Hi everyone
Daily readings are too much for me right now, so I decided to do a weekly reading.

My kid is getting better, i am afraid the older one or me we get the flu.
I'm going to visit a prospective place of work that would alow me to ask for the so desired part-time in the other place i work.
This is what i preview.

As usual, i asked for and advice for the week to be happy and serene. I was thinking of me and of the kids.

10.2.4.5 > 27 threading to nourishment.

Is 27 about money??? I read somewhere in an answer... Nourishment can be something else, right?
I do feel like i am threading on exciting but tricky paths as far as work is regarded...

But it looks promising, no?
Any help?
Should i read the hidden lines? 3 changing lines is a lot...

You need to take care this week, it might be quite a nail biting time as if you feel on the edge. You can suceed however...but think very carefully about what you and the kids NEED thats the hex 27.

So you are very carefully (hex 10) trying to get what you need (hex 27) and you can do that that by being focused and a little bit daring (10.5) there may be a point this week where you feel you just went too far and things aren't going to work (10,4)...they can work but be very careful and be quite precise about what you actually need.

maybe make lists of income and expenditure...look where your money is going...things like that and how your new part time job is going to work....but yes be bold, be daring, but be careful too

oh 10.2 indicates you can just get along by yourself right now...you have your plans, thats fine you don't need anyone interfering with your way of doing things. Do things your own way

carry the reading around with you in your pocket and look at it when problems arise.

Don't get overwhelmed by many moving lines...if you do just look at the sentence the 2 hexagrams make

10 and 27

treading and nourishing

you are on the prowl like a tigress. Once you have the big picture then colour in the details of each line and so on

Hello Deusa

First, let me make this statement: In terms of hexagram 27 being about money or anything such, let it be stated this way, and I think this is something that many people need to understand. Hexagrams are not about anything. They are not about anything at all. They are only distortions in the space-time continuum. The only time they take on meaning is when we draw a hexagram out of the space-time continuum; that is, we do a reading, and the hexagram takes on meaning based on that point in the space-time continuum. So is hexagram 27 about money? It can be but it can be anything, anything at all. So how do you read it? It depends on your own psychology at the time of the reading.

So that being said, I would tend to say that hexagram twenty seven for you at this particular juncture, refers to the choices that you make. Here it seems to me the hexagram is saying, “Pay attention to the choices you make in regards to attempting to fulfill yourself."

Now, as far as hexagram ten goes, this hexagram speaks of decorum, and proper conduct. A little must be said here about the structure of the hexagram as a whole though. You received the second, fourth, and fifth lines changing. How do these lines relate? All three are yang lines, therefore they do not have a lot of interaction with each other. They do have some relationship of like kind however. The fourth and fifth line are both yang, so they do not completely harmonize, but both lines are aware of the danger of not harmonizing, so they are cautious, but nevertheless have a job to do so they take their tasks seriously while aware of the danger.

As far as work goes, this could indicate a situation in which you and the boss have a job to do and you are trying to do it as best as possible. At the same time the boss is the boss so you must use caution. Now, here is where the second line comes in. The second line normally corresponds with the fifth line, But here they are both yang. So the second line cannot completely harmonize but he or she does not let this concern him or herself. Rather the second line just does what it needs to do, and in so doing goes it alone. The second line must still be aware though that it is part of the organization as a whole, and can easily be squelched by the fifth line. So while it goes its own way, it still does so with the proper decorum and realizes that it is close to the third line which is the danger line. So the attitude of the second line is not that it can do anything it pleases, but still must act as an individual for the good of the whole. The fourth line is also close to the third line which is the line of danger. It is also close to the fifth line which is the ruler, or the boss. Therefore both lines do their duty while all the while being aware of the danger of doing their own thing. They must be independent, and yet at the same time in harmony with the overall goal of the organization as a whole. As such it pays attention to the choices it makes. It chooses to do its work independently, and yet in harmony with the organization as a whole. Therefore it enjoys the harmony and does not get bitten for treading on the tail of the tiger.

gene, thanks.
i read your answer more then once. it makes sense with my current situation. i know i have to be careful not to hurt too much my coleague, who is not expecting me to go for a part-time.
i don't wnat to leave this organzation now, i want to keep working here, but less time. to be able to do this, i have to be careful.
i also have to study well the other place and understand if i'm going to like to work there or not, and how feasable it is to go there and work in both places...

i love when you point out that the Yi is everything you need it to be. and so an hex can be about money, but can also be abput anything else. nourishment means nourishment, not just money!

and it is all so psychological and also so spiritual, if you searhc for it...
thanks!

