Please Help With Dream Interpretation!

Hello To All!
This is the first time I've consulted The Yi about a dream.
Dream: 2 of my brothers, and their wives, and their sons show up unannounced at my
apartment. They are all carrying cardboard boxes. I asked, What does this dream
mean? I got: 44 .2.4.6. > 39

Please Help!!

You feel they are encroaching on your space, pushing you around a bit ? What kind of cardboard boxes, shoe boxes, big packing boxes ?- The kind of box might give you some idea of what you think the intent is. You don't say how you feel about them arriving unannounced with the boxes, thats the crucial factor - are you pleased to see them or not. From the 44 I'm guessing you feel its a bit of an intrusion ?

I have been doing dream divinations for a long time, so maybe I can help a you little with this one.

First, you need to understand that dreams are messages about the direction your are currently going in. Dreams are prophetic only when you do not change what you are doing. If you change your thoughts and attitudes and actions, then your life will go in a direction different from what was indicated by your dream. The messages we receive through our dreams, therefore, are not set in concrete.

Another important principle of dream interpretation is that the things we dream of are symbolic, not representational. This means that if, for example, you have a dream about someone you know, the dream is not about that specific person, but is rather about the attributes you associate with that person. Most of the time when we dream about other people, the other people in the dream only symbolize different aspects of our own selves.

Hexagram 44 suggests this as well, describing both good and difficult things, indicating the potential for both. Your situation, in other words, has the capacity to go either way. Part of the meaning of this hexagram warns you not to marry such a maiden, which means for you that you should avoid your association with something, or stop doing something, or that you should not pursue your plans to do something. On the other hand, this hexagram also says that all things unfold to the high point of their material manifestation. This is the other side of that coin. Your situation could unfold in that direction, in other words, if you make appropriate changes, if you change direction.

Line 2 indicates that things hold together, or at least have been holding together.

Line 4 indicates that what has been holding together is replaced with misfortune. Whatever your dream is referring to, in other words, stops holding together for you.

The top line seems to describe some kind of argument or discordant difference of wills that you could experience with someone.

All this develops into Hexagram 39, Obstruction. This means difficulties. It says here that the superior man turns his attention to himself and molds his character. In other words, you need to look within yourself to figure out what in your daily life this dream is referring to. When you solve that problem, then making the appropriate change will be quite easy for you. And then, all things concerning this matter will unfold to the high point of their material manifestation.

The second moving line for Hexagram 44 says that a fish is in the tank and all is well. This means that things are (or were) contained, under control.

The fourth moving line says that there is no fish in the tank. Using the same language as before, it suggests that something might be out of control.

You said this made you think of your relationship with your husband. If your relationship with your husband seems out of control to you, I would urge you to do a divination about your husband, asking something like, "What should I do about my relationship with my husband?"

Well, it seems to me that you and your husband are going to be parting ways with each other.

Hexagram 47 means Oppression (Exhaustion). It means being hemmed in while still being hopeful. It tells of hard times, but says definitely there is no reason to give up. This speaks to your current situation with your husband, and tells you nothing new except that you must not give up. You must persevere.

Line 5 tells you that you will not attain your will until you have made proper offerings and libations. In other words, if you want to be happy, you are going to need to sacrifice (jettison) your husband.

Line 6 tells you not to do anything about it yet. It says that this realization will make you more content and hopeful, but this is not the time to act. Do not scream, "I want a divorce!" at him just yet, in other words.

In the context of what we have learned so far, Hexagram 64 seems to be telling you the same thing, that this is not the time to cross over to the other side of the river. Bide your time.

I do not know why the I Ching is telling you to refrain from bringing things to a head, but that is what it is saying. However, this does tie in neatly with Hexagram 2 that you received in a previous divination about this general thing. It is interesting how all the bits and pieces of these readings tie in with and reinforce each other.

Perhaps if you wait and are patient, your husband will bring up the matter of divorce, or he will angrily stomp our of your life forever, or whatever. I don't know. You will have to wait and see.

Anyway, this reading as a whole is telling you that you and your husband are going to be going your separate ways, but for you to sit tight and not do anything about it yet.

Actually, Jim, It does make sense. We would both need to be in a stable financial
position before we go our separate ways since we would, of course, still both have to
co-parent our 5 year-old daughter, who is autistic. It does seem that I'll be shedding
my skin soon, doesn't it? I will keep you posted, and thanks so much again for your
