Rearrangement of political power?

I asked the I Ching: Are we approaching a disturbance or rearrangement of the way political power works in my country? (the U.S.) This was not based on anything except an unfounded intuitive sense that something was shifting.

I got 15.1.4>55

15 being Modesty but also perhaps Authenticity (I've seen both interpretations of 15), it seems this could either mean: people will start speaking up with integrity and that will produce political change or that change will happen through the actions of those who are being quiet and unassuming and playing their cards close to the chest (Modesty).

The outcome will lead to 55 (Abundance) which is awesome but also signifies inevitable decline *because* things are so good, the civilization is so developed; you are like "the sun at midday" and therefore you're going to start setting--but things are good and you should rejoice nonetheless.

Or, alternately, 55 is the heart of the matter--we're a civilization at its peak and on the way down, and we will realize our Abundance in the context of understanding this and being Modest.

Oh, argh. I just went to Lise's excellent page and discovered yet a third meaning for 15. Teamwork.

So which is it? Being modest/playing things close to the chest? Being authentic and speaking one's own truth? Or speaking in such a way that it pulls people together and enables teamwork? or all three?

Yet another meaning

apparently 15 also carries the connotation of "levelling out" no highs that are too high, no lows that are too low. Which in this context reminds me of democracy, of striving against inequality of various kinds, and of not emphasizing or giving too much to any one side. Yet in the context of Modesty, this looks like a struggling against inequality that is extremely judicious and soft-spoken.

It would be great if anybody could hack me a path through this admittedly delightful jungle of related meanings of 15!

No need to worry about which meaning applies, they all do in their own way. One of the delightful parts of the I Ching is that it can have many different interpretations, all correct.

Now, I do not normally respond to these kind of questions because when it comes to political questions, there could be 10's of 1000's of people asking, and you would get every answer the I Ching could respond with. And it is not personal to the reader alone. So I stay away.

That being said, here I will say one thing. Your intuition is VERY correct. We are entering into a new age, and life on planet earth will change radically, not only in this country but throughout the world. We see the beginnings of this in 2013, and it will continue for a number of years, I do not know how long. We will have to go through hard times, but then we will enter a golden age.

This is not some kind of voodoo. We see the evidence of this in the fiscal cliff the country is supposedly going through. What most people do not understand is that it makes no difference whether a deal is reached or not, the end result is economic catastrophe. I don't know how long it will take for it to all come down, but it will.

Now, I will say no more on this subject because this is not a political forum, at least not on a prediction of what will happen. I will only say, look at the astrological situation (if you believe in that, if not, check it out) where presently Pluto is in Capricorn, (destruction of governments) while Uranus is in Aries square to Pluto. We just had a full moon a few days ago with sun conjunct Pluto and Moon opposite and square Uranus. This is not bad in itself, but will be very harsh going through, because it portends serious repercussion for the government when the people start to voice their concerns. That is the real reason they are trying to take our guns. But this is turning into a political speech again so I will stop.

As far as the reading though, notice the commentary on line one, W/B says, "...is made more difficult if many claims and considerations..." Compare that to what is going on in the healthcare situation we are facing, (just one of many instances). And line four, "They hide behind the letter of the ordinance, decline all responsibility, accept pay without giving its equivalence in work, and bear empty titles." Perhaps that fits our legislators well? Or our president? Or both?

Thanks, Gene

It's good to know that others are feeling the same thing.

I should state here that although I have political opinions (lots of them) I wan't thinking about any of them, or looking for a particular answer in this reading. It wasn't an attempt to make a political point. What I had been feeling for a long time was stagnation, in the sense of nothing moving, nothing going to move in the near future. During this period I got Hex. 29 unchanging a lot, until I figured that the I Ching had given me its answer and that was that until further notice. So I didn't do readings on the political situation anymore for a while--not only did it seem pointless, it also seemed, however odd this sounds, rude to the I Ching itself. So I just let it lie.

Then I sensed this feeling of shifting and movement like feeling thunder far away or rumblings of an earthquake that is happening hundreds or thousands of miles away from you, and I thought: well, either that's all in my head, or I'm actually sensing something. Wonder which it is? And I asked, and got what I find to be an intriguing answer, not at all what I expected. And I think I understand the 55 part of the answer much better than I understand 15.

So I'm not trying to make this forum a political debate forum--I've got lots of those on the web I can go to if I want. I really am curious about the answer, and since it wasn't about any particular political agenda, I figured it wouldn't be inappropriate to post it here.

On top of that, I'm thinking that the political disagreements of right now are going to end up being a lot less important than whatever is coming up the pike at us.

So thank you for being willing to respond; I really appreciate it.:)
