I'm just not happy in my current job. I've been working -since more then 3 years now-
in a very sales orientated environment. I work as an hr-consultant and working with people is something I really love. It's the constant pressure hard-selling and the level of control my employer plays out that's really getting to me lately. Looking for another job while working this job has proved exceedingly difficult... So I asked
What will happen if I quit my job now? Hex 1 unchanging.
I think maybe it means I have the potential to find a more satisfying job but it advices me to think before I act?

As always, all insights are much appreciated!

Usually it is more difficult to find a job once one is unemployed. Being unemployed for some time is a negative when seeking employment, so quiting your job to seek another seems highly risky unless your specialty is in high demand. You should have a place to land before you leap.

Considering Hex. 1 as the flight of the dragon, maybe it is time for you to fly, but not before you have a place to land (a new job waiting).

Yes, don't quit you job! Or think it well. Tom has reason.

I believe that the Changes is thinking how to say you that, of course, YOU DESERVE A BETTER JOB, but DON'T STAY WITHOUT A JOB NOW.

Actual context would take time to change.

All the best.

If I received H1 unchanging to this question, I would assume it meant that I would have to be very creative, with no outcome in sight....basically, that everything would depend on my creativity.

Or perhaps it is suggesting that you "be creative" in the current job...if you are good enough, can you negotiate some changes with your current employer. Be Creative!

I know how you feel. I have been in the same place for three years and I hate it. As a matter of fact, my District Manager made mention to my manager that my attitude was sub par for the workplace. I am just so bored, but work is hard to come by these days. I am looking for some work, but I have thought about starting my own business. Try to hang in there for now, Myladythunder. I absolutely wish you the best of luck in your search for another career or job.

[/FONT]My attempt is that the hex 1 maybe has read into you and has seen that your creative strength is ready to form an idea of a new job. So, you can make real this idea but at the right time. And the right time will come when you will complete the steps: i.e. for example, working part time at your current job, attending a training course, connecting with people who do the job you’d like and so on…

Hello,
working under stress and unhappy consequently ends with quitting or getting fired, in my experiance cos you undermind yourself sub-conciously. Personally, I am still broke and without means at all, but call me stupid, I don`t crave that old job.
Hex 1. I read as a creative mess that could last for you if you choose to quit. It is supposed to be a positive creativity in motion so I guess, it depends on how good you can swimm in a creative chaos. :)
Getting creative in general is always a good idea, but also asking another question about when will be a good time to quit your job or an advice on how to go about getting a better job in near future, perhaps...

Earth #2 is the receptive and usually means to nurture, #1 is initiative.

Heaven #1 is an active force in its purest form. The lines seem to describe certain stages of this movement. The full extent of this movement is displayed in when all the lines would change to #2.

This means to me to talk about pure potential, energy of movement. So I guess it wants you to focus on potentials instead?

Do you know the phrase "creative destruction?" That is what it will be to destroy something that is working, to create something better.

Are you happy the IC is not suggesting you are asking the wrong question?

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to sound arrogant, it's just that I find it helful to regard the IC as a close friend, I often see its personality, if it can have one, as an older brother or sister, someone who knows me well but who lives a distance away, is better-placed in the world than I am, who has had a lifetime of experience but now lives quietly, perhaps engaged in some narrow academic study.

Sounds fanciful, but it helps me when framing a question especially. I always ask myself whether I would really ask my 'brother' a question I am considering asking the IC. Would I put him 'on the spot'? Would I force him to tell me something that might reduce my respect and affection for him?

Hex 1 unchanging is pure creative force. But that is not to be taken lightly because massive potential for change implies not only change for better or worse but a far reaching change. You need to ask yourself where you want to go next and formulate some plan to get there before you quit your job possibly because if you do quit, Hex 1 counsels it would be like a big bang time - can you handle all that raw potential without any structures, organisation, direction etc?

Thanks for all your insights folks! I know I took my time to react. I like to think things through before such an important decision.

Thanks Pocossin, ofcourse I realise this is sound advice. I'm not planning on making any hasty moves. By asking this question I was merely trying to get an image of the forces at work in my life and surroundings right now.

The flight of the dragon... I can vividly imagine submerging from the deep and taking flight :) I understand I need to take action if I want my idea (hex 1?) to take real form.

Hi Charly! No worries, I'm not quitting my job even though it is a tempting thought at times...

Actual context would take time to change
As it happens I do have an idea, still involving helping people towards a good job, same as my current job, but WITHOUT the commercial hardselling approach. It would probably take some time to realise that change in my work situation.

Hi Tiger, I feel that at this moment in my job there is no room for a creative approach, everything has rules and every action you take is being analysed, they make statistics of your commercial potential and in the end, that's all that really matters to my employers.
As I said to Charly and Pocossin,
I do have a creative idea that is taking form in my mind. Something involving helping people in a difficult situations towards a steady job through coaching them in their self-worth and motivation.

Beyond_the_veil, it's nice to meet someone I can relate to :) MY district manager made also mention of my 'negative' attitude towards authority towards my manager. I do my job, but I'm not doing it the way my employers expect me to do it... I like to work with people instead of numbers, so there you have it ;)
Let's both hang in there!

Tomorton

I always prefer to hear the naked thruth. It definitely wouldn't reduce the way I feel about someone else.
I do like the way you picture the Yi :bows:

Seems like I'll have to help myself first before I can help anyone else :D

I see...
I'll need to form a strategy. Not my strongest suit, I'm a go with the flow kind a gal. But without a good focus I'll remain in this unhappy position. I love the way the Yi confronts me, gives me opportunities to learn so much!

I'd hold to your vision and allow it to develop. Some of your ideals you may even be able to incorporate into the rigid methodology you are forced to employ now. Your genuineness to help your prospects can come through even in a hard sell environment. Until something else comes along that is better suited to your empathetic approach, your empathy may still find a way to come across within the present system, which you're presently forced to employ. Perhaps your best opportunity to help your prospect, the way you'd like to, is by first securing them as your client.
