What career am I best suited for? Hexagram 53, stressed lines 2,3,5,6 turning into hexagram7.

My take is that the oracle is saying that I need to gradually develop whatever I choose to do, share the the fruits of my labor some and dont rush too fast. Maybe develop a "It will be ready when it's ready" type attitude? But for now keep on working on it. Hexagram 7 talking about keeping up the discipline?

Anything to add to this? I see this as an attitude I may have to have for any career I may want to get into but what types of careers would this be though? Thanks.

Hi cassius clay,

"What career am I best suited for?" Answer hex 53.2,3,5,6>7

Hex 53.2 says to enjoy yourself now, the journey will resume. You have been quite successful so far, share your luck.
Hex 53.3 says becareful, you may have or you might make a mistake, at work, be wary of people trying to get you to enter to larger projects.
Hex53.5 says have no fears, someone in the past has caused you problems at work but now the issue has been resolved favourably. You are now on good terms with the boss.
Hex 53.6 says that you want to retire, quit your job.

Hex 7 the army, becoming a leader, a soldier, craftsman, security officer, has to do with discipline and power.
Have you become bored with your job, is it going nowhere? Is earning more money what you want? I would think that you would want is a career where you are in charge, being a large person gives you that air of authority. Working with groups seems to be what you like to do. Are you interested in the communications field? Something that has a high level of security. It really comes down to a career where discipline is a major factor, something that may be rather restrictive. Groups, friends, communication, teaching, police officer, security officer.
Nothing much is going to happen for the moment but in March you may get a new job offer. Do you have to change your job next month because you maybe moving home or something?

Some of the above questions and answers were brought to you by using horary astrology.

Interesting question, Cassius. The type of career, do you mean the type of work?
Just looking at the hexagrams - I would associate 53 with long term projects that involve building or construction work. It could be building/constructing something material (a house, a plane, ..) but also writing a book or a computer program, or doing scientific research.
In any case it would require a long term investment, patience and a methodical approach.
The first phase, the groundwork, including planning (lower hexagram mountain, building the fundament) is the "hard work" part. Not much immediate reward there, that comes later, in the second phase, when you move to the upper trigram. If you write software, for example, the second phase is the one in which the program finally starts to do, more or less, what it is supposed to do. :)
Does that make sense?

My guess is that hexagram 7 is an image of your situation or state of mind in which you feel the need to focus and choose for this or that. Metaphorically one "leader" (one direction), not many.

Just so this doesn't go too sideways here,
"The Army" isn't a very good translation of this Hexagram name,
unless you're thinking specifically of the Swiss Army, complete with
their policy of neutrality and the corkscrew on the knife.
The Militia would be much closer to the concept the authors are
describing. But Shi also means teacher and instruction. Maybe a career
that helps people to prepare responses in advance, or one in which you
yourself can respond to situations with a range of learned skills.

Well the job is OK. Nothing speacial. I curretly work at a metal plant. It pays OK but I want a job that has me travelling everywhere. never at home and can put some nice money in my pocket. Truck driver? Working on a boat? Working on a plane? A train? No I dont have to change jobs to move home.

I meant career by the type of job yes. Maybe the I Ching is saying how I should approxh any career I decide to get into. Yes what you said makes since.

Oh I think the I ching hexagram I drew will be Ok. Thanks though.

Thanks everybody for their input. Thanks Bradford too. Paz.

Hi Cassius

I would suggest you to try the aproach called "Four Pillars". You can try a free sample in www.adestiny.com

If the sample seems to fit for you, you can get a greater insight with the full analysis.

Now, the ideal would be a Zi Wei aproach. But it requieres much more skill, and in consecuence, is more expensive.

Best wishes
