Two Relationship Questions: 16>35 AND 54>55

Hi everyone. I was wondering if someone can give me a hand with a couple of relationship questions I've been pondering for a while.

Background: One of my closest friends and I have been circling each other for a months in a romantic way. We are very close friends and have, off and on, toyed with the idea of being in a romantic relationship but for mostly timing reasons (been dating others, living in different cities etc) we haven't taken that step. We have also discussed the inevitable if-it-doesn't-work-could-we-be-friends-at-the-end issue.

The last couple of weeks he seems to have been more than usually attentive and very, um, focussed on the similarities in our nature's.

I asked the iching two questions and have contemplated the answers for a couple of weeks now. I've read everything I could find here on these hexagrams and also LiSe's board and would be most grateful for any insights you all may have.

Question 1: What was going on with MyDarling in the past 2 weeks?

Answer: 16.6 > 35

Question 2: Is it likely that he & I will end up as a couple?

Answer: 54.2.3 > 55

I think you already know the answers, hope it does not hurt too much, starting with Q2, you can end up as a couple but Yi has doubts it would be a satisfactory relationship.
Quoting from Hilary's answer newsletter:

When a woman receives this hexagram in response to a relationship question, I've learned to ask her whether the man isn't already involved with someone else. Very often, he is - and the poor 'second woman' explains that she never wanted to fall in love with him...

54.3 is a clear indication to wait for "true love" or something like that, rather than getting involved in a secondary relationship.

With one eye you are not blind, but vision is not too sharp, can be interpreted in several ways ( a half-baked relationship, not having a deep vision of the facts, a solitary man, a recluse) but no interpretation is very positive, at least in the near future; could be a hint to let him alone to solve his problems for a while.

16.6 talks about a kind of drunk happiness.

In any hexagram:

line position 6 is influenced by 23,
line position 2AND3 is influenced by 46.

In any hexagram:

the influence of the line positions of a hexagram expressed through any other is to XOR that hexagram with the one under consideration.

23 XOR 16 = 35
46 XOR 54 = 55

IOW the 23-ness of 16, with 16s focus on use of foresight and planning, is described by 35 - 'keeping the faith', making expression at the level of core elements, removing the chaff, is done through bringing 'something' into the light for all to see - IOW that is how 16 'housekeeps' - bringing things out into the open.

The 46-ness of 54 is described by 55, where the focus on getting more entangled (46), in this context of operating through immature or premature expression, 54, is done through the sense of overflowing, diversity, abundance, too much - 55.

IOW 54 'pushes upwards' in an excessive, over-abunding manner - that instinctive energy expenditure of 54 at work. As such an interpretation would be things could be 'too hasty' to get entangled under the current situation.

Thank you both for your response. It pretty much confirmed my view of the reading and the situation overall.

Interestingly the situation has taken a rather unexpected turn with this person. I have had some very expensive jewellery disappear and cannot conclusively rule out his involvement.

I created a separate post for this. If anyone has time or the interest I'd be interested to hear your views.
