Hello :)

I have been struggling with lots of emotional baggage (hurt, bad treatment from those I tried to help, lots of things, I guess all the standard stuff).

Things are better than what they were a year back or even six months back, but still far away from normal. This actually makes me cringe at how bad things actually were.

Unfortunately too many things went wrong for too long a time, and all that has left a certain amount of conditioning in the mind which is difficult to overcome.

Anyways, I have been trying to hard to overcome these issues and get back on my feet, but it is proving to be a very steep uphill struggle. I am making progress but I feel that I am missing some key element, something which I am just not getting about how to break out of this negative spiral.

I asked the YI - why am I not able to overcome my problems, and got 42.1.6->8

This seems to be a hopeful reading and yet line 6 is negative. It is very right in that, I am not able to keep my heart steady and have lost my orientation in judging people and circumstances. It's hard for me to figure out when someone means well and when they want to hurt me. All this keeps the mess going on, while I am frantically trying to get out of it :)

Any thoughts on what it might mean and how I can take some cues towards actionable steps. That's what I really need to do - take steps and do something and get out of this. I have lost enough of my life to these issues, and really just need to overcome them with and have some semblance of normalcy in my life.

This is a wonderful reading and somehow echoes your posts , the parts you acknowledge you have done some progress and things are better than they used to be. But , as you said, are ancient old issues, and you just need time to manage.

I personally agree with the idea that you never get rid those baggages but learn better ways to handle it. I see nothing abnormal in everything you say. Perhaps you are suspicious , or better, extra careful, but this is a part of yourself, that tries to protect you. Embrace that part of yourself, listen to it (42.6) and try to see how you can help it and help you. That's the main theme of both readings imo.

There is a " not good enought" about your efforts and the results, but, imo, yi says, you are doing a good job. There are things happen under the surface (7), and those missing keys, appear suddenly, and we have that "change of heart". It's like nothing new , profoundly different has take place, but we are not the same.

It is indeed frustrating to feel the existence of those keys, but can't see it.... it takes time and the reveal themselves. Perhaps don't try too much, and be more gentle to the old self that kicks in and try to protect you, perhaps in a not very useful way. Don't punish that part, just listen to it and calm it. Offer a new perspective and remind her that you are the overseer and the general. I feel that the lines and hexagram Yi offer you, include some ques on what both of you need to discuss.

I got this line a couple of days ago, about a professional matter, when anxiety kicked in. Those voices started mess my mind. They have some points but on the other hand, aren't very helpful and make me loose my balance. I bounce back much much better. It's about bouncing back, I think. This is why I believe, that you will always carry those baggage, but the become lighter and lighter and let you move on.

It's a nice, rich and caring reading.

Thank you anemos :hug: Yes, I am beginning to get some cues about what needs to be done. Some more readings suggest nourishing and taking care of the inner self :) :bows:

Don't give up. Down is not out. Not where (how) you want to be means keep going till you get there.

Bradford calls 19 Overseeing.
Think of it as taking charge of it, and getting to work.
Maybe you didn't cause the mess but,
You could take responsibility for cleaning it up.

19.1 makes me think of a support group.
There is something about knowing that other people went through similar experiences
that can make one feel a little less alone and a little more empowered.
And you may hear some amazingly helpful advice (may even surprise yourself with the advice you give another)

And it may be useful to think on your progress as 46 instead of a button to press that gets you where you want to be instantly.
