We had to close our dessert shop due to pandemic. We’d like to reopen so we asked YI which opening hours would be the best for us. (Probably we have to change it because the lower interest. less tourists).

In the first version we’d like to be open from Wednesday to Sunday between 10 am to 6pm - we asked what will we experience? The answer is 33.1 > 13

Is it dangerous to retreat? Maybe the income will be too week? Or the opposite: good to retreat these days and not open full time?

But the first line says this solution is week, just a probing. Hmmm

Second version: open from Monday to Sunday just like before pandemic, just with shorter opening hours (from 10AM to 6PM). The answer is 47.4 > 29

It sounds good, but this will be hard and slow. At the end emergency will be gone and everything will be ok. Maybe this is not the perfect way? Should I check another option? This line suggest I had to open my mind…

What do you think? Thanks!

A dessert shop? Can you be across the street from me, please? 😋

Re: your readings, hopefully other people will have better ideas. All I keep thinking is neither of these sound like a ringing endorsement.

33.1 - can think of two possibilities, don't know which is right, maybe neither is:
(a) if you do this, you'll experience a tail in trouble (higher risk of getting ill?)

(b) if you do this, you'll be keeping your tail barely out of trouble. The best you can do under the circumstances is keep minimally afloat - you can't actually thrive or make plans, and you shouldn't try. "Doing well" right now means merely generating enough income to ward off crisis, something like that.

47.4 - 7 days a week as a heavy, lumbering, over-decorated chariot, but it does still move along... 47 might mean you'll feel exhausted, working that hard with less business than usual.

I really don't know. It could be that anything you do will end up sub-optimal right now, and Yi's more-or-less telling you that, and then you can set hours based only on what you'd rather do, or something.

Could you experiment? Try one for a while, see how it goes, maybe that would make it more clear? (But I'm not getting that from the reading, it's just a thought.)

Also wonder if it would help to ask another, more general question. "Guidance (/advice) about re-opening?" or something. Often the more readings, the more confusion, but sometimes not.

Here's a blog article Hilary wrote about general-vs.-specific questions, if you'd like to read it. https://www.onlineclarity.co.uk/answers/2015/08/05/yi-and-decisions-a-cautionary-tale/

Dear Liselle, unfortunately probably I am a bit more farther from your street, in Eastern Europe :)

I was thinking about opening in two steps, maybe that can be the solution, but I am not happy with this situation and business forecast....Maybe there are some other options. I've made a general cast before these questions, but the answer was too "general" so thats's why I made these 2 "clarifying" questons :)

That was 54.2 > 51 I don't say the answer is more clear and positive for me. This looks like the other two: I can't manage in the best way "Blind in one eye" but somehow... Maybe as you write, in this afterpandemic time we can't expect more... and I have to be positive and stedfast also.

And another: a month ago I asked YI what if I do "soft opening" which means we make dessert just to take away and not to walk in - the answer was 38.3 > 14. I didn't have enough time to interpret this, but now I see this is similar to the others spiced with a little HR stress. Maybe I would like to give job for the whole team, but this is not a realy good option yet. If I make a shorter opening time and service, some members of our team would be angry, hmmm...
