunderstorm with sacrificial objects (?), so pretending that all is fine and keeping my self dignity seems better than crying and showing emotions. But I sort of saw the answers as more positive with indication for success through shock, especially with the line 1 changing. I especially I guess saw the relating hexagram as breaking through the unsettling and actually settling, become on charge of the situation.

16. Humanity with all its highs and lows performing The Divine Comedy.

I get an image of you sitting in a theatre and at this moment the curtain goes up and it's a wild and wonderful circus of dancers and magicians carrying in a totally unexpected and unpredictable manner. In fact, members of the audience rise ups and start singing too! It's a flash mob scene!You are shocked and surprised and even wonder if you are in the right theatre but you decide to relax and join the show.

I next get an image of someone picking up a live wire but as they are also holding on to something that grounds them they do not get electrocuted. As it looks like you are casting your fate to the wind here, I would recommend you have strong inner resources!

Although this hexagram line didn't appear in your reading your situation brought 7.3 to my mind with it's advice against carrying old corpses when one goes off to fight new battles. I think it has to do with the importance of cleansing your mind of the past and completing your ties and obligations where you are now so that you will be able to see this fresh adventure clearly and without old projections fogging your experience.

The fact that you had a positive response to receiving 51.1 seems to be a good omen, I believe. I just don't want you to dive in totally naive. Remember luck favors the prepared mind!
