I have been thinking of starting a Patreon (place where people can pay to subscribe to your work and you produce content in return for that) for a while now. I’m glad I put it off because my idea of what I wanted to do with it totally changed in the meantime. Now I’m at a point where I’m not sure if I’m just procrastinating or if I’m genuinely just waiting for the elusive ‘right time’.

I genuinely can’t decide if this reading is positive. I actually remember replying to someone’s identical casting not long ago and it was a relationship that seemed not to go much of anywhere.

Two lines about sacrifice, one moving into the “empty city”. However, what I’m making is in a sense an “offering”. I’m making things, offering them, and the way I’m changing from my original idea is to actually make it a lot simpler (offer less instead of over giving from the start. Start small and see where it goes)

This looks like a “take the first step” kind of reading. I just don’t want to do something that’s not going to go anywhere and even though I can’t get guarantees for that I do wonder if there’s something in this reading I’m not seeing.

46.3 you'd see that you didn't get any cash in return.
46.4 you would then put an immense effort into it.
Resulting 16 doesn't sound promising for monetary gain.
To me it doesn't sound like a good time to start with Patreon.

Thanks for this! Yeah, I really felt unsure about this casting. It’s Line 3 that throws me. Some commentaries make it sound like it’s unimpeded progress and then simultaneously so many people seem to feel it’s just not productive at all. I guess at some point I’ll have to do an inventory and really see how it tends to express for me. 16 makes me hesitate honestly. I have found it to be excitement that is unfounded or isn’t well thought-out.

I did a casting on a few of the specifics of what I would do, literally just “If I did xyz” and got 7.6 > 4 which is another one of those lines that seems to be really widely interpreted. The line itself is pretty much exactly what I need to do but I’m not sure if Hex 4 is just a feature given that I can’t know exactly how things will unfold or if it’s a warning.

The sixth line is far removed from what the hexagram says - so here, there is no war, nothing to fight for, and also no expertise anymore. Perhaps this cast means that this is not the time for army generals / experts, but for ordinary people without any special skills (4). If you can apply this notion positively to what you asked, let me know, as you understand your query better than anyone.

Hmm. This is interesting to think about. I have been thinking of offering some support groups, just because I see the pattern of people needing this, and in those I wouldn’t be as much in the role of teaching (although I would moderate). I haven’t really seen that as a way to make money, just a very small contribution would be asked for to keep the groups running administratively. I wonder if it’s relevant in the sense of maybe it being a better time for that than some of the other things I was planning.

Line 7.6 says do not employ 'inferior' people. Pay them off with money for their contribution, but don't give them status. Quite tricky to interpret his in a situation of support groups. Maybe it would work out, I'm not sure on this one.
