Personal independence payment - PIP advise

My daughter is on disability allowance (middle tier). She has completed the replacement PIP forms - which caused her great anxiety.
She was sent a letter yesterday telling her that she would be interviewed at home by someone from capita - I cannot be there with her and she is panicking. Her default is to get cross with me she just did on the phone. The UK government are seeking to reduce those who do not need help or who are apparantly completely OK. My daughter has Bi polar and really needs this. Many people with this condition are having problems because unlike a physical issue things can look fine on the surface.

I asked the I Ching how this would go. I am going to phone tomorrow to change the appointment. But it does mean some risk to myself somewhat. My daughter said she has just painted my bedroom black!

My result was 15.1,6 to 22

This feels a bit as if I should take control

Sorry for bothering thou all. This sort of thing worries me. :hugs:

Is your question, How will my daughter's interview with Capita go? What is Capita?

Capita is a private company employed by the government to assess disabled people for benefit. Personal Independence Payment took over from DLA

My question was more about how I should approach this - but with a view to making the outcome more positive for my daughter.

Perhaps I should have asked this - and maybe the I Ching is sending this

To me this gives a picture of someone just doing their job plain and simple (15.1.6) and taking things as they appear (22). I wouldn't be very worried about the visit with this cast.

Do you think you really need to cancel the visit ? Years ago I attended with someone claiming the equivalent, then DLA. I thought I'd be some help in the 'interview' as I had helped with filling out the form. But it was clear to me the guy/dr had a job to do, boxes to tick, and basically it was not an interview in the way one imagines an interview. He was pretty much there to look and see for himself and to tick those boxes. They aren't interested in side stories or input from friends/relatives, they probably won't take much notice of you if you were there,

Also there are a lot of horror stories in the media which make out these people are out to get people and so on, whereas mostly, in reality they are just trying to do a job. Just trying to do a job, is what I see in the cast and hexagram 15 is an excellent cast for integrity, honesty, true work. So I feel the person who interviews her will be a person of integrity.

It is an important matter and you have to use your own judgment of course I'm just saying my feeling on this cast is that it will be okay. She only needs to present her medication, answer his questions...he may not even be there long. Is there anyone else who might pop by whilst he's there ?

As well as feeling the cast is promising I also feel it would be a pity to cancel since these things take so very long to get in the first place. After the interview that actual payment should be speeded up a great deal and she may even get a backlog payment. That payment when it comes will surely be such a lift and a huge relief so do you really want to defer the process ?

Oh cross posted, you may know more about the current system than I do but I do reckon the media hype it all up and misrepresent things which gives rise to panic, naturally.

Thank you so much for your input

My daughter gets very agitated if people arrive that she doesn't know - she probably wouldn't even answer the door. She might even throw something at him. She said she wants me there. She is on DLA at the moment and only got the letter about this interview yesterday

I will phone tomorrow and talk to them. Any same person visiting her could gather that things were not entirely right - but then she is clever and has the notion that if she appears ill they will send her back to the Unit. I think I also could see if someone else can be with her on Thursday perhaps fr social services (pigs might fly)

Thank you for your positive energy on this. As you say nothing is simpler than the truth
