I asked this question twice (I dont know why maybe because of doubt, just different times in the day):

The first time: Should I register for the CFA course program? Hexagram 57 unchanging

Second time: Should I register for the CFA class? Hexagram 25.3 to Hexagram 13

Not sure what these responses mean. It's an exam that would require lots of studying and money. Hexagram 57 indicates gentleness - maybe indicating the approach to take in my studying. Hexagram 25.3 indicates some issues I'm running into and someone else getting the advantage over me? Hexagram 13 shows some type of relationship maybe the amount I pay to take this class and now were in some "contract", or maybe I will make new friends? Any feedback appreciated.

When a passerby takes the tethered ox, it is a misfortune for the townspeople. I have always read this as an unfavorable omen, maybe because I am more identified with the townspeople in residence than with traveler ...

Hi,
without the context, what I'll say is pure speculation. Not sure whether the Yi "responds" to CFA itself or the course you are thinking to take. ( if its about the provider, I mean)

H57 doesn't say a yes or no. Usually it asks to look again at the subject matter. Do you really want to do that or not.

25.3>13. : 13 could be you entering the clan of Chartered Analysts as for 25.3 might be about the way you are going to achieve it, through the specific course. Maybe its just say to consider again that course and not the CFA. To my experience re 25.3 sometimes we are the ones we benefit and other the ones we lose. I got a similar reading about a course too, which was quite expensive and after a further research found another , better and cheaper.

btw, if my memory helps me, wasn't you considering if that direction( finance) is what you want to do ? If yes, might 57 refers to that.

Unexpected misfortune 25.3

Yes and no questions are often hard to interpret.

Having said that, Hex 25 line 3 speaks of unexpected undeserved misfortune. I rec'd this combination a month ago when asking about an investment I was planning. Last week our furnace broke, in sub zero temperatures, so the investment money had to be spent on a new furnace. Truly unexpected and undeserved.

You may want to ask "what would happen if ...". The answer may be more forthcoming.

Pocossin - I did find out and I am in qualified to take this exam since I have a degree and some work exp.

Ginnie- its funny you say that, I felt it was unfavorable when I first read the hexagrams too.

Anemos - I'm not sure I want to take the CFA mainly because I'm not prepared yet. You are right that I was unsure about finance ( I am still unsure b/c the markets are unstable for it and I'm not as competitive in it), but given I am a Finance Analyst now, and that I was a finance intern before I believe there is an aspect of it that I enjoy. I want to do finance now, but then maybe try to do a program in Comp Sci and combine with Finance (Since it has some many dimensions and I love computers).

I can take CFA level 1 exam in June or December. I might postpone to test in December, self study till June and reenforce the concepts with the program starting in June just since my memory is weak.

Since you did bring it up ichingtarot, I decided to ask the I-ching again for clarification...

What would happen if I registered for the CFA exam? Hexagram 64 Unchanging

Unfinished whether or not I what to take it? Still looking for cheaper classes, other if can't find some will postpone til December.

Is registering for the CFA course (live classes) a good idea? Hexagram 46 Unchanging

Not sure how to interpret that one...going with some classes is a good idea, but not this one?

You cannot reach your goal in one big leap. Take a step-by-step approach and build a solid foundation.

and some year ago I guess you couldn't read a balance sheet but now you do ;)

I like Finance too but not my fav subject and always was the subject of conflict between my professors and me . Sounds an interesting idea the combination with compSci . Using your assets to create value is the core of Finance .

When I get 64 usually is about my angst and Yi sends a note ":mischief:64:mischief:) I don't see something alarming in both reading. just that is a difficult task and you should watch your steps.

good luck :)

I can see that.

Here's my own recollection. I used to own a home on the edge of a large apple orchard in Wenatchee, WA. It was known as "the apple capital of the world", so I never felt guilty when I'd either pick up a fallen apple or one that called out to me, eat me! It was their loss, but I doubt it would be any sort of measurable one. My parents came for a visit, and my father looked like he was in paradise, walking through the apple scented orchards. The wanderers sure gained a lot, the citizens weren't hurt by it in the least, though technically our gain was at their expense, which around there at time time was seen more as generosity toward wanders in general.

I like Wilhelm's moral to this story, that a wanderer must accommodate themselves to the opportunities presented, or misfortune is more likely to overtake them. Or they just miss out of some of life's simple but most memorable pleasures; recalling my wife and I skinny dipping in a river on someone's private property in Woodstock, NY, one beautiful summer afternoon.

A young man climbed a tall peak in the desert, during midday in July, to perform a life-changing ceremony. In the process the sun burned him up pretty badly, and the one gallon of water, which I insisted he take along, ran out. On his trip back, he was met by an elderly woman, who handed him two cold bottles of water, both which were emptied before he returned to my air conditioned dwelling, where he slept and hydrated. None of this was his own, but he was able to find his own there.
