I'm new to this board and fairly new to IC. I'm hoping to get some help interpreting my most recent hexagram. Here's the situation: Earlier this year I met a man. He asked me out, but it was never clear to me if he was asking me on a date or if he was more interested in being friends. After several "dates" I decided he must only be interested in friendship because he hadn't really made a move. So we continued to spend time together - we have lots in common and always make each other laugh - but I grew frustrated because just when I would think I was seeing signs of romantic interest, things would seem to regress. He also mentioned that he was still not quite over his ex-girlfriend (they broke up early this year). So after a few months of "dating" said man, I consulted the IC to ask for guidance on our relationship. My answer was Hexagram 12.3 > 33, which I took as a pretty clear sign to back away from the situation. I also thought it was telling me that the reason things weren't happening between us was due to someone having a major fear of rejection, but it wasn't clear to me if it was him or me or both of us. So I began trying to accept the fact that we would only be friends. I stopped initiating anything and only saw him when he extended an invitation (which he still did about 1x week). And I started dating someone else.
A few weeks later, he asked me how I had spent my weekend, so at this point I mentioned to him that I was dating someone. He didn't seem upset, but he did ask a lot of questions about the other guy. My female friend who knows the situation and saw us both a bit later said she thought he seemed sad, but I didn't notice that. Anyway, I'm no longer dating the other guy and my male friend is aware of this. I felt like something had possibly shifted in our relationship in a positive way, so I decided to consult the IC again. This time the answer I got was Hexagram 11.1.4.5 (that's how you show changing lines, yes?) > 28.
I THINK that this means things are currently in a very good place between us BUT that things are changing and something needs to be done to prevent deterioration of the relationship? Or possibly that things are good/have the potential to be good, but the underlying confusion about our feelings needs to be brought out into the open so it can be resolved? I'm interpreting the changing lines of Hex. 11 to be advising me to take action, take a risk by talking to him about my/his feelings, and be open and vulnerable. I would so appreciate any feedback on this!
