Meeting one's lord in a narrow street is a metaphor for finding one's true path and direction. One in serious error can rectify by "setting disharmony right when it is in full force" - Liu I Ming. The negative assessment implied in my statement to the I Ching is the misunderstanding that requires resolution. The line resultant, Hex 21 Shih Ho, indicates the need for cutting through to an accurate assessment.

Not a good beginning, but a good end.

The companion - the higher-self - bites his way through the wrappings, the misconceptions that have clouded our judgement. 'One goes to him' by accepting and integrating the glimmering insights that the higher-self perceives. The line resultant, Hex 10 Lu, indicates that this is a careful and steady process.
The Nuclear Resultant, Hexagram 37, Chia Jen, The Family
The nuclear resultant, Hex 37 The Family, incorporates within its meaning the gentle control of ego/idea - Sun above Li. The three lines of the lower trigram, Li, reveal progressively the effects of a rising ego-self within a shared environment. In Line 1 the ego-self is securely contained within its purposeful role within the community, in Line 2 it begins to lose perseverance in self-containment by yielding to self-indulgent patterns of behaviour.
