There is a friend whom I left a text message to and they haven't contacted me since. It's been almost 2 months now, I was thinking of reaching out again but this time sending a voice message to at least prevent misunderstandings (so they can at least hear my tone of voice). Now, I asked the I-Ching "What would come of sending the voicemail to X while in a calm centered state? And it came out as 63.2>5.

Is this simply just saying to wait it out? I interpreted it as to reach out after a 7 day period OR to just let things be. I feel like the second one is more accurate, trying to tell me to just let things be and when the time is right, they'll reach out, and for the time being, I should just enjoy myself and my life as much as possible, Hex 5: "The Superior Person nourishes himself and remains of good cheer to condition himself for the moment of truth."

Any insight is appreciated thank you.

Normally 63.2 seems pretty clear to me, don't chase after the thing you have in mind to chase. Which in this case would mean don't send the voice message, you'll hear from the person without it.

However - I think common sense says if you send someone a text message and they haven't responded in two months, and if you can't think of any reasonable explanation for that (can you?) - chances are they missed the message, accidentally deleted it or something.

Plus you asked what would happen if you send it. Maybe it means don't worry if the person doesn't respond right away then, either? Give them some time this time, too?

It was a message confronting some issues in the connection. And this person has a tendency to run away from conflict, so they for sure saw it. I was just trying to bring some things to light but the fact that it was a text message might have made them spiral into confusion (since it lacked clarity in tone of voice, body language, etc).

I feel like it's the obvious meaning. Just allow things to be and they will come when it's right, the thing you so seek is here and now. Don't chase after what already belongs to you (aka the friendship).

The second interpretation you provided is what first came to mind for me but idk. Sometimes I think the I-Ching provides me with advice that leads to the solution rather than an answer to the question, and if it is truly advice, then that first interpretation makes much more sense to me.

I think your instinct will probably be the best decider. You know the person and your relationship. Plus if you call when you kind of feel you shouldn't, you can't undo that. But if you feel you want to call sometime in the future, you could revisit it.