I went to see the possible other place where i could work. Things are not as straight forward as i would wish. Nailbitting time indeed, as trojan wrote...
Can't forget to do a reading saturday to be prepared...

I am hesitating if to ask things to the Yi... Don't want to bother too much...

- should i consider the part-time or accumulate both works for the time being?
Would a general question linke "what is the best course of action as work is regarded?" A good question? "Best" is such a subjective concept...

- should i try to find something else or this is a good place to work?

- should i try to get more money/hour or it isn't worth the trouble to try?

I don't want to stop having time for my kids, but a bit more of money would be more confrotable...

Any suggestion?

Hexagram eleven describes a time of peace, when things are going well. In order to maintain peace, however, it is imperative that we follow certain principles. We cannot have peace within if we are at odds with our neighbors without. And not everyone is going to resonate with us. Therefore, we must find ways to be scrupulous and generous in our dealings with others, availing ourselves of means of dealkng with the less developed and those who do not have our best interests at heart. We must find ways to be resolute and determined and yet at the same time forebearing of others who do not see eye to eye with us. This can sometimes mean a sharp balance between fulfilling obligations while at the same time dealing with intractable people. (See Hexagram 10 as well.) The second line finds the middle way.

The third line tells us to maintain our inner peace even while things are changing all around us. Peace and harmony within the world do not last forever, but with proper circumspection and care we can still maintain inner peace. In order to do that though we cannot let the inviolable law of change to affect us inwardly even if everything is falling apart outwardly.

By the same token, in line two we must deal with our inner thoughts and feelings in the same way we deal with others. There are times when, try as we might, our inner feelings defeat us and we come to feel depression, anxiety, or worse. In such cases we must fall back upon our understanding of the laws of the universe, including cause and effect, and the law of cyclic return. (See hexagrams twenty three and twenty four.) We can then maintain proper perspective and let neither our own inner feelings, nor the feelings of others upset our balance and our peace of mind, but find grace and harmony in all situations.

Hexagram twenty four reminds us that all things cycle back around to their original state of being. This is immutable law and cannot be changed by humans. We can change, however, our attitude toward the law and work with it rather than fighting it. It is only when we go with the flow that we are peaceful and secure. Hexagram twenty four depicts the turning point, in the hexagram itself, for the positive, but a turning point nevertheless, for better or for worse. We can make it better by “Not being sad, but like the midday sun.” (See hexagram fifty five.)

So, basically, i am at a turning point. I should keep my inner thoughts serene and not let myself, inside, be affected by the change (change in itself is frightening).

I think this has a relationship with changes at work...

Your situation at work DID come to mind while I was reading this. Especially the part about dealing with all kinds of people with forebearance.

For practical physical reasons but also because of all the possible changes and choices to do...
I remembered 11 a lot of times!
Thanks Gene.

An advice for this week:

38.2.4.6 > 24

Again 24... And I keep feeling at a turning point, really...

Reading the changing lines, it could make sense. Basically i feel disunion, but there is good fortune, to use the Yi language...
I'll let you know.

10 came out when the new situation at work came out. It was very appropriate. I felt worried and "threading onma tiger's tail".

11 came out in a moment I was very tired and "consumed". It was a turning point, as now I feel much better.
I was ill too, for a day.
I was doubtful about a lot of things.
Now I feel stronger and more centered.

Now, what about 38? And the repeated 24?

Simply put, all three lines describe misunderstandings, but in the sixth line, one begins to recognize one's misperceptions, and therein lies the turning point. Isolation changes to union. "When opposition (isolation) reaches its antithesis, it changes into its antithesis." (The commentary on line six.)

Wilhelm:
"Thus amid all fellowship
The superior man retains his individuality.

So the cultured man is never led into baseness or vulgarity through intercourse or community of interests with persons of another sort; regardless of all commingling, he will always preserve his individuality."

Reading all this and the comments to the lines, two things came to my mind:
Some days ago I was talking about children with 3 women coleagues. All of them were very shocked when I spoke against using physical violence to educate children. Like hitting in the bottom and things like this. It was a really tricky situation, I would say a 38 situation. I was proud with me, I was careful but true to myself...

Then, reading the comment of line 6 i thought of the inmates in the prison...

I will let you know.

I was surprised about the 11 of the other week. I went through a very rough day physically, on monday, and a pretty good week after all. Quite happy and relaxed.
