It's the first time I ever publish a reading. I hope it will work out fine.

I asked this question: 'what if I create my own job keeping this one too?'

I ended a relationship not long ago and need to make some more money. My actual job pays the bills and that's it. It's not easy to find a part-time job because I have a son (9) and no family or friends around to help. So I thought I might have my own company and work online. Keeping my job that pays the bills, I would have this website working and eventually making some good money out of it.

My answer was:
5.2.5 to 36.

I'll copy/pat it all here, I hope this is the right way to do it, so people can help, maybe, with this reading...I'm not sure hexagram 36 is a good one...is it?

PS: I'm portuguese, sometimes I do not fully understand the meaning of some words...I guess.

Thank you all for trying to help.

R.

Key Questions

How can you wait patiently and with commitment?
While you wait, how can you best make yourself ready?

Oracle

‘Waiting, with truth and confidence.
Shining out, creating success: constancy brings good fortune.
Fruitful to cross the great river.’

You wait for what you need, like a farmer waiting for the weather to change. This is not a passive state; you can dance for rain, influence events by bringing yourself into harmony with the outcome you need. But you cannot force this, you can only attend to it. You will need patience: it may all take much longer than you had imagined. When you are fully present in waiting, your intense attention shines out like a beacon, beginning a creative engagement with the world – not by working on anything, but by waiting on it and holding your faith.

And in crossing the river, committing yourself to go as far as you can towards what you’re waiting for, you begin the transition into the world where it is real.

Image

‘The clouds are above heaven: Waiting.
A noble one eats, drinks and relaxes with music.’

Sequence

Waiting follows from Hexagram 4, Not Knowing:
‘Young things cannot do without nourishment, and so Waiting follows. Waiting means the way of eating and drinking.’

Pair

Waiting forms a pair with Hexagram 6, Arguing:
‘Waiting means no progress, Arguing means no connection.’

Changing Lines

Line 2

‘Waiting on the sands, there are small words.
In the end, good fortune.’

Line 5

‘Waiting with food and drink.
Constancy, good fortune.’

Hexagram 36, Brightness Hidden

Key Questions

When no one is looking, who are you?
How do you safeguard that light?

Oracle

‘Brightness hidden.
Constancy in hardship bears fruit.’

In the last days of the Shang dynasty as it fell into corruption, Prince Ji was one of the very few virtuous men remaining at court. Remonstrating with the ruler would invite brutal retributions; to flee would be a shameful desertion.

The story goes that once, the king and his entourage were so drunk they literally didn’t know what day it was. Messengers were sent to ask Ji. Rather than reveal himself as the only one who knew, he feigned drunkenness and madness. In this way he was able to survive through the last days of Shang without compromising his principles by cooperating with the regime.

‘Brightness Hidden’ also means ‘Brightness Wounded’. Since others do not share your standards or insight, it would be dangerous to let the light of your character shine out freely. Perhaps you have been injured; perhaps you fear injury. Yet you cannot, or will not, leave the situation in search of a stronger position. Instead, you stay true to the light and keep it burning in these hard times by hiding it away.

Image

‘Brightness enters the earth’s centre: Brightness Hidden.
A noble one, overseeing the crowds, uses darkness and light.’

Sequence

Brightness Hidden follows from Hexagram 35, Advancing.
‘Advancing necessarily has occasion for injury, and so Brightness Hidden follows; Brightness Hidden means injury.’

and Yi's answer, 5.2.5 to 36.

THE JUDGMENT

WAITING. If you are sincere,
You have light and success.
Perseverance brings good fortune.
It furthers one to cross the great water.

Wait long enough to assess the truth in this situation, and the best path of success. When you've found it you may create this new job.

Nine in the second place means:
Waiting on the sand.
There is some gossip.
The end brings good fortune.

As you attempt to work out this new job, you might meet with naysayers and gossipers who want to hold you back from your true potential. Do not listen to them, if you plan out your path wisely it will succeed no matter what.

Nine in the fifth place means:
Waiting at meat and drink.
Perseverance brings good fortune.

Basically, a great omen. Keep yourself nourished and fit as you plan out the way to achieve success with this new job.

There's a few negative lines in Hexagram 5, but you didn't get any of them, so it's a very good sign, even though it changes into an ominous one.

/all this is simply my interpretation
