Hi

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this line or any insights. It just appeared in my weekly reading. I took this as be aware, take action be confident, should find success. Being in hexagram 27 there maybe an element also of taking care of yourself.

There seems to be some positive aspects but also a hint of danger. Any feed back appreciated

Wilhelm/Baynes: The source of nourishment. Awareness of danger brings good fortune. It furthers one to cross the great water.

This is a Turning Point for you Steve, Hexagram 24 - Remember you're the one that is in charge of Nourishing others and it's time to take control of exactly what you're Nourishing yourself and others on. The danger is NOT heeding the advice of Yi here - or that's how I interpret anyway.

Any chance it's about the landlord thing? Since that's happening this week, and the reading was generally for the week.

Some commentators make this line sound pretty scary. Wilhelm is sort of neutral.

FWIW..

I received 27.6 on the same day that a stalker appeared at my front door. Think 27.6 indicates a threat to my home and those in it, a sign that I had better develop a greater "awareness of danger" and take further action to protect my loved ones and myself.

Just thought I would post that since, as Liselle indicated, you are experiencing an issue of sorts with your home environment too.

Line 6, you may feed someone else.
Let us know next week if someone has come to you for nourishment.

Just trying to figure out what 27.6 "ought" to mean as suggested by it's position in the hexagram and the overall I Ching sequence. As it is the last line of the hexagram it suggests a situation where the pattern has exhausted itself and it is not appropriate to continue in this manner. That the sixth line tells us the energy has run out and continuing is problematic, is more obvious in some hexagrams than others. For example, with line 6 of hexagram one, "Arrogant dragon will have cause for remorse", it is easy to see this is a case of the time of "creating" being over and that continuing to create will only result in problems. Similarly 2.6 "Dragons fighting in the field" is demonstrating that continuing to be Receptive when it's time to ask questions or take action is going to lead to hexagram 3. Difficulty. But sometimes the last line is positive like 7.6 where the time for The Army is past but one still needs to behave with the organizing abilities of a general to fairly the spoils. So it takes a little mental work to see how this idea of line 6 meaning it's time for a change can always apply. But anyway, as for 27.6. following this idea that the 6th line means the energy of the hexagram has already peaked, then the time for Nourishment has passed. If one is still continuing to stay in Nourishment mode then comes this warning that we will be called on to nourish others because we cannot take in more at this point. We're full. If we continue to just take in, take in, take in we evolve to 28. and the danger of Collapse.
It seems to me then that 27.6 is saying that to safely navigate the situation one ought to take what they have learned and put it to use - 24. Return or go back to where you were and apply your new insights.

I am not basing these ideas on any actual experience - just fiddling with what we know about line position and sequence.

Wow thanks for all the feedback, it would be safe to update the outcome now, what it mean't for me was to take care of those around me, be aware of realities, interesting rosada the warning of slipping into a 28 situation also I was pretty mentally exhausted, and thats where I have been hexagram 29 then two weeks of hexagram 28's. So maybe it was a warning looking back like watch out, want another 28 week.?
I havent been taking care of myself as much as I should or the people around me, home, business. Its mainly been due to issues I have had with the internet. However within the next 48 hours I will be on 50mb which will be plenty for what i need to do.

In short for me the line indicated, wake up look around , get real, take care of yourself and the people around you. You need to do this in a calm methodical way (my advice). I took the advice as best I understood it and have been applying it. The line does indicate other people and in this context yes others are involved.
If you look at hexagram 24.6 its a good indicator or I believe part of the warning could lie in the line.
Its a strong warning without the promise of a good outcome where as 27.6 does promise good fortune.

Anyway I just did a reading about what do I need to know about my business going forward and received hexagram 14 unchanging, I think I am back on track. Big difference from latest readings I will post later on it if I dont get a good feel for what I should be doing.

So the warning in line 27.6 should be taken seriously however if the advice is taken, its as the line states auspicious. You could also look at the line where a turning point is needed and it must come from you, being the last line in the hexagram, like a last chance before hexagram 28

Thanks everyone, I think you were all on the money in one way or another.

Greetings,

Steve, I hope things are working out for you. You sounded optimistic in your last contribution to this thread.

Rosada, just want you to know that I really appreciate your words on 27.6. As I mentioned above a man in my building had been harassing me. Since I regarded him as creepy rather than dangerous I simply ignored his anonymous notes and strange communication, believing he would tire of the "game" and leave me alone. Two Sundays ago (day of 27.6 reading) he dramatically escalated his behavior and I had to deal with him directly. Afterward I informed my building manager and new boyfriend, both of whom expressed astonishment at how long the situation had been developing (since 2013.) New boyfriend confronted stalker, made him cry and apologize to me. It was terrible but probably terribly effective as well. Anyways, your words on 27.6 were spot on:

Basically, I think I Ching was telling me that a direct confrontation with stalker was necessary - just bearing with the situation was no longer feasible.

I have just received this reading again for my plan for xmas. I am taking this as wake up now and focus, you can either have hexagram 28 for xmas or a nice hexagram 24. I think the general advice now getting the line again is, wake up, take care of things, it seems to be about dealing with a situation head on or to action something before a situation becomes worse. As we can see that if the advice is followed there is good fortune however you are walking a fine line. The first step is being aware that there is an issue or even possible danger, the advice seems to suggest potential danger and avoiding it.

Wilhelm/Baynes: The source of nourishment. Awareness of danger brings good fortune. It furthers one to cross the great water.
