Two questions (one reading, one deep question)

Hey all

I've tried to interpret my own readings as much as I can, however sometimes they just elude me, so I've got a reading and also a question for you all.

First the reading:

I'm in a kinda relationship (we both said that we liked each other but neither of us wants a relationship right now due to not wanting to be bound by anything or anyone) that is becoming more and more important to me everyday, so I just asked "Where does X want our relationship to go?" and got Hex 14 unchanging.

To me that is an extremely positive answer, however I don't want to delude myself or anything like that, so I come to you asking for some clarity!!.

Now the question:

I've noticed the past few months that I'm obsessed with language (not just my language but any language), so I decided to do an in depth study of my readings, what I see is that there are two main and different types of questions for me, first is the personal type of question (i.e.: questions that have the words me, mine, etc.) that refer mostly to experiences, situations, events from my point of view and the objective type of question (i.e: questions that mostly have the word 'the') that refer to things that happen to me (or any querent) but aren't seen from my point of view but from a more "universal" POV (so to speak).

Anyways after that lengthy introduction, what do you think about the object of the question, I mean, is there a huge difference between asking a question personally, thinking about oneself and asking a question that has to do with oneself but seen from an external point of view??

I ask this because I'm starting to wonder whether questions should be asked personally (in order to gain more insight into anything from a personal, but biased, point of view) or objectively (to gain a more unbiased, but also harder to understand, point of view).

It also occurs to me that any answer is by definition incomplete, due to the fact that no one sees the full scope of any situation.

What do you guys think??

I think yi shows an external point of view, mostly when you least expect it to. There is a sense of its answers not being directed by the conscious 'you'. I always consider it the same as I have for any divination that being like a phone line being connected through to my higher self. So I think a very personal subjective questioon yeilds insight as much as a more objective one like, 'show me a picture' or 'what is the quality of the time right now'. That being said I do find the latter to cut to the important stuff, and sometimes I feel as if even though I may have asked a specific subjective question, the answer from yi cuts to the chase anyway, and I see that in your reading.

14 uc, I walked pass the local church and on its billboard was 'sharing a talent is what makes it a gift'. To me that's 14uc. Also I find it often says to me, you already have what it takes, but in terms of your particular query I get a sense of it is what it is, it is already great.

Thus the superior man curbs evil and furthers good,
And thereby obeys the benevolent will of heaven.

stay on top of any destructive urges, keep the good stuff flowing and in that way you will receive because behaving like this is a celebration of the gift giving nature of the universe.

"The most important decision we make is whether we believe we live in a friendly or hostile universe."
- Albert Einstein

If you terminate evil and raise good, what does it matter knowing exactly what your partner intends, the energy emanating from a person who raises good will tend towards 'the benevolent nature of the universe'.

Also whenever I ask these questions myself I stop before consulting yi and ask, hang on there what is it that I want out of this?

Thank chingching, sometimes I do believe that the answers are somehow given by something so much greater than any of us, the thing is that sometimes I think that subjective answers seem to be incomplete, to me Yi sometimes says "this is what you wanted to hear, so here it is, but that's not the complete picture".

I don't quite follow what you're trying to say here, although the quote is really beautiful and I think I'll save it for later!!

I did understand the answer like you said, but I want to know where she wants us to go, the thing is that lately I've been entertaining the notion of us as a couple and all those things, so I wanted to know her point of view, and yes I do want something great out of this, hence my question

14 is often about what you have to offer, give, as your biggest asset, its also about your talents and material assets too. I think someone once said the hexagram reminded them of a briefcase.

Hilary has a great blog post on 14, and LiSe's commentary focusses on talents:

There is a higher purpose behind your abilities, behind all gifts from Heaven. And there is a desire to respond to that higher purpose. Talents derive their value from the target they are used for.
If you use every talent you have as best you can, then you will attract the blessings from Heaven. Don’t expect Heaven to carry you though, its gifts come with the condition to use them and also use them free from egoism. The talents for living and loving are the really big ones. But small ones can also achieve a lot.
